  1. jim is a great guy to work with and the 12 port is the way to go on stock cylinders. i am having a motor done by him now, and plan on doin 2 set of banshee cylinders too
  2. i grew up on dirtbikes got my 1st one when i was 5, and i'm 41 now. i bought a brand new DVX400 and put a twist on it, it was great. i got my shee and hadda put one on it too, NOPE off it came. the nature of a banshee is the fantastic hit and the twist sux less ur draggin. but landin off a jump in 5th gear and the throttle moves open a bit and ur on ur ass cause ur in the pipes. i feel the thumb throttle is easier to control
  3. ya can just totally unplug all the tors connections and it will be disabled. the tors kit make for a nice easy throttle pull tho.
  4. the dmc set up has the 2n1 part in the silencer/stinger portion of the pipes .... a buddy had a shee with the 2n1 intake , dynoport 2n1 pipe and gorr woods/mx port and on the mx and trails that thing fuggin rulz
  5. try some 30 pilot jets and the 4th clip on the needle
  6. i really wouldnt think the HP2 caused the gunk, i've ran it in my cr250 for a couple years and its fine ... sounds like it is prolly jetting or mebe a filthy airfilter ...... just my .02 in my banshee's i run klotz techniplate @ 40:1, i have never fouled a plug yet and it exellent wear characteristics
  7. shearer inframes are gonna require some shimming and pod filters unless ya wanna cut ur airbox to hell .... im runnin the vito's fat bastard's they're supossed to be made by shearer. they will fit up with the airbox inplace without cutting it up, but be ready to shim the shit outta them. they seem to have all the bottom end my fatty's had but thats with the porting i've had done to it, and when they hit they're just plain out fuckin' violent!
  8. aintisieze is the key to gettin parts apart that tend to get stuck .... i use it on dam near everything, pivot bolts, cylinder and head nuts too ....................... makes for more even torque!!
  9. check ur slides and make sure they're closing all the way. just my .02
  10. WORD thats what i was thikin too
  11. my 03 has had a knocking noise in the lower end since the day it came home. my 98 aint gotta noise nowhere lol ... i think its the nature of the beast. the rz350's were said to be so noisy that they were obsene.
  12. definately time for some port work. ya can always add carb's another time for a lil more power.
  13. OOooo so u are runnin outta threads on the axle? i thought ya meant just gettting it tight enough lol my bad
  14. no ur rear hubs should be tight, ya may need to use a 3/4 drive breaker bar to get that next slot in the castle nut. if i remember right the torque for it is like 70 or 80 ft pounds.
  15. heyya Twin im not bashin' ya, im tryin' to let ya in on a lil thing that you better open up to. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER .... stay in school man. i gotta 18yr old that thought he was gonna go do it with out education. now hes pretty well fucked, unlless he goes back to school ...... the more education ya get the better off you will be later in life.... i'll help ya out with question's that i can, but i did find the hooked on fonix a bit funny tho lol.
  16. those krouse chains are some tough mofo's. are ya sure ur not gettin the chain to tight and causing it to stretch from that??? just a thought, we put a sidewinder setup on a poked and stroked rapturd 2 years ago and its still good to go ... we only had adjust it twice so far
  17. higher octane fuel will burn cleaner and cooler ... i run turbo blue mixed with klotz techniplate @ 40:1 in the wifes 98 and ya can feel a difference in throttle response and power
  18. if ur runnin the lid and no snorkel 280 should be real close depending on ur altitude. im at 850ft and for 70deg. my 98 has, fatty's, k&n w/ proflow and no lid, vf3's and it jet's out at 280 main, stock pilot,1 turn on air screw.
  19. should just get a bunch of jets and install the stuff ur self.. ive never had pt mids but id think ya should start around a 290 and do a plug chop and go from there. usually a service team installs recomended jetting and sends ya on ir merry lil way. if ya do it ur self then ya can be sure its right!
  20. we got lucky it all went around us .. but man it really nailed springfield tho.
  21. LOL n private land " owned by my boss" he came back there and hassled up .. i've been ridin' there for better than 4 yrs with written permission
