  1. 110 should be fine, but I would check the compression just to be sure.
  2. what happens when the crank seperates and the pistons come out of phase? buddys bike did this and it detonated to the point that it burned a hole in the piston, f'ed the head up and trashed the cylinder. this was on an 06 with just pipes. But I think you should listen to your buddy and not get it done. let me know when ya need a top end I have all kinds of spare parts lying around.
  3. yeah you will be ordering a override for sure. my bike would not shift with my cub and it was only on gas and no lock up at the time. bike looks good though man. have fun with it!
  4. dont really need one untill you get up in the 85-90 hp range, till then you are just adding rotating mass to the clutch and spending money on a modded side cover and lock-up
  5. I think you will be allright with 600, if it is warped real bad you can drop down to the 240, remember with sand paper the higher the number, the smoother it is. in other words the 240 will remove a whole lot more material at once compared to the 600.
  6. use a piece of wet sand paper with some water and rub the cylinders and the head on the paper in a figure 8 pattern till they are even.
  7. dont buy a spark plug lock! fix the problem! plugs are backing out from detonation, if you put a band aid on the problem it will just move to somewhere else!
  8. bump it up for a straight up guy! I got dibs on the 6 over if it does not get sold with the chasis :biggrin:

  11. just a heads up, my buddys 06 banshee just melted down because the crank seperated and came out of true. this was a brand new bike with t-5 pipes and v force reeds. thats it. so good luck with that crank, I hope it dont trash your cases!!

  15. I rode some trails around here with my extream tripple buffs with no problems, the trails where loose sandy type. my friends did not much care to ride behind me but other than that they worked great!!
  16. My alky bike did this to me right after I rebuilt it, I took a pop bottle with some race gas in it and sprayed alittle in both intakes through the carbs and it fired right up! have not had a problem since.
  17. I would get a cool head with domes matched to the type of gas you want to run, or you can have your stocker cut to raise the compression, tores eliminator kit is not worth any hp but it will save you some head aches if and when it fails, v force reeds are good for a few hp. I list goes on and on, just depends on how deap your pockets are. good luck and have fun!

  19. opinions are like ass holes, everyones got one! let the kid spend his money on a cub and detune it. I am sure a builder would just love to take 1500.00 of his money rather than 300.00-500.00! I get so sick of these questions seems alot of people want to build a drag bike but they still want to lug it through the trails. it dont work! I started out like this, then I bought drag pipes, then a lock up then an over ride then alky. now looking back it would have been much cheaper just to build the drag bike and buy a trail bike, rather than buy a bunch of parts, use them for a little while then turn right back around and sell them in order to buy more drag parts. Its your bike man do what you want with it. but remember to build it for how and where you ride it the most! you will be much happier in the long run. Oh and no matter how had you try, there will always be some one faster! its just a fact of life
  20. I just throw my bike in the back of my truck and slip the sparkys on, then when I get in I take them off and throw them under the seat. have not been dbed or stoped yet(knock on wood) have been doing this for three years now.
  21. you wanna go faster, buy some suspension up grades and tune that all in. you would be surprised at how a set of 2+1 a arms and a set of ressey shocks will completely change how your bike handles.
  22. 39 pwks on gas for awhile then converted them over to alky. I think you would be good with the 35 pwks talk to dave about this, he had the same setup you are tryin to put together. shearers and 35pwks. his bike ripped oh and you have to ditch the air box when running small bore in frame shearers, there is no room for the stinger tubes. just get some k and n clamp ons with pre filters
  23. does it still have a key? my 89 would spark every now and then when I disconected the key wires and forgot to hook the two together to bypass it. not sure how it would spark but it would. found the wires and tied them together and have not had a problem since. something to look out for!
  24. they make awesome trail motors! I would by a 10 mill though cause everyones doing it! why do so many people want to take a pro mod drag car to the hot dog stand? it is so much cheaper and better to have your stock cylinders ported for what you are going to be doing rather than buy something you are not going to use it to its full potential!
