  1. Each has their pros and cons, LSR type vs. JJ&A Type. LSR is lighter. I had one. The con is the splines. You have to make sure the hubs are tight often...and eventually they will wear on the splines. They are tough as nails. A true JJ&A is nice axle. Lifetime warranty. I think a little cheaper than the LSR. It uses a 3/8 keyway for the hubs. I currently use a JJ&A style....there are days I wish I had my old LSR axle. They are both nice, find a used in good shape to save a little money. Modquad makes a pretty nice one as well. Do some research on gun drilled vs. solid, as well as how long you need the axle to be. There is more adjust ability in width on the JJ&A style/Key Style types. Vs. Stock, they are BIG TIME noticeably lighter. Pounds, easily.....
  2. I guess he spent too much time and money on that bike to finish school or to pickup some spell check software. I can't even read all that.... Too funny...don't have time, or I'd mess with him.
  3. I can tell you on more than one occasion Jeff has taken parts off his personal bike for a customer that was in a jam for something. It might contribute to why he doesn't get to ride as much...but...hey, that's life.
  4. There is nothing "gentle" about backloading an override at 8000. I know what is said about backloading them, not breaking forks, just bending/wearing them out after a while, etc. I've always gone on the premise you can backload them all day long under 8K RPM....etc. My experience has taught me otherwise. I'm going to say this, so don't take offense. There is no such thing as a trail bike override. Anyone that thinks they can backload the shit out of a dunable is mistaken. Will it take it a few times? Yep, sure will. After that, it will start to score up the trans shafts and fork shafts from the forks being jammed into their shafts. Andy @MM made a comment about having a trans soon that can be backloaded all the time without hurting the shift forks at all. They are even offering a 3 month warranty. I trust Andy, but...I'm very skeptical of one of these long term...like a full season...or 2 or three. The mod Kevin does will make shifting a higher horsepower bike easier under load. By NO means is it designed to be upshifted under full load at WOT throttle without the clutch. If you want to trail ride a bike and need all 6 gears, this might be the way to go. I have a ton of these transmissions out there....the 2-3 failures I've had the customer fully admitted to backloading the hell out of them to "see how strong they are" or downshifting it under full power without pulling the clutch. I don't consider that a transmission failure, I consider that rider error...or misunderstanding.
  5. You guys are nutswingers.....LOL. J/K. I've talked to Jeff a ton of times over the years, and he's always treated me pretty darned good. Plus...he fully appreciates and endorses FBTs.
  6. Andy, no offense. I can guarantee mine for 3 months too. Unless you ride every day and backload the bejesus out of them, they will last quite a while being abused. Put it out there for an entire riding season of abuse, then see how it holds up...
  7. Since Tuscon is considerably higher in elevation, you may have to take some fuel away as well. D&M does nice work! I weigh 250lbs, ride 300 feet and gear my bike 16/45 to 16/47. Launch in 2nd and trap out in 5th.
  8. Absolutely. If it was in good tune at the hill (which I'm going to assume is the higher of the two in elevation) then without adjustment it would be lean at sea level. And vice versa....if the flat drags are higher in elevation. And I mis-read his post about the dial a jet. I thought it said on the intake side...not between the carb and filter. So...the dial a jet is very similar to a power jet....
  9. My dumb ass was about to ask if it included pistons before I clicked on the second link. This is exactly the motor and combo I want to step up to next year....smoking deal, good luck on the sale!!
  10. That's only because NYUK clearly labels them, self tested and approved.
  11. Interesting...do you have a link for this? I know what a dial a jet is, but...I've always seen them placed before the venturi of the carb (behind the slide) not in front of it. The theory...or I could be wrong...is to use the intake signal to draw fuel out of the bowl into the intake. More fuel with more air. These are the ones I've seen. They are very, very similar in principle and use as a power jet is for the drag/alky crowd. http://www.thunderproducts.com/dial_a_jet.htm
  12. If you didn't have the dial a jet before...and it was working fine, I would just turn it off. I'm assuming you mean an adjustable auxiliary fuel source like us alcohol draggers term a power jet....no? If it was spot on before, and you're flooding it with more fuel...that could very well cause a bog big time. I'm not a hillshooter...so take what I'm about to say with that in mind. I'm assuming since you're on an angle and MUCH more of the weight is rearward...you can get away with much less paddle. 10 over arm on a good running bike with 8 paddles will fry those tires on a flat track ... Unless you're 400 lbs...then, you have other issues, like not enough motor.
  13. The key word in that second link is in lieu of. Which means instead, or in place of. The house passed, the senate rejected...the Bush administration.... I'd need more convincing evidence.. Since you're bored...go for it Wolf Blitzer....
  14. And vibrated like NYUK's XXXLL butt plugs.
  15. Nothing but goods here...wait till he "marks" your shipping package.
  16. Did you actually read what I posted here? Their initial funding was not, I repeat...was NOT part of the TARP deal. Once they filed, then they got TARP funds. That was my point. Please go back and read my posts. I corrected myself. We were both partially right, partially wrong. Who is arguing for argument's sake now?
  17. Ok...Ok...I'll play this game. Greg, I posted they received TARP funds after they filed for bankruptcy. I went back and read your linked article to the Washington Post. Again...link me up a story that proves they got TARP funds before GM or Chrysler declared bankruptcy.
  18. the bike is not in tune...period. With a 10 over swinger, 8 paddle haulers, 14-46 gearing on alky with a 7 mil...that bike on flat ground should absolutely fry those tires with that setup. I don't know if the carbs are way out of tune, if there's a clutch problem...but a simlar setup bike in my experience would need 10-12 paddle extremes with 15-44 to 46 gearing launching in second. A stock motor banshee with a healthy port job on a 4 over arm should be able to fry those tires. I'd be looking into the clutch first, see if something isn't binding up or something. it's entirely possible the carbs are way off too.... When you were hillshooting, was there a large elevation/temperature change as to where you're flat dragging now?
  19. I beat Whitaker's pricing all day long as well as turn around time.
  20. We have NO business in the middle east whatsoever. Period. With the one exception to find Bin Laden. Why do we need to have a military base in operation in that region? To keep an eye on the oil, that's it. Mark my words... As we start building cars that are less dependent on their oil, they will be swimming in it...and they will be begging to sell use more oil at a cheaper rate as well as beg us for our technology. Obviously this will not happen tomorrow. But when it does, we need to flip them the finger and say Fuck Off...that's why we've been saving our own for all this time. We can run off our own supply, period. I'm sure Britain, France, Spain, etc., would be happy to let us have military to keep an eye on the towel heads from there. Russa...can be bargained with. We dont' need the number of troops over there we do now....
  21. Charlie Hustle still...after all these years, has three of the most impressive records. At Bats, games played and hits. (Also the record for outs recorded) He's been out of the leauge for 20 years now. He is a first ballot shoo in hall of famer and should be recognized as such.
  22. For some reason, 28PWKs use a completely different body than the rest of the PWK series. They don't look like the 33, 35 or 39PWK series. But they work just as well!
  23. I know it is. However... I can go to a local store and get Klotz. NO special order, no outrageous price tag...and Klotz has always done me right. I have no reason to change because of a lubrication failure, it flat out works (in my chain saw and weed eater, too...lol) And it's readily available and reasonably priced....
  24. Yep...so a Cheetah that puts out 140 to 150 at the crank is probably 120ish at the rear tires. I would agree with 20 to 25% loss from crank to rear wheels on a banshee trans. That's another reason why you see guys that run snomo bikes building such HUGE motors. They need a lot more power to push the CV type trans and get the power to the ground. Nice part about a snomo bike is consistency. No such thing as shifting too early or late, too much or not enough clutch out of the hole. Time the light, pin it.
  25. Blendzall is OLD school...but very good oil. They've been around for years....
