  1. Just send your cylinders and top case half to HJR if you want for porting, boring and case matching. Hit up other shops like Redline, Wildcard or FAST and see what they can do for you. IIRC, Wildcard ports a wicked Trail/MX cylinder... Kevin's trans work is bank compared to what camatv does for us. Suspension is key. I can't ride my 2002 Banshee any harder or jump it any higher because my stock suspension sucks ass. My buddies on new KTM XC's can go way faster thru rough stuff and jump way higher because of their badass stock suspension. But that will soon be handled with Fireball LT A-Arms and LT Elkas.
  2. Stage 5's ordered.
  3. T3's sign off later than T5's.
  4. I thought the lamp may have affected that pic. The color matches damn well. Looks good.
  5. Nice looking bikes. I'll be ordering their LT a-arms at the end of the month. Is that their two coat candy blue? How does it match the blue frame? I'm thinking about candy blue upper and lower arms with silver tie rods for my 02 that has the stock silver frame.
  6. I can't wait to install mine...
  7. To a certain extent.
  8. When I build my 4mil stk cyl I wil spare no expense on bearings unless the builder tells me it's not needed..
  9. Go with VF4's. Since it's a woods build I assume you have the stock airbox? Did you upgrade to the prodesign intake w/K&N and Outerwear? Trans mods, have camatv hook you up. PM him http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showuser=12229 I think he has a breakdown of all his services right there on his profile. Spend the extra money and buy a brand new Hot Rods 4mil crankshaft w/extra weld and max load bearings from Kevin. If he can't do that for you, call Jeff at FAST he'll ship that out the very next day exactly how I stated it. Do it right, and you'll do it once. The 4mil should handle 14/41 all day long on the trails.
  10. 91 octane +4* no problem but make sure you do a proper plug chop. if your mains are spot on now and then you advance the timing you might push the motor into detonation and that will separate an unwelded crank in short order. FYI, get the motor up to temps. Pull old plugs and switch them for new ones. Fire up the bike, nuts up on the gas tank and run it 2nd thru 6th WFO. When you reach max speed in 6th, keep it WFO and simultaneously kill the engine and pull in the clutch while keeping it WFO and coast to a stop. Swap plugs back to the old ones and ride back to your shop. Cut the threads off the plugs and look for 1-2mm brown ring around the base of the white porcelain. If you knew that already, then
  11. There's a place right here in CommiFornia... http://www.catalystsuspension.com/ Thanks for the heads up John!
  12. Yes Sir, that is the plan after I start parting out my 87. I'm building the suspension first and when I'm in there a set of YFZ450R calipers and MC are going on too. Once the suspension, brakes and finally steering are all upgraded, then I'll pull the motor and have one of the site sponsors do a 4mil Stk Cyl Aggressive Trail/MX Port. I know all about the benefits of suspension and brakes. I can push Porsche GT3 RS', Vettes, Camaros, Rustangs and the venerable Miata all around the corners in my 300awhp Eclipse AWD turbo. Of course the V8's walk all over me in the straights, but not for long... I pushed a GT3 RS so hard thru turn 11 at Thunderhill Raceway that he got all slide ways right in front of me and he had a GoPro mounted on the roof looking back seeing me in his rear view mirror all day. The suspension, braking and tire/wheel package allows me to push the car to over 1g laterally without wearing the tires out. Next is more power with a fully forged motor, built head, cams and a Garrett GT30 turbo from Forced Performance as the cherry on top. Should put down 450awhp on 91 octane all day long at only 25psi give or take a few. It's fun as hell during track days when those high $$$ car drivers come over to check out my <$10k track slut...
  13. I know these are new and probably only a handful of guys has one, but have any of you had a chance to beat the ever living shit out of one of the HD units yet?
  14. Oh hell yes John! Thanks for the info. I'll be sure and ask Elka about the service center here in the states.
  15. Oh hell yeah! You're all set.
  16. yep, they're a bad ass pipe for their time and they're now rare as all get out... If I had a set, I'd restore them to full luster and have no problem rocking them on a Duner!
  17. I will do that. You're in Canada, so getting what you need makes things easier for you. I like the looks, the color of springs, the design enhancements/advancements and of course the integrated shock protectors of the Elka Stage 5's vs red or navy blue springs of the Axis shocks, (depending on availability at build time), and the lack of shock shaft protectors. When it comes down to it, the stage 5's are about $50 more than the full blown triple adjust/triple rate Custom Axis shocks. I do not want to cover up a set of beautiful shocks with a shock covers. And the ones offered by Axis are made from canvas and will wear the paint on the coils over time. My buddy has a KTM 525XC and his KTM shock covers are stretchy neoprene that appear to be just like what a wet suit is made of. They're form fitting and do not wear the black coils of the stock Ohlins triple adjustable shocks. <-- Lucky bastards... I know I could probably get away with a set of Works AT Steelers set-up for what I do, but I want to kick it up a notch. My wife bought me this 2002 just after I had open spinal cord surgery back in 2011 in hopes that I would make a speedy recovery and also because all my buddies had nice shiny new ATV's and I was riding around on a Hoopty 87 Banshee that I built back in 1995, those are her words. Before the surgery, the surgeons told us that I probably would never be able to ride or road race again and that I would need 3-4 weeks of ambulatory rehab after surgery to learn how to walk and function like a normal human. 3 days after surgery, I walked out of the hospital fully functional, so I am damn lucky. Coming up on 3yrs after surgery and there's no sign of the tumor they removed, so we'll continue living life to the fullest. So every now and then I'll show her some pics of some really clean Banshees from this site and she says, "why don't you make your blue Banshee look like those"? And so here we are. I am already out riding the stock suspension and the fronts are max'd out on pre-load but the rear shock is hanging in there still with a one click harder of compression Next I'll be looking to get the rear shock rebuilt/resprung for my weight and a +2 HD JDS round house swing arm. I've recently sold enough parts to throw down on a top of the line set of shocks that will be on my bike for the duration. I'm getting up there in age and I don't ever see an end to riding dunes and XC with my friends and my two sons. So, I want to do it once, so I'm going to do it right. Thanks for listening to my life story, and keep the comments rolling...
  18. T3's are a bad ass pipe. My buddy runs them on his 89. I jetted his 28mm PWK's w/N68A needles, clip in the middle groove, 50 pilots and 152 mains I believe. This is at sea level, 70*, 40:1 yamalube 2r and 91 octane. Not sure what porting it has, but I'd imagine it's right around a Dune Port. Thing flat out hauls ass!
  19. Thanks Jesse. I'll hit them up today if I have time. I just can't see how the Stage 5's aren't better than anything else on the market, but I could be wrong. I mean with all of the design advancements they have just seems like a state of the art coil spring shock set-up. Plus I really dig the shock shaft protectors...
  20. One thing I haven't done yet is contact Elka and see how they handle potential customers.
  21. I have two shops quoting me on both the triple adjust w/Hi/Lo speed comp and rebound and the double adjust w/comp and rebound triple rates. I should know tomorrow.
  22. Awesome man, thanks for the input. I have an email into Axis about the different terrain and how to set-up the shocks, so we'll see.
  23. So, I'm getting quotes on 19.5" Custom Axis triple rates w/comp and rebound adjustabilty. Is Hi/Lo speed comp adjustability really worth the extra 300 bones? I primarily ride dunes and XC. The $300 saved can go towards a new +2 LSR steering stem. So just to let everyone know Fireball LT a-arms are +2.5 +1. They will accept shocks that are 18.75" - 19.5" long.
