  1. I would agree to a point...torque plays a big factor, if not bigger factor. The smaller motors hold their own in the short races, but once you start going past 300 feet, the bigger motors that can pull more gearing really start to shine...no dyno will show you that. I agree with you, dyno is a great tuning tool if you can't get to the track, or are trying new things. I'd rather make 3 passes at the track rather than 10 on a dyno any day of the week....
  2. They brought up dyno numbers...lowrider...I was just giving examples on why you shouldn't go strictly by them. And 4-10 mil vs a triple is not even close to apples and oranges...LOL...
  3. About time... One long sentence three paragraphs long with no punctuation or sentence breaks makes reading and helping 10X more difficult. Easy to miss details that are pertinent..
  4. Our buddy Brady080 has a 115 or 118 HP stock stroke 68 bore cub, was (is) the owner of a dyno's personal cylinders.... Bigger isn't always better...
  5. It's ported...and I'm very anxious to see as well...but I'm busting out with a new frame as well... 4, 7 and 10 mil cubs are very solid runners.
  6. What length? Gun drilled?
  7. Most common oils for use with Methanol are Klotz Benoil and Supertechniplate, and Maxima 927...they are castor based. I've always heard Redline makes a very good methanol premix, but...hard to find and expensive....
  8. Awesome....but that Kevin and Tim are some scary lookin dudes.... HJR didn't try try to lure you into the Winnebego with some Candy did he? Congrats Rubberneck, one helluva project Lowbuck and everyone else took on...very nice work all...
  9. apples and oranges...and 1990's to 2009.
  10. If it was a BOSS intake, it was an OLD design. For the past few years their intakes are built in crossover billet types, except the largest intakes which are separate with NO crossover or boost bottle ports.
  11. I think you guys both smoke pole. LOL. Damn I'm funny...
  12. IF it sounds kind of high, price it out elsewhere. They have you by the nads on the pistons and possibly the Orings...the rest you can get ANYWHERE. You can get nuts for the head and cylinder at a hardware store, you'll take a box end 13mm wrench and grind it down to fit...like the rest of us do.
  13. Yep, along with a TON of other "donated" parts...beggars can't be choosers...LOL.
  14. You're gonna find out this is one of those items that had great thought and theory behind it, it just doesn't pan out in reality. But...with the name "boost" in it...they still sell a TON based on that marketing alone.
  15. I'm on the 4th season of abuse on mine, one year on a 4 mil cub on gas, the last two seasons on my 10 mil alky bike. It's been beaten to death and still looks great.
  16. Please list all the "good" you've heard about them from reputable sites, builders, etc.
  17. Jer... You might want to include an angle shot of that support area. From a top view, with all that cut out...one might think it's not very much support until they see how thick that plate actually is!
  18. Sorry...I know this is an old thread, but oil type shouldn't matter when it comes to fouling plugs. Too much fuel/air does....
  19. Actually...in this case, it' be more like having a CR 125 against a bunch of Vespas...but who's counting....
  20. Just plug them with bolts and use a hose clamp to tighten/seal them. Make sure the bolt doesn't protrude into the intake area.
  21. I torque mine 3 times. I go in pattern from the stock head, go 15, 20 then 22 ft. lbs. I'm probably being over careful...but for the extra 3 minutes it takes, why not.
  22. It will be harder to pull for a brief second or two until the RPMs die down a little... At the end of a full on pass mine takes just a little more effort to pull, but like I said, nothing unbearable at all...
  23. Our buddy brady080 has a stock stroke, 68mm cub do 116 or 118 on a dyno. It was the guy who owned the dyno's personal motor....and he hasn't been able to duplicate that motor yet. As said...every motor and builder is different, run what they say. Matt Shearer himself told me unless I was hillshooting, I should have SB on my 10 mil, but my BB work just fine. My builder also said SB.... I'm gonna try and pick up some Shearer SB this year and test the two out back to back...just to see.
  24. We're all pretty much saying the same thing... Is it rideable? Sure... Can you use some/most of the power effectively? Questionable. Can you flat out pin it and hope to not see your feet above your head? Doubt it....LOL.
  25. Yep...like we both said, pavement vs. sand thing. Hundreds and HUNDREDS of passes on my stock tranny, stock crank/basket gears, zero issues. Right now is the first time I've had my bottom end apart since Early 2007...and only because I sent out the cases to get match ported and my cub degreed in and ported. Tranny, crank, etc., in side all still look perfect!!!
