I won't be riding, I am just going to watch. I went last year and it was really fun. I caught a bunch of roost to the chest from Bill Balance. A 55 or 60 HP (however much his race quad puts out) quad can fling some roost that doesnt feel that great when you get hit by it.
I wish I was going to be home this weekend. I live about an hour from there and I would love to be there riding with everyone. But I am stuck up here in cold ass Buffalo New York building a damn wind farm. I do however have a plane ticket to come home on the 25th of this month for the Ironman in Crawfordsville. Anyone else going to be at the race?
Well for like $10 you can get a smaller sprocket for the front. It will definitely help out. For another $35 dollars you can get a timing plate and bump the timing a few degrees. Im pretty sure you could put some reed spacers on it and pick up a lil more down low.
Any ideas on how I can clean all of the strawberry milk (coolant/gear lube) out of the case? I was thinking about denatured alcohol. It should soak up most of the "water" moisture. I have the clutch cover and the impeller out. When you say it is the water pump seal, i am guessing you mean the rubber piece mounted in the case cover that the impeller sits in?
I wish it was my county.. I would love to be able to ride it on the roads everywhere. I would have a 68mm cub motor and some street tires. Along with the IMS 5 gallon or however big it is tank. I could just see it now; stretched out banshees running around puttin a hurtin on some street bikes in the 8th mile.
I really don't know how long it has been blown but I don't think it could have been very long. The engine might have 5 hours on it. So I drained the gear oil and there is fresh gear oil sitting in there now, until Friday when I have time to tear into it and find out what happened. Do you all think that the crank bearings will survive?
Got back from a short ride today and as I was pulling back into the shop my shee started spitting gear oil out the back of the case (the breather tube). The funny thing was is that it was a chalky/milky pink color. I use Bel-Ray gear lube 80w and it is a red color to begin with. I don't think that any coolant was involved because my coolant level hasn't dropped at all. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Buy the 450. They have 20 years newer technology, they don't drink as much gas, and they are more comfortable when riding hard for extended periods of time. Buy a quadtech seat for it though, the stock seat is like a board on the yfz450.
I know this has been asked here before but does anyone know if I can buy an intake boot for another quad or bike that will work on a 2into1 setup? Trinity wants like $55 for one.
Same thing happened to me. I was running the tap dry because I figured it would be alright seeing as it was aluminum. I was wrong.
Is the tap sitting in the bore of the carb? If not (mine wasnt) I just sealed mine up, so it wouldn't pull any vacuum, and kept the tors on it for a while. I have a 2-1 now.
I was in Odessa Texas 3 weeks ago at an 1/8th mile strip down there. There was a cub motor on meth running 6.90s at 92. He had a 2-5 override and was on like 22 inch tires that were wrinkling the wall when he left the line.
