    pistons?

pistons are over rated, just find you a few sand bunnys to push you around. i have had mixed reviews, the wiescos seem to be long lasting, and the vito's seem like a more perfomance piston. i don't know if your porting would matter which piston to buy.
  2. all this is good info. i too have mine blocked off, but keep the oem shit for the future, i bought a dyna fs ignition and you can use the parking brake set up to use as a hole shot rev limiter, which is programable with the software. cool stuff this technology is. have not used mine cause i threw out the stoke crap. just a little insight
  3. if the problem is with one cylender, i agree, check the reeds, if they are good, check the leads to the plug. and if that don't get it fixed, then you may try and borrow some one's cdi. it could be some thing minor that is being over looked, keep us posted to your progress and what your thoughts are. with this wealth of knowlage i am sure you will figure it out.
  4. i know i say this alot, check the resistance of your spark plug boots, if they are the same you should be fine, i don't want to look up the specs, i had that problem on my warrior, and at high revevs it would fall on its face, also the parking brake gave me problems like that. you live and you learn, and alot of time on an easy fix sucks. so check those two things, and maybe the tors. i don't know about that much cause i took mine off first thing. if that don't work break out the tools and start ripping it apart, you will find something
  5. i have had two of my friends burn up pistons out at the dunes, one had a 280 jet and the other a 300, both had t-6 pipes, one had v force and one stock cages, both had dyna ignitions. the only thing they truly had in comon was the 18 cc domes and pump gas. we never thought nothing about it till the second bike had a problem, i have t-6 rad valves and a dyna, i have 17 cc domes. now that 2 bikes have melted pistons we have been thinking about it and they recomend race fuel for any thing under 20 cc. that is the only real link we have found to melting pitons. too much heat with the pump gas, although i have not melted yet i am going to switch domes for pump gas. it could be some thing else which caused a lean condition but till i am able to buy the add ons i will switch domes.
  6. did you check the ball bearing inside, are you sure your adustment screw lock nut is tight. other than that, depending on your mods you might have to go with a heavy spring, i got lots of mods and threw an old set of clutch plates, which are fiber from a clutch i bought on ebay for my warrior and they hookup fine, i do have heavy springs though, you could pull the lever out of the case and make sure there is no burrs on the pin which comes in contact with the lever. hope this helps, if now write back with more info and i will be able to give you a better answer
  7. if your bore gets above 65 you should look at getting big bore domes, and if you have a stock head, you will have to have it machined. an after market head is the way to go, keep an eye on ebay, i see them going for around 150 all the time. and the domes are around 60bucks. all my friends have after market heads. i think the noss for the money is the best. i have a cool head and the water chamber on the noss looks like it has a lot more flow. and the domes are all interchangable.
  8. i have always used duralube, they make good products and i havent ever had a problem, but as suggested above, it may be the schedule at which you greese which makes the difference
  9. my buddy changed his out in like 15 min. at the dunes. he bought it because at the dunes you are always full on, and the thumb gets a little tired. the only thing that you are realy modifying is the cable and it should come with that. so it would be the same as a thumb throtle
  10. i have my mixture screws out 2+1/4 turns out, i have t-6 pipes with no air box, and i have 300 jets with center clip position
  11. first, is this your first banshee? second, a shaved head should not make a clicking sound. i have noticed my bike does make a noticeable sound when at idle, but it has always.
  12. i bought some, but it did'nt help me hook up in the sand, although i did put some in my buddy's tank and by the end of the weekend i was whipin his ass all over the dunes
  13. premium pump gas should be fine with those domes. the race fuel comes in when compression is such that it makes the motor run too hot. race fuel runs cooler. if it falling out at high revs, make sure you fuel and air supply are not cloggeed and also check and make sure one of your spark plug boots has not lost its connection. measure the resistance of them both and if they are the same you should be okay. you could also check your carb and reeds. if that don't do it, then you might need to check your jetting. but if this juat came out of no where then i don't see the jet being the problem.
  14. i have one friend who has a 03 z400, another who has the 05 trx450, and his dad has an 01 rapter. the z400 was handin out ass whippins at the dunes with a yosi, jet kit and k&n, the rapter had the same and the 450 was stock. after that weekend, the rapter got a 11.1 piston stage one cam's and a set of alba transmision gears, the 450 got k&n's, a jet kit and trinity stage four exaust. needless to say, the 450 took the prize, the raptor was second and the z was a close third. i am talkin about spliting hairs here. at any rate i still fly by them all and have a great time siting at camp, and hearing them bitch about all the sand they ate which was coming off my tires. i say keep the banshee!
  15. if you go to the noss machine web site they have a chart of what domes ie. 18cc or what ever and what altitude and what yur psi should be, it is how ever a reference. that should get you some where????
  16. never ordered any thing from magic, alba, ebay, and bto are about all i mess with. although i have had good luck with , dennis kirk, rocky mountain, and bike bandit. although you are still best off calling and asking the questions. if you just order it online you never know what they have in stock.
  17. You are worth exactly $2,388,510.00, i think i should be worth more. hell i got at least that much in replacement parts for my atv's. lol
  18. i had a buddy who bought a used banshee, and it smoked kind of like you are saying. come to find out the previous owner had to much oil in the mix and it collected in the canister/expansion chamber. try pulling one off and checking it, use the oven cleaner on them like posted in one of the other forums
  19. the one's listed are great. i use alba action, vito's, and ebay. if i feel like hagalin the price i call bto.
  20. i would check your air filter. if that isn't it measure the resitance in your spark plug caps, if they are the same you should be fine there" sorry don't feel like lookin the resistance up" make sure your fuel is flowing and your floats are set and working properly. other than that there isn't may things that would cause this.
