im also looking for a good port job from Canada closer to nova scotia for me though
-
haha i know 35's are way to big, i didnt find they did much harm though, but they sure do give alot more power, with a port job it would be sweet, at sea level im running 310 mains probably should of been 320's, i wanna get it running on 340's or more i got a really good deal on them so i couldnt pass them up porting is in the process, my bike blew a piston about 2 or 3 weeks ago so while its apart im gettin a mild port done to it should be screaming when i get all the work finished to it
-
i will post up how i like it but i may not have all the parts for about 2-3 weeks ya i was thinkin 4 degrees i got it piped, K&N, mikuni 35's, modquad head 21cc domes and thats it 4 seems to be the popular number so im going to try that anyone else think 4 is right for my setup?

exact same thing about 2 weeks ago, hole was in the same spot too and the left cylinder looks exactly like mine my cause was i had to much compression without knowing, i had 17cc domes when i thought i had 21cc domes so was using pump fuel in a dome made for race fuel hope you didnt drive it home like i did i gotta get a new crank too piston bits f'ed up mine

ooooooooooooooooopps i thought those arms were stock polished, my mistake
-

-
id love to take a picture of just the tank and post it but my bike is in the shop right now they are plain looking new cuz there is nothing on them but put some stickers on it like mine, and the look pretty good pricing, well i got it on ebay for under a hundred bucks ebay is great when you dont want to spend a ton of money it kinda sucks because the color you want may not be there but if your patient you will find it soon enough
-
hey i like that thats a much cheaper set of shocks on extended arms any problems putting them on? and how do they compare to say works or something along those lines building a mild mx'er and am wondering if it would be a good idea to save some money by buying these or to just buy something a bit more
-
alright this could be stupid but I really do not know so in a post before i said i blew my top end anyways i need to bore it out and get a different set of domes now heres my problem at what bore size do you need to get big bore domes? or is it as soon as you bore you need to get big bore domes? I don't know how much it has to get bored out yet so if anyone knows if its 0.02 or 0.08 or whatever Secondly does anybody know the cc specs on each bore, like i believe 0.02 is 352cc, 0.04 is 358cc, whats the rest? or correct me if those are wrong Thanks
-
i got the ims 5.6 gallon on mine its great you have soooooooo much fuel its wider higher and goes farther forward then the stock one but all and all its not awkward, i didnt notice any difference the only bad thing is you have to cut the sides off you front frenders that normally came back over your stock tank so if you feel like putting your stock tank back on pick up an extra set of front fenders or its going to look really ugly heres a pic of mine sorry if the picture is huge i think it is o ya your bars will rub a bit when you crank them all the ways either way, so a set of risers or longer steering stem would be nice, but it doesnt rub so much that it shortends up your turning radius at all well worth it a neat feature also is you can see your fuel level from the outside the tank instead of looking in your tank is semi-clear, look at my picture you can see the fuel level in it, its neat i like it
-
i had the same problem last week hole right under my plug in my left cylinder i drove it home too and well it was a bad idea needs a bore and possibly a new crank, i havent looked at the crank yet but im not looking forward to seeing it, hopefully only a main bearing instead of a whole new crank
-
I have a question in this topic if you get a ricky stator plate do you HAVE to lighten your flywheel? or is it just a good idea to while you got it off?
-
ya thats the way im lookin at it, I got it all apart so why not get some work done to it that i wanted to do like you said new top end and some porting done the 35's cant push any more through those little ports i gotta get some bigger ones put in some wisecos and ill be a destroying my buddies even more
-
ahhhhhhhh crap, i just looked and have throw out the packeging they came in still gonna call them though worth a shot, its not a good bill i got coming gotta bore it cuz the piece that broke out messed up my sleeve, new pistons, and possibly new crank bearings from all the piston shavings that floated around in there.......... and obviosly the right sized domes awell may as well get some porting done while its all apart should be good when i get it all back together
-
ok so im confused i bought a modquad head right, with 21cc domes so i could still run pump gas anyways i put it on without looking, stupid mistake and then i blew my top end in my bike about 2 weeks later when i pulled the head off i noticed on each dome is has the number 17 engraved on them but still on the packaging of my domes it said 21cc so what domes do i have 21 or 17cc? now second question if i have 17cc domes and trying to run pump gas in them instead of race gas would that have helped cause my top end to blow, there was a hole in my left piston right under the plug although the bike has alot of miles on it, it was bound to happen soon enough
-
since the front water pocket on the rz is bigger does that mean the front stud is farther up? like can i use my modquad head on those cylinders or do i need the rz head too?
-
wicked thanks i seen the difference but that was a really good view of it somebody who does run them can you please post pictures or what exactly you did to make your pipes work with those cylinders thanks
