  1. Dont worry about gas mileage. Is the idle so low it cuts out? You can adjust the clutch cable a little. that changes the idle
  2. A buddy and I are heading out to Gordons Friday afternoon for some night and morning riding. Might just be the 2 of us. We'll be camped along the Coachella (cement) canal if anyone else wants to roll.
  3. My buddy has a complete Lone Star frame with Roll Design "long travel" suspension. He digs it. But he also realizes he could be riding just as fast with an average bolt on aftermarket set up. Like I said. You can only ride as fast as you can handle. A friend I ride with used to have a (just pipe) Z400 that could lose me in the dunes anytime he wanted.
  4. I routed the hose straight down. Cut it at about 4 inches under the frame
  5. Have you had problems with the Yamalube? "If it aint broke, why fix it?"
  6. You dont NEED a afetrmarket radiator or engine Ice. If you can get a radiator. Cool. Neither are NEEDED. few people here have either
  7. I have an '02, same color. After the stickers come off, paint the grill shroud black. It'll look much better. I snagged a set of white shocks off my buddy
  8. Safely hitting whoops at full throttle will require more than good suspension. you still have to know how to ride the bike well. Long Travel on a quad is not like long travel on a truck or buggy. Hitting whoops fast, in my experience, takes a decent rear end. Shock and swingarm. Your front end should barely touch the whoops. $1300 will barely get you a decent aftermarket front end.
  9. I just had the girlfriend pick up some of this. I'll try it on my '02 FMFs and on my '06 T5s. See how it works. I'll get before and after shots. It'll take a week or. Gordons Well trip this weekend!
  10. Not sure where you are from. That might affect the way you see it. It's a Southern CA thing. Some of it is sarcastic, much of it pokes fun at the fact that these guys act like they are some hard core FMX rider but have no bike. if they do, it's usually an XR50
  11. Sand Tires Unlimited makes a "padla trak"? I think it's called that is a dual purpose desert tire. Look on their site
  12. Hell yes! I'm all over that site since day 1. Kicks ass! Good for so many laughs
  13. I have the same problem with one of my lower a arm fittings.
  14. At least mine will last more than 2 rides! Blue Banshee sucka!
  15. 1. Pipes 2. K&N(s) 3. Lights 4. Tires/wheels 5. V Force Cut fenders and remove junk is a must for me. Not really an upgrade though. Lights and paddles are a must for the Dunes. Probably not for other terrain.
  16. I've had to install swingarms 4 different time. It is a total pain in the ass. There isn't anything too tricky to it. You just have to go slow and think out what gets removed/installed first. Otherwise you have to keep going backwards with the installation. You might need a big helper bar to take off the axle nuts. You need a big socket for the pivot bolts. Like a 22, 23 or 24mm. Maybe it was 26. Not that common in most average socket sets. You'll probably have to beat the axle out of the carrier.
  17. Stock bikes are hard to start. Once I got pipes on my '02 it started with ease everytime.
  18. wait till you get a few bucks and buy the dual K&Ns that bolt right to the carbs. get rid of the whole airbox. OR, if you come acroos a little more cash, Buy the Trinity 2 into 1 carb. It eleminates, airbox, filter, old carbs, TORS and you have one hell of a clean and simple setup in there!

    ITP Sandstars?

I have never heard a complaint about the Sand Stars. "The Edge"? I have seen 3 sets fall apart. Literally. The glued on paddles by Skat Trak have that nasty habit. For some reason, "the Edge" has the problem the most.
  21. I picked up a few feet at Home Depot. Just go by looks. you need 2 sizes. it's like 80cents for a roll
  22. Doubt it's worth the few bucks it cost
  23. 86 it! Unnecessary and ugly.
  24. Yep. Any paddle is better than knobbies. Buy what you can. Run what ya got!
  25. I'd prefer a bent steering stem than a bent skull. I have personally seen Crossbeam Tags and Renthals break WHILE RIDING! Fat Bars all the way for me.
