  1. White Maiers. Is that the gas tank and radiator shroud as well?
  2. I remember when the Cub cylinder was as exotic as a Big ol DMX. They were out there but not in droves like today. You would go to the track and only see one or two out of 20 bikes with a cub. The only bikes that were running them down were Triple Port set ups. Shit that was back when guys like RDZ, GRR and Dan Hull were making a GOOD name. Kind of miss those days. I had a lot more extra money to blow on banshees then.
  3. Haha, that's exactley what everyone I know that has done them has said.
  4. Re chambering is to actually change the shape and Size of the combustion chamber. I guess you should just bolt those Bill's pipes on once just to see if it's ok for you. But I bet if you got something better to run with those 28's you may be happier. In all honesty, the Toomeys are overrated IMO. They seem to have a flat laggy feeling right when you wick the throttle. I'd even try pro circuits or FMF's. Maybe a new set of SLP pipes.
  5. You looking for a stretched drag bike of something that can carve a turn?
  6. Tip: abandon spray chrome....
  7. Fuckin tits...
  8. Your 2-1 with the Vito's Fat Bastards combo is definitely not jiving well. That's a torquey little Low RPM intake with an inframe drag pipe. Those 28mm TM's would be really great for what you want if you are willing to change a few things up. I'd bet you can trade those Fat bastards for just about any Pro Circuit, FMF, Toomey, etc. If you're ok with spending I'd say get your head rechambered as well. Not just milled. Some decent reeds and a timing plate would be cheap as well. Are you wanting to stay on pump fuel? And what kind of fab work did you do on it?
  9. Stage 3's. If you dare try and ride across a choppy part of a field with the Marvin Shaws, you're getting bucked off. The rear can probably get away with a nice rebuild and re valve.
  10. I'd say you are in the ball park on that Slo.
  11. Neighbor kid thinks he can diagnose every issue by revving the piss out of any car, truck, bike, snowmo.... It's funny really. He had a valve tick, rather then wait for his old man or I to take the cover off and see what was wrong, he just revved the hell out of it till the rocker just came right off...
  12. Put the cover on with just a bolt or two. Then pull the elbow toward the stator side as much as possible to take out the slack. Use a dead blow punch or wood block and a mallet to try and tap it free. Whatever you do, don't pry on the cover between it and the case.
  13. Seriously think it's the carbs or some other electrical component. The Dynas have their quirks, but running on one CYL is not one I've ever seen any CDI do.
  14. Just thought I'd give a shout out to ASV!
  15. They are definitely stock. The Athena's have a few discrepancies if you know what to look for. But to the untrained eye they look stock. Still junk though.
  16. Agreed. If that was the case, you would be seeing 100 hp stock cyls that have curves like JD's redline 4mm with SLP's. There are Spread Bore Cyls and cases for the bigger stroke stuff. This is the exact reason why the modern 250cc stuff can make such good power for their size. One big single cylinder with massive amounts of transfer, all the while there is still tons more material to remove.
  17. Give the banshee a try. Is the chassis as moto cross ready as a new 450? No, but they are just so much more friggin fun then any 450 I've rode. There is a wealth of aftermarket stuff out there to re do just about any part you can think of.
  18. Is the kick starter pulled off?
  19. Whole section of dyno combos. A few have track times as well.
  20. Ya, sleeve is right in the water jacket. (IE, so large they choke transfer ports)
  21. Doubt that he had a failing CDI cause the 7 hp. The beauty of the dyna is the ability to add ALOT of timing early on to get the bike moving, then pull all that timing back as the RPM's go up. With the plate you can only give it enough timing till the motor is actually on the edge of fighting it self or detonating. So you are limited on how much you can add since the plate is fixed in one position. With the CDI imagine someone slamming the plate to full advance off idle, then rolling it back as the RPM's go up. If you have first hand info from guys you ride with, why look further?
  22. LED has a nifty bracket posted on Facebook. Wouldn't take much to make something.
  23. Timing is timing. Doesn't matter if it's from a different CDI or a plate. There is no doubt an improvement. The allure of the dyna or any programable CDI is to be able to change and tweak timing at all RPM's. That said, they Dynas and other knock offs are plagued with issues you would expect to not deal with when paying almost $400. That said. Adjustable timing plates are $50 and fool proof.
  24. Who's domes? Are they Vito's or some replacements? It's possible they are a bit short so the O ring on the dome lip isn't getting a good seal. Had that issue when someone tried to put no name domes in an old Hemi Head.
