  1. Your answer's a phone call away. Why not ask the guy that sold them to ya?
  2. McKenzie Plating in Springfield, OR does beautiful work, and they do quite a bit of ATV stuff. To have those pegs plated will probably run $50 to $75 though, but you won't be disappointed in the quality. You can PM bk_banshee on here as well. He's got his foot in the door with a plater in Portland that also does good work, maybe a little cheaper and quicker too.
  3. do the stock rubber lines expand and stretch enough to make the brakes "mushy"? I guess I've just never really had any problems with the front brakes not wanting to throw my ass over the bars, but then again, I only ride in the sand.
  4. nice! very nice.
  5. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Since he's running those big carbs, the air velocities will be down, so you may have to make up for it with larger than typical jetting. But 250 is hella huge.
  6. A handful of guys that run them on here swear by them. I think the 36 is still on the big side for a single carb setup.
  7. Yeah, they're very sharp. Had one on my last bike. Firehead, link one of the see through thingies you mentioned....
  8. I understand where you're coming from. And that's how racing should be. We all have our builders and egos to uphold, but we're all here for the same reason.....to bond as brothers in the pursuit of speed, via the twin cylinder monkey on all our backs. Now as long as we can agree on that, and that any Redline bike would hand any PPFAST bike its ass, then I'd say we have something to build upon, Dave.
  9. in my opinion, that's a huge carb for your motor. but, it should kill your bottom end rather than your top end. 250's seem hella huge to me too
  10. true dat
  11. Come on now man. You seem like a cool cat. I think Dave started the smack talking in this thread with the PPP 180HP port job thing. No matter who wins, the Passion/FAST thing won't go away. If Brad somehow manages to beat Dave at his home track, as Dave has stated, his cylinders aren't FAST. If Dave beats Brad, it won't be fair, because Brad's never ran that track, or sand at 300'. How much of racing is really motor anyway? Hookin the bitch up, and riding are way more important, and ironically, Jeff and Jim have nothing to do with either. One thing that is nice to see is the racing moving from the keyboards to the track.
  12. Yeah, I had one on my old 4mm, and it was super easy to polish too, like fouledout said. Never had a problem with it....
  13. Yeah, Jeff and Sandy are known for having extremely insane customer service. Every time I find a cheap drag axle for sale and I ask Cameron, he says the same thing.......he wouldn't buy another axle from anyone other than JJandA. FouledOut, I got the same exact answer from lonestar one time about running their axcaliber axle with stock hubs. I knew the shit would work, but wanted to make sure. They told me they couldn't guarantee it would work. But another time, that same company shipped me out a free caliper bracket boss, because the one I got off ebay didn't come with one. Anyway, yeah, I agree with you FireHead. There seems to be an abundance of really great, helpful folks in the Northwest for our sport.
  14. I thought it was Janssen that had the boots for the heims to keep them protected from sand and dirt getting in them. They looked like an absolute bitch to put on.
  15. I don't think that leaving the transfers narrow to increase the air/fuel velocity would make up for oversized crankcase volume.
  16. I think the trinity pipes are similar to T5's for jetting. I can't remember for certain, but I'd think your main jet would be in the 350'ish area. RNBrad on here would be a better guy to ask. He ran them on his 4mm stock cylinder motor before he upgraded to his cub. I'm not sure if he was running stock carbs though. Good luck
  17. very very interested, send me a pic to [email protected]
  18. For banshee's, I'd imagine alot of it comes down to piston availability, and working within the confines of the cylinder height. I've got a pretty good spreadsheet of wiseco's pistons that Calvin gave me, and they don't make too many models with a given wrist pin diameter, bore, and pin offset. Adding 15mm of spacer plate, or even 10mm would yield a ton of crankcase volume too I'd imagine. In general, for 2 strokes, I'd guess that it comes down to tradeoffs... Longer rods give you less rod angle and sideload on the pistons and longer dwell times. But they also give you more mass and higher piston velocities. For target ratios, Dan Wade @ Patriot, or Calvin Pollet would be good people to ask about this.
  19. what elevation are you at?
  20. that would probably vary from motor to motor depending on the pipe, port work, etc. some motors may benefit from the added crankcase volume, others might not like it so much.
  21. Yeah, pretty sure the basket needs to come off before you can even access the screw in the end of the drum.
  22. bansheefreak and smkmupbanshee both have or have had orange/black shee's that look pretty good. could PM them and ask for some links to pictures
  23. And here you have both points of view being validated. The T6 may work a little better on a stock motor. But guess what he's doing with them.... You can decide on the now, or on tomorrow. Myself, I'd rather plan ahead some.
  24. Wow, shocker, Dave, we have a different point of view. No, I've never owned a set of T6's. 2 of the guys that got me into riding banshees did though. They both had T5's at the time and "upgraded" to the brand new critically acclaimed T6's. One was a mechanic at a yamaha shop, the other just an enthusiast like me. Both of them were severely disappointed that they spent the scratch on them. And if you don't believe that Toomey had visions of people that were so happy with the T5, that they'd get the T6, you are extremely naive. So, as stated before, I'd recommend getting the T5's, for exactly the same reasons I stated before. I'm not saying you are wrong for recommending the T6's. If someone has an opinion that is different from yours, it will be ok, I promise you.
