  1. Merry christmas, and a drunkin new year to all!!
  2. rumor has it the ceramic balls are breaking, I personally run the pancake bearing and have not had any problems what so ever
  3. oh boy its gonna be a fun year next year! dave is a stand up guy and bike runs hard!! have riden it my self. runs high 4's all day with out lockup or override! good thing I bought that nos kit!
  4. what kind of cash are you lookin to spend??
  5. well if we are collectin comision checks I am thinkin I should be first in line right dave?? I would get the 115 rod 4 mill crank from jeff, have the cylinders ported to match and get a set of domes cut for your head. I would also run cpi pipes for a dune motor, my friend has jeffs dune port 350 and it holds its own on the drag strip, and it is a blast to ride around in the dunes!!
  6. did mi sand slingers crash?? I have not been on there in a long time. good to see ya back on the hq anyway
  7. still had the 35's on the back in that pic. and the rear cab mounts are starting to sag alittle. this truck sees lots of off road. fun toy for sure!
  8. I bought a set of 40-17-16.5 gumbo mudders off of a friend of mine. truck is getting big, had to go out and get a dana 60 cause the 44 axle shafts just would not hold up any more!
  9. I bought a set of 40's for my truck so I dont need these anymore. They are 35-14-16.5 ground hawgs, in great shape, used mostly off road. no big cuts or tears in them. would like to get 250.00 obo. for just the tires. have pics upon request.
  10. you should have the crank checked to make sure its true if you have ran it for any length of time! my buddys crank was out of phase by 14 degrees, in other words the crank had spun on the pin and the rods where not where they where suposed to be!! and also make sure you weld all the pins! inners and outters! I had one come apart and it made a big mess of things!
  11. I ran a set of comp cut 9 paddle brats on my drag bike and they hooked great in the light sugar sand in oklahoma but when I can home and tryed them at silver lake mi where we have alot of wet heavy sand, they seemed to spin more than my haulers. I still have the brats and I run them on my play bike, but now I am running super light 11 paddle extreams. the brats are a great tire and hook real hard!! just not in the wet stuff!! hill shooting though they work awsome!! air pressure also plays a big roll in how they hook! I found that if you run them right around 4 1/2 psi they work the best. (for me anyway!)
  12. I bought a 89 and an 87 roller with one complete engine, and about 4 boxes full of parts for 600.00 paid 3500 for my 01 with about 2 hrs on it. guy broke his leg riding it and decided to sell it!
  13. man thats one hell of a deal!! merry christmas to all!!
  14. you have alot of other mods you should do before you even think about alky. its a whole new game jetting wise and tuning.
  15. I am from brighton between lansing and ann arbor, I am up at silver lake all the time, I also ride bulls gap, irons trails, the mounds, and white lake in the winter
  16. for the money you are going to spend on the super cub I would buy A big cheetah. you can go alot bigger on the bore with the cheetah, they have power valves, bigger intakes, and set up right will make more power in the end. they are pricey but its only money. I know I will be building either a 14 or 16mill cheetah next. like they say "go big or go home!" Washburn, you should see alot of dave and I up at silver lake this up coming year, we are going to have basicly the same engines so it should be fun to watch. let us know when you are heading up I am game for meetin up with ya, and I am sure dave is too.
  17. thats why I bought a lifted four wheel drive truck. now I just put the bike in the back and drive right in. not the most cost effective but it works none the less.
  18. sparks, tilt and bud light for me!
  19. I am running super tecnaplate at 32:1
  20. good to hear ya got it goin!!!
  21. I cant wait till next year, sould be a good time seeing how close dave and my bikes are. may just have to hold to that 10 mill crank see ya all up there in the spring
  22. what is the number that is stamped on the side of the rod? real easy way to tell what you have as long as no one has messed with it. also I would use differnt pistons and get your domes cut before I would use a spacer plate! those things are knowen for air leaks.
  23. listening for it is about the best way. I would check your compression again maybe with someone elses gauge or something cause with 18cc domes at 2500 ft you should be in the 170psi range. are you sure the guy that put the engine together used the right pistions? cause if he put long rod pistions on a standard rod motor you are gonna get low cranking comp. can you see the numbers on the top of the pistions still? if so what are they? should be able to check the stroke by measureing the pistion at tdc then measureing it at bdc stock stroke is 54mm
  24. thinner base gasket will reduce squish but I think you are in a good spot with yours, you reduce the squish you increase the chances of detonation. if you want more bottom end I would say turn the timeing up! what elevation are you at? sounds real low on the compression. are you holding it wide open when you check it?
