we did a leak down test and it is fine, cleaned all fuel lines, slides and choke tube are correct, just replaced the tank (again) with ims 5.6 gal. tors was removed in 04 i did however just put a new stator in right before prez day. and that weekend it started acting a bit funny, got a bit slugish on the last day of a 4 day dune trip.. maybe i will pull the stator and but the stocker back in and try that and see if it runs normal again...i did notice at one point there was a major difference in exaust the right pipe was bearly putting out anything at the rear of the silencer and the left was normal???

ok so i had he carbs cleaned and got them back on the bike now the right side just isnt working right. i pulled them back off and everything is clean as can be everything is back in the carbs correctly floats are working great i cant find anything wrong. for some reason the right carb is acting like its not sending fuel through at a high enough rate to keep up with the left. the bike idles great and revs out 100% untill it goes into gear then it acts like a foul plug. i changed plugs 3 times and still doing the same thing. carbs are hooked up perfect all boots and seals are perfect no cracks or any air leaks. does anyone have any clue what the hell i might be overlooking? i have been over and over them and i cant find a damn thing wrong. but shee just wont run right. i had a buddy pace me this weekend on pavement and im only reaching 53mph on pavement. its like the right side is just not wanting to co-operate. compression is a bit low but not too bad its getting awesome spark reeds are onle a couple rides old. i cant figure this one out for anything... anyone have a clue what it might be?
-
yeah that is 100% true. but then again how sweet it would be to be out riding and be able to say " yeah its the 2008 banshee with bla bla bla done to it?"

the freedom for women to bounce their boobs are what makes this country so great. they show naked childrens asses on tv comercials for shit like baby shampoo and diapers so if some sick ass pedifile can make a comercial showing a naked 2 yr old why cant we see a nice set of jumblies that are covered by some sort of clothing??? and what the hell are you doing at school on this site anyway? the only people who should be on here at school should me attending motorcycle mechanic school and using BHQ at school to do reserch and trouble shooting an a banshee.. from what i read it sounded like the banshee is just not being produced here in the states but will continue on for years to come around the world? it may or may not be true but who knows, after all they are going to make a 500 4 stroke banshee right? i cant wait for the new 2010 to come out i hear its suposed to have an f16 jet engine in it and will be a 9 speed gear box.. but seriously does anyone know how to getthe banshee shipped from another country and registered here??? there has to be a way what if you just moved here from some 3rd world country and want to register it here? how does that work?
-
ok so it is true then??? so say i cross the border buy a new banshee and bring her home... how the hell do you register it?????

i read a report that wd40 is actually corrosive and in time will eat your chain away. i use a product called BREAK FREE. its was originaly designed for use on guns to displace dirt and grime in guns used in very poor enviroments where alot of dirt and debries can get into moving parts...my chain is actually the cleanest part of the bike after a desert race, the break free works awesome better than any of the chain wax or lubes sold at local shops..you can buy it at wal mart at the gun counter or at local gun stores

ok so i hear that we are the only country that the banshee is not being sold in for 08. i saw an article ( i forget where) that said the banshee in deed will be manufactured in 08 but not avaliable in the united states because of the emmisions and all that junk.. we all know the 08 4 croke is a load of crap, but is there any tuth to the fact that the banshee is still in production for other places and is just not available here in the states??? anyone from canada or any other place know anything aout this??? sorry im not trying to start another 2008 banshee topic im just trying to find out if the thing i read is true or not. it mentioned canada will still have the 2008 banshee as we all know and love the banshees of the past

wait i thought that comes off to put a case saver on??? i didnt think the case save will fit with it on... but either way case savers do work and are a good way to spend $20. my chain broke and if not for the case saver i would have been fu@@ed.. the case saver was trashed but my case is still in one piece

wait a minute you guys havnt heard the big give away promotion they are doing for the 08 shee? i just say an add that said if you bring your used banshee to any local dealership and ride it through the front door and do dougnuts in the show room for a solis 5 inutes with out stopping they will measure the ammount of rubber you leave on the floor and the ammount of smoke in the dealership and the person who leaves the most rubber and fills the dealership with the most smoke will win a new 2008 limited edition banshee and free gas and tires for life... the only catch is you have to do all of it naked.

got it figured out, it turned out that the tube that connects the carbs (right behind the choke) was bad. and the fuel wasnt going to the left carb. replaced the tube and she is running awesome now

everything is hooked up right and the boots are fine no cracks holes or other issues, they are as tight as they can get, slides are correct, everyhthing looks to be exactly as it should , the right side is the only one that is acting stupid. the left side does not pop or back fire but i have to keep the throttle open about 1/4 way for the bike to even stay running, air filter is brand new k&n i just replaced the filter last trip. everything looks right other than the fact that the right side popps and sputters and the right carb sounds like its sucking air and the bike wont idle or stay running with out the throttle at 1/4. and even then it runs for about 1 minute and dies
-
i had the carbs off the bike and taken to a local mechanic to clean the jetts, got it home put back together throttle was stuck wide open. pulled the carb cap and one slide was not in right so put it in right now carb sounds like it is sucking air. bike wont stay running if i just try to let it idle and when it is running it popps and back fires on the right side only? the only thing i have done to the carbs is re jett and add the new caps to accept a twist throttle but that was 2 years ago. i tried to do a redneck style leak test and sprayed starter fluid in areas around the carb when the bike was running figuering that if it was sucking in air it would suck the starter fluid in and the rpm would come up..no luck didnt work..any one have any clue why it would act like this. i have never had one problem with this bike. bought it brand new in 04 and to this day not 1 issue other than normal maintenance..stock carbs, 310 main, they are clean as new..im stumped and i have a race comming up on sunday the 25th..
-
ok so i had my carbs cleaned out by a shop i was refered to by a friend. when the bike came home the throttle was stuck wide open, i have a twist throttle and it would not snap back to the off position (for lack of a better term) so i pulled the carbs and noticed one of the slides was not shutting the little groove in the slide was off othe tab it slides on. so i got it taken care of and the throttle now closes and works like normal but i hear this sucking air sound now? it sounds like its comming from the carb somewhere, but its hard to tell because the airbox is right there to it doesnt sound like that deep sucking sound you get from the air filter, any ideas on what to check or where to start to figure out where and why it might be sounding like the carb is sucking air??? ohhhhhh and they are the stock carbs, no mods except the new caps for the twist throttle assembly

i think it can stay on..i dont remember its been a while since i switched over mine. but i dont remember having to pull it.. i know you have to pull it do do the break rotor. but the sprocket if i remember corrrectly will slide over it. i would highly recomend buying a set of replacement bolts for the sprocket though i noticed that they tend to break atleast 1 every time you try to change the damn thing. they ould strip out every time..they run like 40 cents each so its not a big deal to buy a few extras.. and if you dont need to use them you have them in the tool box if you do need them..you can never have enough oem parts laying around if you ever need something the night before a riding trip its there,,

i checked the kenda web site and they dont seem to offer that tire but it might be still avaliable for special order

ok i went through about a billion different gearing combos and here is what i found...if you wanna go realy realy fast and have zero low end run a 15/39 set up,with no mods other than pipes and jetting you get about 100mph on the top end after you finaly slug your way to the power band.. if you want to go fast and have low end run 14/43..you lose about 3-5 mph on the top but gain torque down low i am currently running a 14/44 set up but i have the timing advanced to +4 and im piped and jetted for sea level. and i have the k&n filter tors removed bla bla bla.. but so far the best set up (for me) is the 14 front and 43-44 rear. i ride glamis for fun and i race the so cal desert races. and that gearing set up gives me good speed and lots of pull out of corners and in the dunes. if you are riding trails try a 14/43 set up. you get a it more out of the gears and alot more pull out of corners and up hills. gearing all comes down to personal wants and needs...i like the 14/44 my buddy that i race with likes the stock 14/41 some guys like 15/39 its all going to come down to what you are looking to get by re gearing, and where you ride and your riding style. i ride very agressive and always push to the extreme so i like the hard pull out of corners or slower sections. but again im racing against the 4 strokes that are built to have that pull and that imediate power and not have to wqit untill you get in the band to get going..so play with it a bit and find something that fits your riding style and riding area..but try the 14/43 and see how you like it..

i like that look of the pipes being inside the frame but the no rear fender look just makes it look a bit old and beat up..almost like it should be riden by a fat bald guy riding in flip flops and short shorts and no shirt wearing a torn up baseball hat and holding a can of cheap beer...but thats just my opinion]

I HAVE BEEN USING REDLINE ATF IN THE MOTOR YAMALUBE 2R TO MIX GAS AND REDLINE HAS A PRODUCT CALLED WATER WETTER FOR THE RADIATOR. THE MAXIMA THAT SO MANY SEEM TO LIKE I FEEL IS JUNK I USED IT ONE TIME AND MY BIKE SHIFTED LIKE I USED ROCKS FOR OIL..THE REDLINE OILS ARE A BIT PRICY ABOUT $14 A QUART (IN SO CAL) AND THE WATER WETTER IS ABOUT $10 BUT THE BIKE RUNS SUPER COOL ITS WORKS BETTER THAN ENGINE ICE OR ANY OF THE OTHERS I HAVE FOUND, I CAN RUN A 100 MILE DESERT RACE AND GET OFF THE BIKE AT THE FINISH LINE AND TOUCH THE PIPES ANT THEY ARE WARM BUT NOT HOT. I WILL NEVER USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN REDLINE FOR OIL AND RADIATOR FLUID AGAIN... I HIGHLY RECOMEND TRYING SOME.. YOU CAN GET 6-8 TRIPS ON THE REDLINE OIL AND WHEN YOU CHANGE IT IT STILL LOOKS LIKE ITS FRESH... I USE IT IN MY TRUCK AS WELL AND THE WATER WETER MAKES THE TRUCK RUN ABOUT HALF AS HOT AS NORMAL PEAK PRESTONE OR ANY OTHER AUTOMOTIVE COOLANTS.. I SWEAR BY IT AND WONT USE ANYTHING ELSE..THEY ALSO MAKE OIL FOR THE SHOCKS AND IT LASTS 10 TIMES LONGER THAN MOST OTHER PRODUCTS OUT THERE
