It's all business early on, but later in the day there's fellas just hanging out and work becomes very casually executed. Trust me, lots of distractions going on there. It's totally possible that those clips were out of sight and out of mind if this motor went together in the loosey glossy hours.
Jeff does most of his orders late night. I've got a call at about 10 before. But if you're referring to when you're on the net at 3am bouncing from beating your pud to buying parts...... I guess it becomes inconvenient.
FIRST! (Gonna be a shit show)
Your crank is probably way twisted out of phase as well. So if it can be tweaked and re welded, I guess it would run. If it were me, I'd just get a new one.
It'll bolt up, but ride like dog shit. When you hit he brakes the ass will probably go sky high. Kinda scary at the end of a drag strip. Either need an swing arm set up correctly and the proper length shock/strut, Or modify the chassis with a different upper shock mount located up more and farther rearward. That way the shock is more vertical. Not so laid over. Although I know a couple guys in different styles of racing that have had Penske/axis build lay down shocks to go in the stock location that worked pretty well.
The stock dyna curve is not the same as stock OEM. So make sure you clarify which one people are referring to when looking for opinions on what other set ups are using.
With your Dyna and + 6 on the plate that is a lot of advance. Which thread was there photos I your plugs? The track one?
It's fucking OBNOXIOUS!
I got tired of not being able to see a few builders' shit. So. I gave in and signed up a few months ago. Total Mistake. It's so annoying to keep scrolling through page after page of replies and half of ot is repeats.
Square space is cheap guys!
The hard to start is because the pilot is pretty lean. Ok, really lean. You would need at least a 27.5 pilot. Those needles are gonna be a seperate issue as well. I can't understand why almost every rebuild kit has way leaner needles. If both of the originals are in good condition try cleaning them up and run those on the second clip from the bottom.
Copied and pasted from that link:"To verify your pilot/airscrew circuit jetting, start the motor and let it warm up fully; install fresh spark plugs, start it (without using the choke) and let the motor idle for about 10 minutes; pull the plugs and look at the center electrode and base ring; they should be a light chocolate brown color if you're dialed in."
That is not a plug chop. There's a little over interpretation going on......
