  1. Just a bolt on motor? Ditch the 2/1 pipe and intake. You can run DMC, Pro Circuit, PT Mids, T5's, etc. for exhaust. Get a set of 28mm carbs, get a head with interchangeable domes and have some made to bump compression.(maybe have Mull do your stock head) get some reeds, or even new reed/cage combo. Find a decent timing plate and give it 4*. Any more then that and I'd say get some port work and a 4mm stroker crank. Then you could pull a little bigger carb and some better exhaust.

Just thought it was funny. http://www.trx250r.net/forum/lounge/12365-banshee-hq-wth.html People can say what they want, but BansheeHQ has dominated lately. I do remember about 4-5 years ago when there were several Atv/two stroke sites around and several of the HQ members would even frequent them. But they are all dead now or have zero useful content
  3. I am so fucking stoked to see a big motor hybrid set up for Ice Racing! I actually saw one of your links on the TRX site while just browsing for the local racers and was trying to get that video where you go from last to first to upload. Then I saw the pics of the new hybrid and had to get here to check it out. Man Ryder, you sure can keep a secret! Let me know what that thing does.

  5. Some pipe manufacturers sell their pipes with the option of using arresters or not in the silencers. Pretty sure CPI had a set of out of frames with arrested silencers.
  6. Some thing that makes 60+ ft lbs. and 105+ horses in a serval like curve. And it will only break or need a rebuild once a year not directly in my race season. Then put it in a properly built hybrid chassis or Outlaw/Pro trax chassis
  7. I put mine up for 3 1/2 years. Just emptied the tank and carbs. Pulled the bowls and put a shot of WD-40 in the carbs to keep them from corroding. Pulled the spark plugs and dumped a touch of two stroke lube down the cylinders and turned it over by hand to get the parts lubed up. Put the plugs back in. Also unplugged all electrical components and put dialectric grease on every connection. I put a shot of lube on every single moving part and gave grease to every zerk fitting. It's not much work and there are actually some guys who do almost every bit of that minus the oil in the cylinders after every ride and wash.
  8. Personally I like the concept of what the airstryker is supposed to do. It worked on moto cross bikes, but on the banshee it seems that the regular PWK's are the better carb.
  9. I know this is not Atv tires, but he does give some insight to what the studs are actually doing and how to manipulate them for certain actions give it a view and I bet it gets you thinking.

  11. Agreed, if it is just stock stroke long rods, run either a blaster style piston or the Weisco 795 series piston. Then have your head or domes set up according to which piston choice you make. If it is the 4 millimeter stroker long rod crank, you will need to also choose your piston and have the domes cut for the storms and style piston you choose. The difference between a stock and 4 mil dome will be 2mm deeper step and the angle of the squish band will be determined by whether you choose the blaster piston or Weisco 795 piston. To clear things up for you, when the long rod crank came out it was to take stress off the rods in crank rotation yet it also has more dwell time at TDC and BDC. People used blaster pistons because they have a wrist pin height that is 5mm higher in the piston so it could be used in the long rod applications. Then some years back Weisco began producing their own piston for the long rod motors known as the 795.
  12. The point is to put the weight in a more centered location. Think of it this way, if you stand with your feet spread as wide as possible you are distributing your weight out so that there is less pressure at each foot. If you stand with your feet together you are applying your weight to a more concentrated area. So when you see guys narrowing their rear ends up on quads and drag cars it is so that the weight is more focused or concentrated in one area which helps with hook up.

  14. Same here. I have heard of Billit cranks breaking but they were in motors bound for destructive glory! I would've thought a twister 4mm would outlast a HotRods any day. I'm still learning the aftermarket crank stuff though.
  15. First off if your local shop doesnt know what or where to go with your top end, HE IS THE LAST GUY TO BE BUYING ANYTHING FROM! Any engine qualified machinist should be able to tell you what you need. Obviously your guy can't tell you what you need so he would still like to make a buck off you by selling you some of his JUNK! GO ELSEWHERE!
  16. I've stayed out of this and only have this to say. Yeah the Michigan fellas are a tight group and we like it that way. People here will almost always be willing to give you the shirt off their back even Un asked. Call it gay or sentimental but the people here try to take care of their own and always have each others backs and it sucks when you try to help some one out and get hung out to dry. I see why a few fellas are pissed, and Jay did josh a favor by taking care of his debt and josh reniged on it before even communicating the issue, although he already had someone else's money. Josh: you fouled a few plugs on this one and I think you owe some fellas a few rounds at their place of choosing...... Ok a lot of rounds, and apparently a burrito supreme. I think it is time for every one to let this go and.....
  17. Those were my exact choices from the get go Cam. First was a 485 cheetah, then a 10mm serval for simplicity yet super reliable result. Once I spoke with builders on the bigger stroke motors they were weary of how reliable it would be for my type of racing. I'm not a builder, but if two or three of the top names tell me the same thing, it over rules my decision for sure. As far as your comment on over powering the track, I'm not sure where that comes from. Never been an issue for me. I'm pretty in touch with chassis set up and I get that it is my part to make sure it is set up properly. But that doesn't mean you can go sticking a drag motor in a short track bike and just rev it to the moon all day.......

  21. I certainly agree that a DM on gas could not produce 120+ HP. All of the sheets I've seen for them have been about 110 on race fuel. It also hade custom shearer inframes. I'd be happy with 100+ and a solid torque curve
