  4. you could run more batterys, i used to run a 7 cell, is your servos runn off the battery, you could run a different battery pack for your elctronics and one for the motor.

  6. we are with in a few 100 feet of each other in elevation, and we have simalar mods.. i might have my clip too high, like i said, at the dunes it ripped it up but after trial riding in first and second at slow speed "not hitting the power band" i started to foul my plugs, hit the band for a sec and cleaned them up, but by the end of the day they were done... haven't pull the carb off yet, been fixing my yfz450.... i bought a new bike so i wouldn't have to work on it so much, come to find out it is the rider that keeps breaking the bike....
  7. i use grip glue, i just make sure the grip and the bar are clean and not dusty,,, i usually take some sand paper to the bar and ruff it up a little. seem to be working fine..... i like the paint idea.... the wire, not so much.... but if it works then it works...
  8. i live in k.c. and when i had the stock carbs on, i ran 320 mains and 35 pilots with toomies and no air box.... 280 or 290 sounds about right for the box on.. good luck
  9. and it shifts in to nuetral? and will roll? but not in gear even with the clutch taken out? must have something in your case.. let us know what you find.
  10. i have heard bad things about cosmetic gaskets. i know i did not like the ones that came with my warrior piston, get an aftermarket head, then some o-rings..
  11. i took them out of my warrior and my banshee. been working for this long
  12. you could have your flywheel lightened, it will help you rev out faster
  13. i use them to allow my rad valves to fit with my 2into1 intake
  14. what mods do you have? i know 2 of my friends melted pistons, acted like what you said till finaly took the head off and piton was done for... i happened to me too only my piston broke apart at the skirt and hung up on one of the ports in the cylinder, locked it up,, i finally got it pull started and broke free ran great till it died and did not want to start again, check your pistons, this happened to us 3, who ride dunes together cause of pump gas in high compression application,,, 2 of us had 18cc domes and i had 17cc domes. now the 110octain is in them

  16. and since you don't have bucks for pistons, you could buy a degree key from vito's for like 5 bucks to advance your timeing,,,, same deal different price..
  17. well, since you don't have the bucks, i know i just rebuilt mine and the kit was like 150 - 200. but if your pistons look good and there are no deep scratches, you could hone the cylinder and install new rings that should give you some extra life out of your engine..... let me know. i might have a hone you can use. where you at?
  18. good call on the twist tie wire dlnoss, sounds like it is just dirty,,, i always like to take my carbs apart in the spring, just to make sure. i get board good luck, sounds like your close....
  19. i would go to like a 42 pilot, that is what i have in mine and i still don't have to choke it.... and as for main i think i have a 180 in mine and i fould my plugs last time i was trail riding,,,,, at the dunes it did good, needed to get it hot. i think i will be dropping a clip position and another size or 2 on the main, like a 175 or 170... good luck and if you get it perfect before i do,,,, hook a brother up
  20. compression is the amount of force compressing the fuel air mixture at the top of the stroke, by compressing it, it becomes a controled bomb. the spark hits whenn the mix is compressed and that is how your motor works,,, to little and poor perfomance, too much and you will blow it up...... more compression more power...... less compression,,,, like said above. rebuild

    yfz 450

    i bought trinity when i go my yfz, sounds good, looks good, and perfomes well, i just picked up a pulse charger and i think i will keep it on there for a while. noticed more bottom end and have not noticed any loss up top, but i will not know for sure till after i get it out on the dunes for a real test....

    i have had them on all my bikes, warrior, banshee and my new yfz450, the one on my yfz went out, i sent it in and they replaced it with no hassle. great company, i will keep on buying them
  23. i run one, and so does BBIII, never really gets hot, even in the trails. you could try that engine ice too. but it is way expencive
  24. is it like the dial a jet? i would like to rejet with out pulling the carbs
