cross over tube or boost bottle
macgillivary replied to macgillivary's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
well like many people i did waste my money a while ago on a boost bottle so i have both im just wondering if it is absolutely necessary to have either or, i got something to fit over my bigger carbs but adding in the hole for the tube or bottle is gonna be a pain so im wondering if you can get away without running one im broke as fuuuuuck and well i rigged something up that will work although damn that boss intake looks nice -
well the shee is done cuz im sick of cracking stock boots so i came up with a great way of using part of my stock boot but that will fit over my bigger carbs but it will eliminate the cross over tube or boost bottle now i could rig it in there but would make it a bit harder to do for now so im wondering if it is really necessary to have one there or can i get away without having a tube or bottle i heard its based on your cc's and well my banshee is 0.02 over so whats that 352cc thanks

thanks guys took it over to a car shop where i know the guys pretty good spun it off amazing it was almost depressing watchin it spin off like that after i tryed so hard made me feel weak hahaha
-
haha i know they are bling, just wondering if i can get away without one until i get one i just rebuilt my shee and im suuuuuuuuuper broke
-
well i cant decide how i want to groove my new tamers lets see yours looking for a hard bite something good for trail and mx thanks
-
sorry i meant from the carb to the engine not to the airbox
-
haha alright thanks ill have to take it to a shop borrow theirs for a couple minutes to pop it of,f though do you put the bike in gear or what? i dont wanna mess anything up when i do this and have never done it before so i wanna know all the steps, thanks
-
i guess i should specify more when you take it off do you put the bike in gear or what? cuz i cant get enough tension to get that nut off, had my back brakes on, and nothing and im not sure about putting it in gear but i imagine if i did it would just move the bike, or if you put it against something i would say its on there tight enough it will just spin the tires ya know i read where somebody did it before with the spark plug wrench or somethign in the stock tool kit but i couldnt figure out how that would work i couldnt find that topic either. hopefully that person will see this soon enough
-
ok so im unfortunate and dont have an impact wrench is there any way to get that flywheel nut off? got my puller, lightened flywheel, and ricky stator plate just gotta get that damn nut off of there and take off my stock flywheel any suggestions on doing it without an impact wrench? thanks
-
anyone know where to get a cheaper pair of big intake boots for 34-36mm carbs instead of the whole pro design kit for more then what i want to pay im sick of cracking stock boots if not my cheap self will have to fork out some more cash i guess another question if i take the parking brake off is it possible that dirt and grime will get in my caliber or brake fluids without putting the block plate on? thanks
-
oh my parking brake doesnt work its just still there heres another question i got though if you remove it, do you really need the block plate? mainly waht i need to know is if i take it off is it possible that mud and dirt will get into my caliber somehow? i do alot of dirty riding so just wondering

thats $2500 canadian, the guys from newfoundland ya man i hear ya though i just got mine back fresh rebuild cost me $1900 canadian, not as much as yours but still does a hurting on the wallet i couldnt get mine to go right after the rebuild either as you can see in my topic "shee was so close" turned out to be the dumb tors, mechanic hooked up the parking brake connector
-
jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez man o man i feel dumb i tryed new plugs, had swithced my carbs took my flywheel cover off and could not for the life of me figure out what it was ended up being the smallest dumbest thing the mechanic hooked up the wire from the parking brake that is iwth the tors system i believe it is anyways ya that was my problem way to much effort for the smallest problem thanks tho guys guy that said the parking brake thing well i overlooked it just looked at the black box and the actual carb connecting wires thanks for the help and suggestions though guys off for a break in ride now
-
yaaaaaaaaaaa i know they are big i got a really good deal on them so it was hard to pass it up only paid $120 canadian for em and they worked good while the bike was running
-
well for the heck of it i said lets try new plugs the easiest thing to try still no go tho, big idles fine bit of a pinging though wierd, not from the motor but pinging from the pipes more then normal before i hack into the stator side might try my old carbs later on see what comes from that any suggestions? im still leaning towards the timing being wrong but worth a shot to try the carbs before i tear right into her
-
the only thing i did with the parking brake since was take it off the caliber then put it back on so i dont think it should be that i got a lightened flywheel and adjustable plate to put on here just waitin for my puller so maybe when i pull that side off ill see that its put on wrong or the key is wrong or something wrong there ya know
-
no i got mikuni 35's im thinkin something with the timing possibly why it would fire on one side then the other but i wanna hear what you guys think first but i do have my stock carbs here might be worth a shot to slap those in there and try them out tomorrow see what happens
-
ok well it doesnt completly not go bike fired up perfect on a fresh rebuild wooooooo i was so glad to hear it run the problem is as soon as you touch the throttle for a split second its ok but then it bogs and doesnt quite die but almost, no power at all so i thought it was a carb problem, but instead of pulling them off i inspected further then i noticed that when you give it gas it only fires on one cylinder, so theres the bog but doesnt quit and no power now the odd thing is, is that it goes from one cylinder to the next it will run on the right, then the left, then back to the right and so on so i shut her down and wanted to see what you guys make of the problem now i didnt do the engine work myself so im not sure how everything is hooked back up on the stator side, possibly something wrong there, or maybe he did somethign else wrong anyways please help and let me know what you think it is anyone who had a problem like this id really be happy to hear oh ya i checked out the tors wires they are still all unhooked so its not the problem there Thanks
-
Hey you know those air mixture screws on your carbs I got mine set at 1 and a half turns just curious what exactly they do mine have fallen out before but it didnt seem like the bike was running bad or anything, just replaced them and was set to go again so what happens if you turn them tighter or looser? thanks
-
ya loco i wondered that too how much more power or what kind of power does the cr gain over the banshee motor?
-
I used a marker too but a razor blade and just kept cutting deeper with each slice after that some sand paper to smooth it out and it looks good
-
did you have you carb apart right before this happened? i know this happened to me, I took my carb apart but put my float back in wrong and it leaked all out if you didnt have it apart i would say a stuck float
-
tryed doing this for so long and still nothing now what i noticed is that when you take the line off and press the pedal no fluid is coming out which was not like before, before fluid was coming out, even though there is fluid there, i put it in but it doenst seem to travel to the other end any suggestions on this? Thanks
-
o man this sucks i put on new rear brakes but for some dumb reason i took the brake line off in the process anyways now the brakes are on the bike but when i press my brake pedal they dont work, the pedal goes down but no pressure on the pads there is still fluid in the lines, maybe not enough? when the line was off and you pressed the pedal you could see the fluid come out air in the lines causing problems? how do you get the air out? orrrrr what is the problem? Thanks
