  1. Bump, One last time before I start calling builders. I just like having all the ducks in a row before I waste people's time
  2. Update on MR. CAM SWAP Brad M [email protected] Hide details To: BBrett Provins Date: January 28, 2013, 10:56 PM no one on that site kno shit bro .........i turned it into a 4-stroke then installed it..its custom bro. soo sit down. or come race me for ur "championship ice racer banshees"...ill make sure to bring ma trailer so i can tow all them home
  3. When you install it you set it to the desired amount using the markings on the plate it self. Then line up the setting you choose to the line created by the case halves.
  4. Ok, there are a few different ways to adjust timing with a few different products. Degree Key: basically a different woodruff key that tilts the fly wheel a touch forward to gain timing. They tend to shear off so they're garbage in my mind Aftermarket CDI: lots of ignitions out there allow you to run either pre set or custom ignition curves. Great idea, typically not reliable and there tend to be a lot of issues with some of the Dyna ignitions not accepting reprogrammed curves. Some are good some are bad. Buyer beware. Timing Plate: this is by far the most reliable way to change timing although it requires a little work. You can mod your stock timing plate to tilt clock wise a few degrees or buy an aftermarket plate. Lots of good stuff out there. Main decision is to decide whether you want Billit or cast. Billit is cheaper then hell now and totally worth it to pay the extra couple bucks. I have seen the cast come apart on stroker motors so I personally steer clear. The other plate options are the ones that stay fixed behind the flywheel but allow you to move your pick up with out messing with wrenches behind the flywheel. A plate will be the easiest and most reliable way to mess with timing. Lots of different plates for sale on the for sale section here.
  5. DMX, then be done. Then when every one asks what the new motor is, you get to say "Oh, it's just a little 4 mil......."
  6. So I emailed this dude about the CAM MOD in his Banshee here's the way it went. But I do know banshees very well and I am a member of BHQ and the only reason I found your link is because it was posted on Banshee HQ in a section where people post retarded people trying to sell their junk. I have owned banshees for over a decade and have a few ice racing championships and clearly know my shit. By the way how do you put a cam in a banshee? I'm posting all your emails on banshee HQ in the best of Craig's list section. Good luck with your sale. B Brett Provins to Brad 11 minutes agoDetails By the way. I emailed to let you explain your self, but then you email with BRO in all your replies. Not the most professional way to conduct business. Then you assume I'm gonna go make my self look dumb. Take a photo of the cam location on that motor and I'll believe you. Not possible with our swapping a 4 stroke motor. Reply Forward
  7. Amazing how much of this DM stuff has been floating around lately
  8. So Jim, I made another post about this same sort of package (http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=163092#entry1435579), but my only concern in the set up is is it possible to get it to run cool? I keep hearing the horror stories about them over heating. Just wondering if there is much more that can be done after adding coolant capacity. Maybe tweak the water jackets? I've even been pondering a fan.
  9. Meh, don't bother with that Vito's kit. It will take money to get it to run really good and in the end your displacement is not really much more the. You can achieve running a ported 4 mil stock cyl. As far as I'm concerned, stockers are performing with the 4 mil servals and most mediocre big bores out there. I would just sent your current cylinders out for porting and be ahead with both your dollars and performance.
  10. Thread Mining on the DM situation. So John, what ever happened with this Duner DM?
  11. McCoy is one of the best. There's an opinion that holds weight.
  12. X2 for Mull. There is nothing wrong with cutting a stock head and re chambering the domes. I had to use a stock head when I ran my Big bore motor and it even ran about the same temp as the PD cool head
  13. Paulie, we are referring to what is known as the Stock Cut, EZ Shift, EZ Cut Pro Mod, Stock Mod. What most people believe is that they just cut every other dog out of the gear engagement areas. That is OK, but a good prepped on over ride tranny is so much more then that. My Pro Mod has so much work in to it, it is friggin rediculous. I set it next to a normal Un touched tranny to really see the differences and they really add up. I can shift it like butta' every time the way it is set up now and if I do it right I shift with out the clutch. Greg at WCR did a fantastic job but I'm just not a fan of his business practice any more so I'm seeking out a new tranny guy.
  14. Pretty fair of you Slow. I find the amount of info you have posted to be super helpful and I think it is done in a way that gives the knowledge to start and experimenting with your own set up to find what works. It is good that you leave out specific baselines out so that it makes people have to take the knowledge posted and apply it to actually learn their own bikes.
  15. Nay on the Twister. I'm literally looking to mimic the curves of a 10mm serv out of a 4mm. And a 4mm DM with lower port timing seems to be the best way to do so. The heat thing is the only thing hat worries me. Is it possible to open the water jackets up on these things at all.
  16. Wow, pretty smart ass answer. Maybe you should learn to spell standard before you wanna try to make someone look like a moron with such a pompous answer.
  17. Oh, dat video splains it. That bike a rocket ship! Y'all need sumtin to out run dat thing? Sheeeit, gon hav 2 git a 10 stroke!
  18. Well, about as cheap as you are gonna get is doing a 4mm stroker in your stock cylinders. No spacer plate, get a used cool head and have a builder set you up the correct domes when you send them your cylinders for port work to go with the new 4mm stroke. Once all the internals are taken care of you can change the external bolt on stuff as money permits in stages. But off the bat, you should definitely do your crank, porting, head/domes, exhaust. For reeds you can run new petals in your stock cages. You could even try porting your own cages with a little research, the stock carbs will be ok for a while but you will never let the bike run near its potential till you have something to match your set up. Don't worry about the intake unless you are going with bigger carbs. Do make sure that if you are running stock intakes already that there is no boost bottle involved in the equation. Just run a stock crossover pipe. Then comes your filter selection. You want something to be protected in the woods or wet muddy conditions? Run a stock air box with a Pro Flow style filter and no lid. If you aren't mud boggin' get a set of pods. Down the road grab your self a timing plate. It's easy HP. That should get ya started.
  19. The Two Stroke Shop is supposed to be recovering. Wayne and Stephen are splitting ways and Stephan I believe is taking the reigns 100%.
  20. Something for everyone. It will be a blast and it's right off the deck of the White Lake Inn. Awesome prizes, give aways, and some of the best Pizza and drinks! http://www.whitelakeracing.com/
  21. Sheeeit! Those machine marks are sexy! Kinda like pierced nipples on a hot girl. I mean normal nipples are cool, but nipples with a little bling........ Tasty.
  22. The process I'm referring to is when builders take the cylinder and remove material from the base of the jug so that the timing is lower. It was a sort of common practice before the servals were out. Builders would do it to 7mm cubs and configure them to work with a 4mm crank. It would effectively give the the motor more torque by lowering the timings. Although a decked 4mm cub would usually come in around 80-85 HP at peak it would have a solid 50 ft lbs. of torque with a very usable curve and that's on gas. This is how some of the winning Pikes Peak Super Cubs were done as well. I have just never actually rode a DM and I thought that they were pretty much a drag style port format that would not come out of the hole. I have. Even searching for Un ported 4mm DM dyno graphs with no success. So if any one happens to have one please let me know.
  23. The 7 can get you a lot more performance wise. However it will need a little more work to be done properly. JSR makes an unruley 7mm motor.
  24. That is probably is probably definitely not true HOTRODS crank at only $375. Get that in writing and be sure. Way underpriced to be a new crank. Let's not get in to detail, but there is a handful of builders who tried to push the Wang cranks as HOTRODS. Your builder has had at least 4 of these complaints that I've heard of off the top of my head
