  2. there are lots of places to go riding, you could go to school creek which is south of Manhattan ks. and tuttle creek is north of there. you can go to chadwhick in mark twain national forest and deep water is down in souther mo. also. if you what to go a little north in mo yuou could go to finger lakes north of columbia mo. they have a nice track there also. but you got a good thing down there with the dunes.
  3. thanks you for the input, it sounds like you can get alot out of the dyna if you can work the sofware. i will have to try and figure it out. all my buddys have dynas, i got one on each of my bikes. you make it sound so sweet. thanks again. although i don't know if i should tell my buddys when i figure it out. they may want to use it against me. lol
  4. here is the carb. adapter i was talking about. i never loose my filter. but alot of my friends with the direct mount k&n filters have had trouble with them coming off. even though that is one thig we check on and tighten ofter.
  5. are you sure, i thought it feel around the 22nd last year
  6. okay, so no one has ever had an air filter fall off while riding, i guess you all have the air box on. i guess that is fine if you don't need the 02. just thought there might be some thing outhere the could help those inserch of power with out the short cominges. but i guess the air box is cool for some.
  7. any time i change my brakes, i just remove the calliper with the pads in it and us a screw driver to seperate them as much as possible. then i put the new pads on, and most of the time they wont go on so i give a little more love with the screw driver thill they slip over the rotor. never had any problems and never have to bleed brakes
  8. oh, so sorry to bring the bad news. just kiding, it sounds alot worse than it is. you will have to pull the clutch cover though, on the side of the brake pedle. you can drain the case or turn it up on its side, which is what i do. get to the clutch, turn your handle bar adjust all the way in. break loose the lock nut in the midle of the clutch, i think it is 10 or 12 mm turn the phillips screw in till your clutch lever which is in your case, the other end or the cable from the handle bars has lined up with the case mark, there is a arrow on the lever and on the case, your clutch should start to dissengage at that mare and the spring on the lever should return the lever"in the case" about 1/8 inch behind the mark. if that don't work take it apart and inspect all componints. make sure you check it before putting it back together
  9. i know that every one i know who has a banshee, and most of us only ride them at the dunes or when conditions are perfect on some trails or tracks. we all have no air box and outerwear. if you plan on sinking your bike in a pond or in some soupy mud, keep the air box or buy a cheapspair bike like most of us have for tearing up the shitty terrain.
  10. i have a dyna fs, i bought the program and there is some jave error. what can i do to get it to work. and if and when i do what if any words of wisdom do you have. i would like to know if there are any really sweet cures exctera
  11. had same problem, ball welded to screw, push rod wont come out, you could split the case. easyest if you want to go through that much work. i pulled the lever from the case, used a diamond file and about 5 hours of fileing to get ride of the burr till the shaft moved freely again. i also have a back up for that i keep in my tool box on long trips. it is a few drill bits, bigger by some in sequence till you get to a big ass drill bit which will allow you to punch the rod out the stator side, then i have a pipe tap, and a plug to fill the hole. don't think i would have any adverse affects from this mod, but i am waiting till i need it to find out. i also check and or change the ball every time i am in the engine over there. i keep one of each of those parts in my box, it is only like 50 bucks worth and it is way better than sitting at camp while otheres ride. oh, and the ball from yamaha is $0.89 pluss shipping, but if you or some one you know has the ability to order stuff from work like me, the ball is .467, and i think the best you can get is .464. hope tyhis helps. later
  12. if you have the gas off, then your problem is there. at least if you have had it off for long enough. i know i have a float prob on mine, if i shut off the gas and trailer it for a few hundred miles, when i turn the gas on it just starts flowin out the over flow, then i kick it a few times and it stops. got a few mods i am waiting to install so i havent taken the carbs apart and cleaned them yet, but only cause i know i have the prob and what to do wand when it will happen. try and tap lightly on the carbs and see if it stops pouring. if it does not. then you need to take them apart and clean and reset them . and as for the petcock, put the tube coming right out of it in a can and see if it is working. if not try and fix it or buy a new one. let me know if you have any more info for the prob

    pistons?

what???? no one out there has any input on pistons. what no one who visits this site has ever modified there engin. never had to rebuild the top end. i am shocked that with the weath of knowlage running through this web sight, bbIII can get no answers. i was also hoping to hear some thing for when the time comes for my next rebuild. i know i always try and share, so could you all take the time and give a little input here. i know it will be appreciated by all who read it. thank you in advance.
  14. if it is falling on it's face when it gets hot, there can only be a few things wrong with it. make sure your fuel lines are not up on any thing to create vapor lock, go and buy a new spark plug boot and switch it out between the two, or if your rich buy two and change them both, about 3 bucks each, lol. as it heats up things expand so check your head torqe and also your carb mounting. make sure every thing is tight. and when you say hot i assume you mean after it is warmed up i start thrashing on it, which means check your reeds, your air filter and your floats/fuel lines. if you can give a description as to, i changed this and i got this problem or it ran fine and out of no where it started fu@king up, that would help figure out the prob. the 2 stroke is the most basic of engines and if the prob came out of no where or it came up after changing some thing is a really big difference. hope to hear from you.
  15. so, is there any one out there who has used the software to creat timing curves, and if so how were the results
  16. i have been doing a checking on this cool head.come to find out, it is really a sneeky pete nitros system. it will give you up to 75hp boost. but watch out, wouldn't want to pop those pistons.
  17. just wondering when deamon dash is this year. i was wanting to go this year but havent found when it is. and is any one else planning on going to oklahoma that weekend. i would like to be able to meet some of the people who i may be intrusting the health of my baby.
  18. i know that 1 on the dyna, is the torque curve, it jumps up fast and plains out for a longer time and 3 is hp, i keeps climbing and climbing. i use 1 for dragging and 3 for running around the dunes and jumpin. still would like to know what is goin on inside there. i got the software but have not been able to get it to run yet. i only tried on my work laptop, which is bad ass with the xp and all that but the dynatek software wont run on it. i am going to try it out at home. just havent yet. maybe there is more info in there, i'll let you know if i can ever figure it out
  19. you could have some kind of bind in one of the connecting parts, or if it was routed wrong, it could have been smashed not allowing is to move inside the casing. or if you had frayed wires on one of the ends some where that would do it too. it sounds to me like you just need a new cable. watch the routing though
  20. i have switch them around out at the dunes, i like the #1 setting the best and #3 is good also, is there any way to know what the timing is advanced to when each of the factory settings are selected.
  21. i have posted a question in the repair and mod section which i could really use some insight into. please help, thank you to all who take the time. it has the same topic and description. thanks again

    pistons?

you are correct, loco. vito's are made by weisco with vito's specs. but would the performance changes in the vito's work with ported engines, this site said the super stokes are great if you don't want to port and polish. http://www.atvsource.com/articles/product_...ock_pistons.htm just wondering if you should use different pistons when you start doing the hard core machining and mods
  23. i never thought i would see greed carried to this level. i know lots of people gouge on prices, but that is a little much.
  24. okay, i have a dyna fs on my bike. i hear all you guys talking about changing the timing with a deg. key or a timing plate. my question is, can you run them together or is it worth it. i thought the dyna was able to change the timing with the switches and the software. i like the idea of the timing plate and key and would like to install one or the other, but i am affraid of how it will work with the dyna curves. any help greatly appreciated. oh, and of the three which does every one think is the best, key, plate or dyna.
  25. anyone else have a problem with there air filter falling off, i know my group has had it's share. i have addapters which fit over my carb intake which are held in place with set scews, and they have a flare at the end which holds the filter on like the nubs on the end of the water fittings. after our last trip to the dunes my buddys are online with this and one of them already has made and installed a set. if there are any other things out there i would like to hear about them.
