  3. i got both - yfz450 and banshee., i think my yfz would take the shee, especaily when i put my 460 kit and 44 lectron on it. but the banshee is fast.... i just ordered some new tires for the yfz, we will see how they compair with equal traction..
  4. K.C. 21cc... had 17cc, hate race fuel so i changed it up.
  5. i had tr-6's on my banshee, when i bought it, it had t-5's i switched to the t-6's and am now back to the t-5's. they pull harder on the bottom for me, plus i went to a single 35mm and the damn thing lugs all day long now, almost will idle up a hill.. if you drop a tooth you will feel it, but you will have to shift more.. hope that helps
  6. 2001 banshee, blue in color, all stock except exhaust "toomey t-5" very clean and barrley ridden... first 3 grand takes it. located in kansas city kansas
  7. i never tried a 6th gear wheelie. although the thought of it makes me want to cry, i pulled a 5th gear wheelie on my yfz450, and i cried, but then again,i have gone through 3 grab bars on my banshee, 4 on the yfz450 oh and a sub frame, that was not cheap.
  8. are you getting power from the rectifier? sounds like there must be a wire out some where in the line
  9. i hear dyna's are the best,, that is a steal
  10. how are you checking for spark, the coil could be bad, i know an indutive timeing light will help figure that out, boot could be bad.
  11. it might have been bubbled up from it sloshing and circulating, i know my yfz started acting stupid on me, so i pulled the stick and the oil tank was damn near full and all bubbly, so i put it up and rode the shee the rest of the weekend. checked it the next day and it was fine, got home drained it, saw nothing, never had another problem... just my .02
  12. i love my coolent bottle, we sit out on the dunes at night drinking and sharing old storys..... i could never part with it,,, too many good times together..
  13. before you bore, is the cylinder wall trashed? if not, check the tolerences, you may not need to bore. as for hone, get you a diamond ball hone from either a store or mcmaster carr on line,,, maybe 50 bucks, but last forever.... then buy your new pistons,,,, i don't know how hard you run your machine or what all you have done to it. but if it is not too far off stock, i would not even worry about new pistons, just like you said new rings and clips and such... http://www.mcmaster.com/ page 2499... Flex-Hone Cylinder Hones .. just pick your size
  14. if the head was shaved, it needed race fuel... my whole crew has melted pistons,,, if you put it back to stock compression you should be fine....
  15. or do a compression check....
  16. well,,,, i have some rock solid advice for you... t-5's, air filter.... my friend has an 02, just pipes and it ripps... my friends girl just dynoed hers,,, last weekend,,, it is an 87. 60 over... all else stock,,,, t-5's.. 52hp...27lbs torque mine with 2into1 with 35mm carb, t-5's coolhead with 21cc domes.... 48hp.. 35 lbs torque.. for reliability and speed, t-5's and a filter, be done with it untill you are ready to work on it a lot...
  17. i think rocky mountain sells them,,,, i am pretty sure vitos does too....
  18. don't know why they are totaly different, 2 - 4 stroke???? but i do know that the raptor has duel carbs that are bolted together,, which would be a problem..
  19. are they duel or triple rate,,, i think the spring swap will help that out, but it might make your trail riding a little stiff...
  20. put in a toggle switch for the igniton ...
  21. i believe the coils are the same for all years,,,,, might look a little different but i don't know for sure, but i am pretty sure that all coils work the same....
  22. what size domes you run in the head? if they are below 20cc, you need to run race fuel, me and two of my buddys found out the hard way, piston looked just like yours, i now have 21cc domes just so i can run pump gas and not worry about melt down
  23. get it loose, i use a ratchet strap and compress the suspension, tighten each side litle by little till you have about an inch of free play.....
  24. i run t5's, with no air box, 320 - 340,,, my buddy runs air box no lid and he had to go back to 280's cause he kept fouling plugs
  25. when i shot a piston i just rebuilt it, drained my oil a few times, the crank is sealed and the piston crap shoots out on top of the piston, f's up the piston and head then goes out the exhaust port... i know may people who have done it this way
