  1. The clymer will help. There will be a lot they won't cover that you will find here though. No porn? I tried that. Three weeks in me and the ol' lady were calling girls off back page. Porn is cheaper, let me assure you that!
  2. ^ that
  3. If I wasn't making crippled monies, I would snatch it.
  4. Those are just early pipes. Probably 20-25 years old at least. No o ring to seal. It just slips on the flange. You can try using brake cleaner on the flanges of the cylinder then use red RTV.
  5. This is who I've been using. http://www.line2linecoatings.com I've had great results on two motors with it. They actually prefer coating pistons that have been broken in so they can build up your skirts after they begin to collapse slightly after break in. Take a peek. Helps with lubricity and aids in defense against tuning error. They can work off suggested tolerances but prefer to have actual cylinder measurements.
  6. Try coating them
  7. Shit, that's the only good set up. The Magura with a stainless line blows that streamline set up away. Bump for a bitchin deal!
  8. Probably keeps it slick so spooge doesn't stick so easy. In the end, if they sit they need cleaning.
  9. That^ Maybe some air on a little reducer nozzle. Just gotta be vigilant with that shit. My oxygenated fuel does it every now and again. I usually dump the bowls back in the tank after riding if I know I'm not gonna mess with it in a while.
  10. There weren't any concerns with walking or lifting. That's all good. The concern was after machining we found something fishy looking. Now that something fishy is weeping. I'm just gonna tig it up, clean up the dome side and live with it that's all. I can see his side. I get that the foundry wouldn't of spent time threading or pressing a plug and I get that jerry wouldn't of done it. So I see his resistance as he feels like I'm saying he took a chunk of shit and put a plug in it and whipped I in to the CNC. His job is to take the stock and run the machine and sell the part. Not magnaflux everything and question his supplier. I get that and at this point I doubt he physically put it there. But in the end there is section of material that is opening up almost right in the middle of this thing. (Our earliest PM's I mentioned it might be something to at least talk to supplier about) That is all.
  11. ^ big problem on the long trail rides. Especially on snomo trails. Kinda sweet watching the big boosted sleds pull up and see premium sold out, but flip a few ignition switches and turn the boost controller down and they're good to go. Years ago you were just fucked.
  12. those pipes need to make heat to work. That also is a factor. Well, one of the minor ones...
  13. Try sending the pistons you wanna use to line2line.
  14. ^ do all that before you regret it and developa problem chasing the dragon.
  15. Here is a link I have had saved. I did the same on one of my motors many years ago. It took a few tries to get a stiff enough plexi that was stiff enough to seal up with just three screws. Masked of a circle just inside of the screws and sprayed the outside 3/8"ish ring the color of the clutch cover. Then I used that Annodize rattle can paint to put a translucent blue over the inner circle. Cleared it with gloss enamel. Actually lasted quite a while. http://www.thequadconnection.com/walkthroughs/banshee-see-thru-clutch-cover-mod/
  16. Yes, there are quite a few slick set ups where guys have modified the stock cover for easy access.
  17. Not yours. Just asking if that is a scratch?
  18. Already told you there is no point as you aren't doing shit . That is not a scratch. It goes through to the top. Motor kept burbling in to the coolant. So I put the pressure cap on the rad and it was bleeding in to the cylinder. I hooked up the leak down and pulled the top shell. It made bubbles next to the spark plug where the questionable area is. If I do bother with photos, You're gonna have to wait a while for some photos sir....... Just another example of a leak in the dome area that I have a photo of. Don't suppose that's a scratch as well? I'll make sure to mail it back if the tig weld Larry puts on it doesn't hold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  19. Trickedcarbine: You are rediculous! It goes all the way around. I apologized after the scrap comment and asked you to explain what I saw. After back and forth you mentioned it could be a smelting bubble or something. Your words not mine. It's not physically moving but it is weeping pressure in to the coolant system. I'm not wasting any more time trying to prove anything to you. You're not doing anything about it any way. So, what's the point. You've had an excuse the whole time for every aspect. If I prove to you it's leaking there, you'll just blame the material and say that it's not your fault, sometimes things aren't perfect, things happen, oh well it's a custom race engine stuff breaks, you can't see everything. I get it. You don't give a fuck, but you would prefer I shut my mouth and keep it hush hush. I will go my way, you go yours. But when people ask I'll be honest.
  20. High compression oval track motor. Regular stuff wouldn't stay sealed up I had a girdle head that was doing a great job but I can no longer get the dome inserts for it so I bought the chariot. Dunno, there's a stupid rebuttal for everything brought up so I guess I'm stuck. Already spoke with Doc Fang Engineering and he said we can try tig welding it in the dome and the top side and see I it holds up. This is why I didn't say shit at first. There is just no reasoning. PITA
  21. Packard for the side cover and bearing support. Comes with a nut as well.
  22. Got an I phone nobody uses map quest anymore. That just shows what kind of moron you are.
  23. Tell me what you wanna see. You already saw it and did nothing. So if I go through any more time and effort to show you what the heck is going on in here and I'm not $500 bucks richer, you are comfortable knowing I will probably bounce your head off the nearest object?
  24. I'm saying the little pack man looking deal is weeping. I'm done. Obviously you can make excuses for everything with out ever actually having a solution. OP, tell your buddy if he wants to ride this week Packard will get him what he needs now.
