  1. I remember overlaying the graphs from my big bore 4mm stock cyl motor and had Mike at lakes decipher that type of stuff but I believe he had a way to show the elapsed time on said situation and I vaguely remember the rockets pulled to about 8,500 much faster then the shearers but past that the shearers pulled tire speed faster with about 4-6 mph more. That particular test was done when claims from Mat were "My pipe will come on earlier and carry farther with equal or more torque". Needless to say I didn't buy the set of shearers at that time, as that claim wasn't totally true. All that was done on that test was base line, then jetting was tweaked till AFR's were spot on, then the rocket run was done again before we swapped to the shearers. Once the shearers were base lined the only change in jetting they liked was a little needle adjustment. That motor was like 42 ft. Lbs. (@8300) 72 hp (@9500) on the rockets and 42 ft. Lbs. (@ 8600) 75.4 hp (9800) on shearers.
  2. Honest assessment on why I don't post much about my set up, I'll just copy and paste what I said to Jesse this morning. "Jesse: You've dynod rockets? Me:Yeah, did them on my old stock stroke big bore, 4mm big bore, my current 4mm stock cyl, and a buddy tossed them on the cub he built. Jesse:Ah really. Did you compare them to anything or? What you get out of them rev wise? Me: They certainly come on earlier then shearers but start falling off about 9,500 to 9,800. Love them in trails and shorter tracks, but there just isnt any over rev for the longer straights. Jesse: Ahh good to know. Surprised you never posted anything on em Me: Just no point in posting any thing about my build as it's not a drag bike and it has a short track motor built by passion who happens to not be the fastest drag builder so people would just bitch and argue. Jesse:Very true Me: Motor from Jim with his recommended baseline tune up was 79 hp at the tire with no timing. We leaned it up a pilot and richened the clip one notch and gave it 5* and made 82 on it. Not bad for any "dune" type of port 4mm race gas motor. Made a bit more with more timing and less fuel but AFR's were borderline for real world riding." That combo I referred to is very stout down low as well not a top end only deal. That was with the motor pretty much as it is in my sig. I've made a few changes since and expect more out of it. I guess this is where every one picks apart the numbers and says I altered them?
  3. I do race every season and have since I was about 12. Win some but not all of them. Just no need to get on here and brag if I do. Either way, can't wait to see how this experiment goes.....
  4. ^ have you asked loco? I bet he knows.
  5. Where does such an assumption come from..... Never did I knock your coveted rocket pipe, and yet I get your rediculous comment about not having any experience with them. What about me saying they sign off a little to early for my set up makes you so angry that you have to pick a key board fight to find some way, some thing, or some how to make any thing other then what you believe wrong? People make simple statements and you have this habit of over interpolating what is said and start flexing your ego. Even if people agree with you, and it happens to be in words not in muscle fitness or concrete digest you seem to think its against the grain of what know/think. Relax Dyno sheets? Why I never made any major claims to necessitate posting sheets. Dyno trophy? What kind of statement is that? I didn't try to even make it sound like I am only in to chasing numbers. By the way, if you are telling me experimenting on a dyno is so stupid, why would you go through the trouble of helping to get this big shindig set up at Redline? You make no sense and I see no reason for you to think its meaningful for you to do testing but it's just stupid for any one else.
  6. Negative. I guess from now on I should plow our tracks on ski slopes and do any and all of my testing with the dyno propped on one end so that it sits at a 45* angle.
  7. No, I guess not. I've owned 3 sets though and been on the dyno with 4 different motor combos with the rockets as well. But shit, I've never timed my self driving 6 seconds up a fucking hill so you obviously have to know more then me. (Fucking MEAT HEAD)
  8. Multi stage... Ehh. Been toying with the idea of one of those for the oval bike. Just seems crazy expensive. Any one happy with the Hays unit?
  9. ^ can't go wrong. Don't know if brad is much for the porting, but his trannies and chassis are on par with the best.
  10. Ahh, just try to do every thing these knowledgable fellas have said. If it doesn't work, fire it up and run that pig WOT. It'll quit backing the plugs out eventually. I mean it might not run anymore, but at least you know the plugs are not backing out.
  11. Steer clear of WCR if you need it within a year. His Trannys are fucking great, but his service is shit and turn around time is bogus. He has even resulted to charging people even or they don't get parts and decide to go else where. Plus he's not to good about sending out units in as good of a condition as the core you send in. If you can find a good condition WCR in the for sale section, jump on it.
  12. Google it, or click on site sponsors and the numbers will be there for every one listed
  13. Weisco or WSM N2O has a point.... My buddy Rob's Dad burns sleds up every season and can't seem to figure it out, and refuses to change the OEM jetting specs even though there is a little bit hotter plugs, free flowing filter, and timing.
  14. Try some VF4's or find GOOD used 2's or 3's
  15. This would likely make you happier.. Plus it is a proven combo that has a wealth of info already out there.
  16. Si senior....
  17. Atta boy..... You won't regret the tranny.
  18. Oh, this must be so serious the Yutz must of forgot to type anything
  19. This thread = FACE PALM action
  20. Been using front wheel drive transmission coffins or the Volvo transmission crates. It has a strap to lock the motor in as well as tamper tag spots so you can zip tie the top on. Other wise build a crate that a pallet jack will go in and call freeshippingqoute.com
  21. Rockets are cool for motors that are a similar set up to a (dune) set up, but in my opinion they tend to sign off a touch to early and abruptly...
