4mm crank plus vitos super stock pistons =70HP #2
dajogejr replied to BIG B's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Ask whomever is porting your motor what kind of HP roughly.... Also MAKE SURE you tell him that you are running T6 pipes, they do not like aggresive port timing or durations. I have no idea what "race" porting means...but your guy should be able to tell you the port timings and durations, if they're excessive from stock, the T6 pipe is not a great choice.... Don't be too pissed if your HP is only 55 to 60 HP.... -
1-5 Neutral Down Duneable Override
dajogejr replied to theshee's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
That was a steal on the tranny alone, the fact it came with pins and forks made a flat our retarded deal...good for you K! -
Sounds like a plan to me.... Of course, we have to sit around after the race and share....

Someone put some time and effort into that site, I think it's awesome. I just ordered my very own flux capacitor...I'm going to travel to 2055, pickup the sports almanac, and hit 1955 for some primo gambling... Who's with me??? :yelrotflmao: :yelrotflmao:

I don't think there is any reason to apologize, just your willingness to help and make it right is enough... I've been dealt bad parts before, never actually used them...and made things right with who I sold them to. As with any bike/build, 530 just has to do a little measuring and research...and he'll be fine I'm sure...

Got it... Do yourself a favor, take the bowls off and look at the needle/seat, see if you can see a number, You can run a pump on a non-pumper set of needle and seat, but you have to adjust the floats different and they are VERY finicky....
-
Simple, put a 20 shot on and let Dan Jockey.....LOL... My goal is 3.99999 too as well Roger...gonna be tough for old fatty, but I think it can be done.
-
Snomo quad and mini twister? Send some of that money my way Daddy Warbucks.... I'll be looking forward to this season big time, Roger...can't wait. I think with everyone's help, including yours, my first season on alky was a pretty good one... Sorry to get off topic Bada...

At theshee's elevation, unless he was making a mile blasts, I don't think he needed a fuel pump and billet bowls... See what jetting he set them up for, however...I can assure you it's leaner than what you need at sea level, I know he rides at 7500 ft and up, BIG difference....
-
I just read your sig... 8 paddle haulers on a 4 mil cub on alky??? You might as well put turf tamers on it for sand... If you have a fuel pump, are these carbs setup for a fuel pump??? I didn't know they made 38PWKs as pumper carbs....
-
Snomo pumper carbs have the seat pressed in...so I don't know if you can remove them on a gravity fed carb. .122 dumps, .120 mains, powerjets wide open, 55 pilots. red learned the hard way not to go bigger on your dumps than .125... You don't read alky plugs like gas, you read them by heat. There are two AWESOME Threads on Planet Sand with pictures on how to read, etc. I can tell you overall Cubs like to be flooded with alky to make good power. You can lean it out a little to get a bit more power, but....I'd call that the ragged edge...which I like to be on the safe side of. Here's the Plug heat reading threads, read away.... http://www.planetsand.com/forums/ubbthread.../784059/fpart/1 http://www.planetsand.com/forums/ubbthread.../757511/fpart/1

Bottom and mid..a tad top. Once you start getting into BIG strokers, it will effect the top end less, but give you a more linear power curve and more torque/bottom end!!!

I've wanted to build a twister motor for some time, I think I'm gonna build a 10 mil DM next, however.... for the price, I don't think you could go wrong on those... Don't worry about the two ass clowns at the bottom of the post, I already PM'd the seller about them. They're from the middle east and they're scammers... I went round and round with banshee505 about my carbs a while back, saved my PMs on PS.... I'd pick that setup up...especially to save 2Gs. What kind of build did you have before? I'm sure Lyn @ LC will appreciate you getting the best bang for your buck....and maybe once Louie resleeves them...Lyn could port on 'em for you!!
-
Yeah, I normally just pull the bottom hose and blow air through the system...... There simply is no easy way to drain the coolant without making a mess... On stock cylinders, there's the 10mm bolt as said, and a copper sealing washer under it. Make sure it's in A OK shape!!

Thanks as always Jeff... I was half out of it when he called back the second time... I was like...yeah, my fibers are between 160 and 170.... I mean .116 and .117... He was like "huh".... Honestly guys....after three years, stock motor, 4 mil and 10 mil cub, this clutch still looks good. Easily 500 to 700 passes at the strip and dunes. Steels aren't even blued, etc... Thanks again for the call homie, send more FBT!!!!

If you have the money, get a complete craftsman tester gauge... Warm the bike up, then check.. Remove both spark plugs, test one cylinder at a time, and KEEP KICKING until the gauge no longer rises. It can often take 20 to 30 kicks...some people stop after 10 kicks....and get an inaccurate reading.
-
Generally...when the compression is that low, it doesn't start first kick... Mine took a few when it was at 110 or 105... Do yourself a favor, try another compression gauge, just so you don't waste your time tearing it down... Cheapo tester gauges can be WAY off...I've seen as far as 10 to 35 PSI off... If it's a quality gauge, then it's time to freshen up.

Hey guys, anyone have a FAST clutch fiber laying around they can mic for me? I put my new slingshot lockup on, and measured my clutch... My clutch is three years old, the fibers are .165 to .170...steels are .045. Wanting to know how worn they are compared to new.... Thanks...

392 Cub Building Experience thus far
dajogejr replied to forumsearcher's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yeah...that doesn't even look right... I have my clutch cover off to put a new lockup on, or I'd kick mine over to show you what mine looks like... Do yourself a favor, hit Harbor Freight and get a digital caliper if you don't have one already...you don't need a professional machinist quality Mic, you don't need .0000001 accuracy... I think you found the problem...work through Andy to get the right domes! Or you can call Dave Noss direct, I'm sure he'd more than steer you right. -
Bansheeeats$$ selling his shee
dajogejr replied to Handyman's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Yep...shitty in a lot of places for a lot of people...for sure. Kai is a good guy, I think he has two bikes, hopefully he stays in the sport. -
Sorry...but that amsoil is garbage.... My opinion based on motors I've seen run it...as well as taking apart transmissions with their 2 cycle tranny oil.... Junk...
-
I agree 100%... They are many top DRAG race guys that use stock modified cages with epoxy or resin style reeds... They are nice reeds...but 240 is too much to pay for them... There's a dealer that sells 'em for 189.00 plus shipping, I'm sure someone knows who they are. Find a used set for 1/2 to 2/3 the price.

421 4mil Cub Banshee for sale in Tennessee
dajogejr replied to knoxvillebanshee's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
Hey guys... Motorcycleshippers.com will do that. Pick it up and drop it off wherever it has to be.... bada is a good guy, I will vouch for him.... -
For the all around riding you will do, they will be just fine. If you're gonna dune/race more than trail, get a dunable override. if you're going to trail ride more...keep the tranny stock....
