my bike kicked back on me one day and busted my clutch cover, upon removal of the cover I found the clip sitting in the bottom of the cases also. I then noticed the bushing was wore out on the idler gear, I guess when they kick back it takes the idler gear out and tosses the clip. just something to watch out for.

switched out the plug caps, no go! started lookin over the cdi box and found a big crack in it, and the side of the box around the wire loom is all cracked, thinkin this is the problem so now I am in search of a cdi box with the old school plugs on it, so anyone in the MI area that has an extra one please get with me asap, this guy is tryin to go ridein this weekend. thanks for all the sugestions guys, also if you dont think this is it please let me know.

I have cought my self doing that a time or too, no big thing man thank you for the help though. I think its electrical, dont sound like detonation from lack of fuel. I am gonna change out the plug caps tonight when I head back over there.

I think I said its breaking up on the top end, and I know that side is rich

friend of mine has a 89 framed banshee with a 97 engine. over the summer he washed his bike after a weekend ride and parked it. this passed week he pulled it out to get it ready to go up riding this weekend and it is braking up real bad on the top end and it will not rev all the way out!! we have changed the plugs cleaned the carbs, put a richer main in it, checked the flywheel for broken magnets, checked the air gap on the pick up coil, checked al the conctions, it is a stock engine other than a timing plate at +4 and t-5s, I am gonna ohm the stator to night and see if thats it, if not I am gonna try my cdi box and coil. when we pulled the plugs one is brown and the other is black and wet. you guys got any ideas??

started my play bike the other day and I started hearing a raddleing noise, so I pulled the clutch cover off to find that the clutch basket moves forward and back so I pulled the clutch basket off and took it apart and found the bushings inside where bad, does anyone know where I can get these or do ya have a part number so I can order them from the dealer?

have a 2-5 in my bike and I love it!! let all my friends ride it all the time and none of them have even heard of an override. its only a few bucks more than a regular so what do you have to lose??

if you go to there web site they have prices per paddle if you send them old tires to have made into paddles. shipping is the most expensive part I believe. I was looking into having an old set of 36" mud tires I had laying around off my mudding truck into paddles but it would have killed me to ship them back and forth

if its a long rod stroker there should be a number on the side of the rod. check and see if there is.

3800 ft and 22cc domes equals low compression, I would drop down to 19 or 20 cc domes and try that if your compression still is not up where you like it I would be checking for air leaks and or leaking head gaskets. my 421 cub only has 170psi at 900ft above see level with 18cc domes.

the compression chart is showing 156 psi at sea level, you should be alright with the 98 octaine but I would mix it like 1 gallon race gas to 4 gallons pump gas just to be safe. your gonna love the new found power from the head. pending on what porting you get you should be fine with the domes you have now, but the best part is you can change the domes out for like 65 bucks if need be later. I personaly ran 19cc domes in my play bike and 18cc domes in my alky drag bike. but I love the smell of race gas :biggrin:

unless you really know how to tune and mess with that big engine you are gonna get your ass busted by a cub motor
