  1. if you happen to read the bottle, it says klotz stays combined indefinately... or something like that... so it should NEVER seperate..
  2. i had that warning sticker on mine.. everyone got a kick out of it... um.. i figured out a way to get rid of those ugly mounting holes... CUT OFF THE FENDERS!!!! hahahaha.. thats what i did... ill probably pay the price when i get blasted with mud and rocks though
  3. alright, i was getting my jugs powedercoated monday by my uncle.. he has a home kit... well i was wondering, should i sandblast them first? will that stock coating on the outside burn off in the oven? shouldi just blast them?

  7. why not have the 4mil stroker, dune port it, get a timing plate, put it at +4... get 20cc domes depending on elevation and all the complementing mods.... then say you wanna drag or haul ass, swap the domes, and increase the timing... dump in some race gas and have a blast
  8. oh here is a really good tip... when putting the key back onto the shaft for the flywheel, it has to be level with the ground, not the shaft... i forget where i read it, maybe hotrods website, but they said that the key can sheer off if it isnt installed level with the ground.. and when you put the crank in, check it all 4 times before setting the cases together... make sure those little pins are in the locking groves...
  9. yeh the whole bucket murphys law is 100% true... i was helping my buddy rip apart his 4wd once... he washed it before he ripped it apart... got ready to put it together and we couldnt find his ratchet ANYWHERE... turns out, the phone rang and he set it on the rack of his quad... and set the quad back down on the wheels... guess where it ended up? in the bucket of soapy water... we found it after we were cleaning everything up and dumped it out... also... you may want a parts washer handy... cleans up the cases if you decide to split them... annnnnnnd waterproof grease is your friend... dont forget about it
  10. from now on, people should just post 'are cubs trail friendly' in the roostin room... shit... talk about a piss and moan contest... its really, honestly like this... take my lightning... i COULD do i tube chassis, put some giant meaty tires, cage it, put fiberglass fenders, long travel suspension on it, completely set it up as a trophy truck for those desert courses, and instead of using it for its purpose... i could run it down the dragstrip all year instead.. thats what people are saying... why the hell would i do that? why not set it up to drag race, or road courses.... bajaing a lightning is like trail riding a cub or such... yeh you could try and do it, but with all the money youll spend making it trail friendly (like fireman said, he spend tens of thousands?) you could just say f it and buy a cub or cheetah to drag, and a ported 4 mil for trails... im gonna go buy an r1 and use it to ride on dirt bmx jumps... dont say i cant, ill spend tens of thousands to make it work. you watch. im with dave... as i bet EVERYONE on the forum is.
  11. i sent him mine on oct 29th.. im pretty sure hes shipping them back next week... he has my jugs and a flywheel... all that was left on monday was the flywheel... talk about waiting in suspense! i harass him about once a week.. haha.. not because i think hes ripping me off... but because im to excited about my motor... and all the parts i ordered from him coming in with the jugs and stuff...

  14. aw man, i wish my bike was together... supposedly gonna be one hell of a fun trail bike... trinitys, 33mm pwks, billet intakes, +4stroker longrod, f.a.s.t.s dune/play port.. noss head blah blah... should be a blast... i wish i had it all back to put together and give you first hand how it is...
  15. i actually just cut off a few plastic brackets bc mine are shaved... i used an angle grinder, and buzzed the tabs off w it... and just ground them smooth.... and used a little dremel to to the fine deburring/shaping... not i just need to spray it..
  16. ive got 22" of knarly xc's... they hook like none other.. in wet fields with tall grass lying down they hook and just destroy... on pavement i noticed some slip actually... but once gripped they stay... and wear on the roads isnt bad at all... they hook in everysituation ive put them so far... and even in the mud. and i mean, thick swamp shit mud.

MAYBE? or is that high/low? let me know... i have to compete w my truck.. hahaha.. ~450rwhp woo woo...

  23. yeh, ive been there too... although here is my way of doing things.. i thought, you know, itd be sweet to have a long rod stroker shee... so i send jeff my jugs... and told him to give me a 4mil longrod dune/playbike port... and then bought the other parts... although, i still havent bought my crank, even though i got a hell of a deal waiting (450) im just putting it off till i get my parts from jeff...   24. i was looking through the clymer here at work to pass some time and read the coolant section... now ive read on here you can delete the coolant res because its just an overflow catch can... so why does the clymer say that you should add coolant to the res after you drain the old stuff? it says not to add it to the radiator? whats the deal here?
