  1. To answer your question about the chain, if you are steping up from stock 14 tooth to a 15 tooth front you should only have to loosen your chain from the back of the carrier. The gear is slightly larger so you should be able to use the same length chain. But put the gear on and loosen the carrier and see how much play is in it (with your weight on the bike - to compress suspension)
  2. I wanted to go, but still don't have my motor back yet. Maybe next time....................
  3. Ya, you always need to look at the positive side of things...................
  4. The suspension is an excellent mod, but it sounds like you want to go a little faster now, and dajogejr is right, shave the wheel, get pipes, a NOSS head w/ 20cc domes, timing plate, get rid of the air box and get pods............... But thats a start and will give a good seat of the pants difference.................
  5. You need to put it in the hose pre radiator, coming from the motor, because that gives you a more accurate temp of the motor before the water has a chance to cool down in the radiator. Post radiator may be 20-30 degrees cooler but your motor may have been damaged 15 degrees ago. The hose connected to the water pump is the hose you put the temp guage in. Because the cooled water is returned to the head first after the radiator. How much did you pay for the kit..............?
  6. A friend of mine got pulled over a while back and he asked why he was pulled over and the cop said with the dealer plates on the car I thought you were my ex-wife and her new car paid for with my money. I would have came up with a reason............. DAMN, now thats a grudge. :yelrotflmao:
  7. Thats pretty $hitty, but they are hoping that some shmoe walks in off the streat and doesn't know anything about it and goes,"well i heard it was expensive, but damn". THen asks if they take cash or plastic.................. That right there is why I don't trust any type of dealer or should I say Stealer.............. ::
  8. The plate can be purchased from Ricky Stator directly for $35.00. So at least you paid what the manufacturer charges for them. And yes you need a flywheel puller, not a jaw type puller or you can damage your flywheel. It will cost a hell of a lot more to replace the bent flywheel than the $10.00 puller to do it right.
  9. :yelrotflmao: Thats Fu@!ed up.................
  10. Damn that sucks............... $9.00 a gallon and an hour trip :baseball_bat:
  11. I heard of a guy sprayin' PAM on the bare metal parts and keepin' the rust off, but if thats not an option spray off the shee with fresh water after ridin' and then tarp it at night...........
  12. I thought stock dome size was about 23.5-24cc's. It also depends on your elevation as to which size domes you can run on 93. Average dome size for pump gas limitations is about 20cc, but you really need to check your compression. 160 PSI and above you need to run higher octane fuel...........
  13. First off welcome the HQ. When you say filter assembly, are you referring to pods or a stock airbox? The pods are going to suck in water, which is why you don't run puddles, creeks, or in the rain without stock airbox. You may look at the crossover tube between the carbs and if it is leaking, water will get sucked in. An easy way to tell where there is an air leak is to get starting fluid and spray it around the intake boots, carb caps, crossover and if there is a leak the RPM's of the motor will raise, and "VOILA", you found the air leak...............
  14. VF-3's all the way..........
  15. If you did mount a battery on your shee, you would need to run a higher output stator (ie 200-250 watts) plus install a regulator/rectifier to not overcharge the battery and keep it charged up. without those things the battery wouldn't charge very well with a lower wattage stator and overcharging it would destroy a perfectly good battery. Just my .02, but if anyone else has better info.....................
  16. First things first, you need to fix the shut off valve then fix the float problem. If teh valve is off and the bowl is full (or you take the bottom off and push the float up and fuel still leaks out) you have problems with both valve and carbs..........
  17. You need to get a hold of your local speed shop. I run AV100LL in mine and it runs great, and you can get it at a local airport. I've been runnin it for years and never had any problems, so if you can't find a local supplier for race fuel, you may try that.............. I'ts only 100 octane versus 110 or 112, but if your compression isn't high enough to justify it then you may give it a try................
  18. I like Rocky Mountain and I have also had pretty good experiences with Motosport wherehouse too........
  19. The higher the octane the cooler it burns. 02sandshee where the hell are you gettin' 111 octane for $3.60 a gallon, $hit I pay $3.25 for deisel............. ::
  20. A lot of detail and patience went into that................
  21. Who makes a foam pod style filter that you can put on there with outerwares? I mean without the airbox of course. I want to attach them directly to carbs like the pods............
  22. Make that symbol out of something and bring your boss out to see the new bikes and tell him you think they may have a disgruntled employee in the assembly line somewhere. :yelrotflmao: Only if he has a sense of humor...............
  23. She told me we couldn't afford beer anymore and I'd have to quit. Then I caught her spending: $65.00 on make-up, $150 for a cut & color, $30 for a manicure, $40 for a pedicure, $50 on vitamins, $300 on clothes and $600 for a gym membership. I asked how come I had to give up stuff and not her. She said she needed it to look pretty for me. I told her that was what the beer was for. I don't think she's coming back.
  24. I haven't heard of that many people gettin' Rockets, but I hear a lot of them gettin' Shearers, or CPI's. Hey Rocketman, why'd you quit makin' them..............
  25. Well then your excuse would sound like, well your honor I'm really sorry but I don't have a speedometer and since the officer didn't show me the radar unit with my speed still locked in, I really don't know how fast I was going. :yelrotflmao: He caught me so I couldn't be going that fast, or then ask them when the road was last surveyed. I've seen a lot of tickets out here in Cali get thrown out because by law there has to be a survey (the little rubber hoses that cross the road for a week) done at least once a year to verify traffic speed on a particular road. That makes sure that the flow of traffic is accurate with the posted speed limit, and vice versa. Might check it out, it may work for you...............
