Thanks for the input, I will be rebuilding my quad with the intent of durability more than all out performance. I also intend to use pump gas (premium). Did I read correctly, I should be using head domes of 20cc or larger? What size are stock heads? I also have an adjustable stator plate, where should my timing be set? Any thoughts on which Pre-mix oil to use?

I live and ride in an area that is about 600 to 700 ft. above sea level. Most of my riding is wide open (fast) trails and accasionally dunes. I haven't started to rebuild yet, I'm waiting for funds to become available. When I do rebuild, my emphasis will be on reliability and durability rather than all out performance. Although a few extra ponies wounldn't be a bad thing. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated. Thanks all. ffemtmm

I happened on to a deal on a 03 Banshee with a few Mods on it. The quad is in good shape except for the fact it doesn't run. From what the previous owner tells me, and what I have seen in the little work I've done on it. I think he burned up a piston. I'm new to the 2-stroke game so I'm looking for some basic jetting and mixture settings so when I rebuild this thing it doesn't melt down again. Its an 03 Banshee with Toomey T-5s, K&N air filters (no airbox) adjustable stator plate, and a cool head, not sure what size domes in the head. Any suggestions on where to start with jetting, air/fuel mixture, fuel ratio and oil would be appreciated.
