The problem is the straight flanges. It's just not gonna happen so do your self a favor and chuck them. Look for angled pods from just about any vendor in the sponsor section.
Yes, absolutely. It'll freight train early on and taper off pretty quick. That would be a fun little low end combo. You can always switch pipes later if you're not happy.
Ok, how bout the kicker gear? Is it wobbly? If it's starting to get play, it can spit the clip off if not fixed with a new bushing. And it can definitely be what's making the irregular ticking.
Not many R2's out there. Plenty of original Rockets though. Why not see if you can get those Aussie Shearers for $400-450 and re chrome them? (Talking about kamikaze's?)
Puller will be reverse threaded as well. Make sure the threads on the puller and flywheel are clean. A dab of oil is nice as well.
When it all goes together, set the pick up gap to about .015 thou, you can file the nubs just a touch if they are nasty and uneven.
I'd do all the simple stuff first just to make sure the motor isn't toast on that side.
Compression test, Leak down,Clean and inspect carbs set the float on the leaking side, Check plugs.
If all that checks out, I'd say get in to the electronics.
I got my rockets to go from peaking at 9,500 RPM and 79HP to peaking 10,100 with 83HP and no change in torque curve except that it just climbed a few more RPM and made a couple more Ft Lbs. after the switch to larger diameter stinger. Similar principal applies to these. There is just so much chamber volume the only way to get them moving the gas/heat is with a huge stinger. No silencer, just stinger tube like Tyler's old Queerers were on his hill bike.
Doubtful the SLP's will be suitable on the 421 and up stuff. I may be wrong, but it's Possible they would be good for a tight woods serval I suppose if that's all ya did with it.
Because they are the only company in recent history that can provide an option that's at least 75% as nice as OEM. But it seems they can't manage to fill any orders.
