  1. That is what I have been using and I mix it 40:1. I have read that others are mixing 50:1 but I feel better if it is a little rich so I will stick to 40:1. As for the gear oil I cant say. I use bel-ray gear saver for that.
  2. I am getting ready to put my top end back together and I was reading the instructions that came with my wiseco pistons. It talks about drilling 2 holes .060-.090 below the rings for lubrication. Do any of you guys do this? And if I dont do this will it be a problem? I also want to make sure the rings have the right gap. Would someone please explain how to do this? Thank you Ron
  3. Do you have a trailer? I custom made my trailer. lol My neighbor had an old popup camper that I stripped it down to the fame and made an ATV trailer out of it. Nothing fancy but it works. Charlotte, NC is about 2 hours from me. I wouldnt mind meeting you like half way if there were somewhere to ride.
  4. If you radiator is loosing coolent then yes your head is warped or you blew your head gasket. Unless it is leaking from a hose. The coolent isnt going to evaporate, it has to be going somewhere.
  5. Well crap Clemson would of been good. I am in Easley. I am trying to find someone to ride with. It gets boring riding by yourself. You dont happen to know where Widow Maker is do you? I have heard about it but I cant seem to find out where it is. From what I have been told is it a powerline trail that goes one for several miles.
  6. Anyone here in the upstate South Carolina are?
  7. That picture is wrong on so many levels..lol
  8. Dude if you havent gotten it by now everyone is fucking with you. You cant replace a powerband! Duh! I would say do some reading on how a 2 stroke motor works.
  9. Just like everyone said. When mine came apart a few weeks ago thats what it sounded like. The piston skirt came a part. I wouldnt keep running it all that will do is cause more damage. Need to find out why that happened. If it over heated I would check the water pump impeller. As the others said even with whats wrong still well worth 1000 bucks.
  10. hmmm if that is the case then the 71mm would be the big bore sleeve?
  11. I was wondering how far can a stock cylinder be bored? I have seen 71m pistons. Is that as far as it can be bored without changing the sleave? Thanks Ron
  12. Mine cracked my boots as well. I just took the boost bottle off plugged to holes and havent had any problems sence. That sucks that a pos like that would destory your motor.
  13. I agree with BansheeDan either jetting or something to do with carb. You spray the carb cleaner around all openings of the cylinders. (Reeds and base gasket) I would also check the compression on each cylinder. (you need a compression gauge for that) You screw the hose in were the spark plugs go. Hold the throttle wide open and kick it over until the max compression is reached. (it might take 20 or so kicks) do that for each cylinder. Each one needs to be over 100lbs but within 10 lbs of each other. (i am not saying that is the problem but i would check that to be sure your topend is in good shape) Most important thing is dont give up and be patient. Plus if you are going to sell it you will get more for it if it is running then not. Also you said you have 2 others, so whats the big hurry? Work on it a little then walk away and ride one of your other ones until you figure it out.
  14. The CDI is the box under the seat by the grab bar. One way of testing it would be taking the CDI off one of your other banshee's and putting it on the other one. If all is good then that is your problem. I have a feeling its not the CDI being you said the idle is high. I would try what was said before and take some carb cleaner ( i prefer carb cleaner over starting fliud) and spray it around the cylinders and see if the idle changes.
  15. Download the service manual thats on the sticky and look throught it you can see what the tors look like.
  16. If not that the only thing I can think of is the break line has collapsed. If indeed the master cylinder and calipers were rebuilt right.
  17. Wow that is the first time i have seen a dune port. They really cut the hell out of them for that. Now for 150 bucks I can see paying that but 500 is a bit to much.
  18. Got it and thank you very much!
  19. hey man you might want to post this in the For Sale section.
  20. that was my exact thinking too..lol
  21. Are you parting out the motor? If so how are the pistons? Are the Stock bore? How much?
  22. I need so good pistons stock bore. What condition are they in abd how much? [email protected] Thanks Ron
  23. yea, the more i think about it the more i dont think it is a good idea. Thanks for the input
  24. I would say its either the cable is stuck or the slides arent going all the way down or it is sucking air from somewhere. Look at the slides from the back to be sure they are going all the way down. If not check for cable were they go from 1 to 2. If thats not it try to spray so carb cleaner around the jugs and reeds. This is just my opion. Good luck
  25. I was wondering if I can use cork for the base gasket. I cut some out yesterday and they fit great but then i got to thinking about the compression. Will the cork hold up to the compression? Or is there even any compression that far down? Last time I bought these gaskets they were 15 bucks each. Thanks Ron
