Give Bill at BVC Racing a call. He'll hook you up.

Go with what sleeper06 said for jets. Is the TORS eliminated from the carbs? Do you have idle screws installed? And if you want to tune your motor tits get a cheap tach from eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/360856901363?redirect=mobile Get a Carb Sync Tool from FAST. http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=59 Then Google how to Sync a pair of Banshee carbs. 2 grooves down from the blunt end lowers the needle and makes the carb lean. Airscrew 1/2 turn out means your pilot jet is too small. What's your elevation and avg air temps?

Cascade has 28mm Idle Screws. http://www.cascadeinnovations.net/store/store_view.cfm?store_area_id=13&STORE_DEPT_ID=435 Or JJ&A has a killer set of billet idle screws for 28-41mm Keihin PWK Carbs. http://www.jjandaracing.com/contents/en-us/d7.html

Butta... or so I've been told. I have a trans w/every other dog cut, the drum bearing and a couple other things sitting in a box beggin to get installled. But I'm building the suspension first!
-
Another thing that is commonly done to help the trans shift better is install a roller bearing into the case where the other end of the shift drum twists. The OD of the bearing pops right into the bore in the case. Then in a lathe, precision machine the end of the shift drum to fit the inside diameter of the roller bearing, you follow me? Sourcing the proper roller bearing is the first step...

My buddy has that exact set-up on his 525 XC. Badass tire/wheel package. Good luck with the hunt.
-
Cool It'll be March before I tear into it, but I'll let you know.
-
You still looking for extended j-arms? I might be selling my +2+1 JP Racing J-Arms depending how my buddy's 89 rides w/Stellar J-arms. I have some freshly rebuilt triple rate Works shocks w/remote rezzies too.

thanks for your input. Another happy Elka customer.

it's all cash from free parts. I'm tired of selling shit just to pay bills. Time for some upgrades that'll put a smile on my face when I blow by my buddies on their KTM XC's WFO and floating over the rough stuff. Oh, and I almost forgot, the LT rear will be valved for a JDS HD +2 swing arm too.
-
I don't have any regrets doing so. After I part out my 87, the rear is getting the Elka LT Link and matching Stage 5 LT shock in a couple of months. I'm busy remodeling my house and getting ready to move, so time to wrench is non-existant.

New rims and wheels for my Banshee, what do you think?

Does anyone know if rear OMF Beadlocks are dual? -
I sure did, but do it right, you do it once...
-
I looked into Fox Evols and everyone I talked to said that Fox is discontinuing a lot of their parts and that they're trying to get into the OEM market... Plus the Stage 5's are way more than I need, but cash from selling parts that have sat for a while funded the deal fully. Must be nice. CommiFornia is expensive. It sucks. I wish I could get out, but I'm at a job with a full pension, so if something comes along that'll match that, I'm out.
-
I am looking into HJR's 4mil MX Port too. But IDK. I've read horror stories about incorrect 4mil stock cyls domes. Dig a little deeper and you will see. Nice suspension. I'm going to respring/revalve my stock rear shock for now as well. Eventually I'm going to go with the rear Elka LT Link and rear Elka LT shock, but that's after I part out my 87 of course...
-
Didn't spend anywhere near Elka's asking price. All I can say is give Bill at BVC Racing a call if you're looking for Elka's. They're 45 miles rom Elka and have a very good relationship. Bill will take care of you.

What do you have for front suspension? You should be worried. You'll end up paying $60 more for the HotRods. http://www.herrjugsracing.com/Cranks_Pistons_Cylinders_Cases.html I wouldn't chance it. 2nd and 4th lines of text on the following page are all that matters. $450 4mil HotRods crankshaft w/Extra Weld. http://www.farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=78
