  1. ok pinks is the stupidest damn show ever.. why in the hell would you want to race some asshole who only wants to run nos and start 500 yrds in front of you only because he is scared to lose..go get a tree and race straight up and be a damn man about it...... but hey i will race you on pinks any day any time..i just want to start 30 feet from the finish and you have to wear a blind fold and ride backwards on the bike and it has to be a dead engine start...oh wait you have nos so i want o make sure you cut the $300 worth of tubing and controlls out of it first and run water in the gas tank.. ohhh yeah and dont forget that you have to bring some loud mouth jerk off friend to stick up for you when you lose and bitch and cry that my bike is tooooo fast and you didnt get a fair chance because your pu$$y hurt... i say FU@# PINKS AND THAT LAME ASS FAGGOT HOST KICK THEIR STUPID ASSES OFF THE AIR AND PUT ON SOME REAL SHOW LIKE MAYBE ATV MAGAZINE TV.. OR MORE FOOTAGE FROM THE DAKAR RALLY...
  2. what do you mean comming for glamis again? they have never stopped trying to close it off. i have been riding glamis and gordons well my entire life (mom and dad have been going out there since they were in highschool) and back in the day it was free to camp and you could ride the entire stretch of dunes from innerstate 8 to north of 78 or 79 what ever highway it is that runs through glamis.then all the sudden it was $10 for a 7 day camping pass now its up to $25 for a 7 day pass and these tree hugger bastards are closing the dunes because of some dam weed that grows out there??? there has been several court battles over it and the tree huger fags turned insufficiant evidance to prove their case and the dune closure was to be lifted. that was back in late 90's early 00's and not 1 inch of dunes have been re opened..now if you look at a good map of the imperial sand dune area you will notice that the east side of the dunes there is a closed area that is a dedicated tortus habitat. i got no problem with that. how ever if you look close you will notice that it is inside of a millitary bombing area. so we cant go in to check out the desert tortus's that live there because we might hurt one ,but the us government can drop live bombs on them?? so the way i see it is here we are stuck riding smaller areas because of a damn weed that grows in the sand, but the government can bomb an area dedicated to a habitat to protect an endangered species??? the ASA AMA ATVA and many other offraod groups have spent several hundred thousand dollars trying to get these closed areas re opened and there is now rumor that even more of the southern california desert is under attack, superstition and occotillo wells are now on the firing line aswell. the us government wants to close off a giant section of the area to do geo thermol testing. so this is not the first time or the last time we are going to be seeing posts like this about lets fight to keep the desert open. as long as there is money to be made there will be threats of closing the desert. you figure how much it costs to file the court papers to fight it and how much the us government makes off those cases, there is no way in hell they will ever stop trying to take our riding areas away from us as long as they make money onb us fighting them on the issue, but the second we stop spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a year to fight it we have lost and the desert will be a tree huggers paradice
  3. just from the photo you posted im saying pull the carbs and give them a super good cleaning.. no matter what those carbs should be cleaned out periodicaly anyway. B12 or chem tool carb clearner works very good. even with a good airfilter and outerwear if you have any sort of gaps or holes or anything where dirt can get in past the filter the carbs will clog faster than you can imagen..the jetting should be right if you had the pipes installed by a shop with any skill most pipes come with a jet kit, i run the fmf fattys and they came with the new jett kit, my buddy is running t6's they also came with a jett kit, but if you bought the bike used its hard to say who put on the pipes and if they did do the jetts. but like i said a super good carb cleaning is always a good idea and since you are pulling them to check jetting anyway its just a few extra minutes to clean them anyway
  4. ok i know this is like beating a dead whore but,, what if.... say yamaha does really come out with this new 4choke banshee? i mean if you look at the banshee as it is now there are a ton of things they have not improved on in years and years, what if yamaha finally deided to improve the things that need to be improved and put a 4 choke 500 motor in it? would you give it a second look? and would you still consider it a true banshee. the mag talks about it being a snow mobile motor why not? the original motor was suposed to be for a street bike? look at the suspension an a stock shee its complete utter shit and its front heavy and the low end sucks and even though im a loyal banshee owner and rider i like the power of the new 4 chokes they just arent comfy to ride. the banshee is a super comfy bike so what if they really do re vamp it as a 4 choke?????? what then
  5. i have an 04 banshee and last trip out she did the same thing to me, slow and gutless on the start and was getting a bit boggy in the band. try pulling the carbs and cleaning the piss out of them. i had to completely take mine apart and clean the hell out of them, they were full of gunk, also think about doing a top end if its an 04 and on the stock top end it is way past time to replace it. what gas/oil ratio are you mixing at? and what kind of oil? i noticed that my shee only likes yamalube 2R any other oil it runs like complete shit. the gearing shouldnt be an issue i have ran every possiable combo and fr the type of riding i do (desert racing ands dune riding) i am super happy with a 14/44 set up. you lose a bit of top end but you gain low end and it becomes hard to keep the front end down i also advanced the timing 3 digrees with the 200w ricky stator and adjustable timing plate..but all in all it sounds like you may be in need of a top end and a good carb cleaning
  6. i run the hare and hounds on a banshee and i do just fine..
  7. im running the alba kit you are talking about and its awesome, yes they are a +2 +1 with elka shocks...i have never had a complaint about the shocks or arms, but be careful ordering from those guys, i just had a very bad experiance with them l;ast week...i live about 6 blocks from their shop and i took my girls bike in for a top end it took them 3 months to do they jacked the price up on me 3 times and i could never get a straight answer from them. i caught their service dept in a lie. one guy told me that the parts were on order, he told me it was going to cost me $760 to re do the top end of her bike (2004 suzuki rmz250) 2 weeks later a different guy calls to ask if i want them to order the parts to fix the bike..and i told him that 2 weeks before i had told someone to do the top end and go ahead and order parts and now 2 weeks later nothing had been ordered and my bike was still untouched? so i told the 2nd guy to get r done, 2 weeks later i get a call to ask if they should order parts, here im thinking they are calling to tell me its ready to be picked up and go riding, not the case its now 6 weeks in the shop and still not even touched, and now the price just went up to $1,298 for a top end on a bike... when i finaly got my bike back 3 months after dropping it off and 2 different price hikes i was a bit upset to learn that they lost the bolts that hold the plastics on and now tell me that they dont have any so i had to go buy all new bolts, so like i said be careful ordering from those guys, they lie and cheat their customers
  8. i do desert races and dune riding and found that over all the best set up so far is a +2 +1 set up with a good shock (elka for example) does awesome in both i can hit most whoops pinned 6th. i would recomend having all 3 shocks on the bike re done for you and your specific riding style and what not, any good shop will valve the shocks to accomidate dunes and other terrrain, a good idea is to have a fromt set of shocks with compression and rebound settings so you can tiinker with the suspension depending on where you ride...for example on my rear shock i have it marked on the shock how many clicks from zero for each different area that i ride..i like it a bit stiffer in the sand and a bit softer in hard pack, other people might be just the oppposite but where ever you ride valving the shocks is one of the best things you cqan do to improve the handeling of the bike..keep in mind that if you run a bigger tank i.e the ims 5.6 gallon desert tank to tell the people doing the shocks so they can acomidate for it..i run a 5.6 gallon tank and when full its a bit sloppy but with the shocks valved properly they still fade a bit but as the gas in the tank goes less and less it equils out with the shock fad on long rides and it keeps the shocks feeling fresh all day..
  9. hey i dont care what motor it had in it, it finished DAKAR. as a desert racer myself im glad to see that they finaly are showing a bit of the quads this year on the DAKAR, in years past we quad guys get left out..but to even finish DAKAR is a win in itself. i do local hare and hound in so cal and just the 100 miles we run on our little sunday races kick your butt but to do over 5,000 miles and try to be competitive is crazy, i want to do dakar one day but i could care less if im first or last just as long as i make it to dakar..to all this years finishers hats off to you.. car bike quad or truck its a hell of a race and to just finish is a task that 99% of the people on this planet will never know the feeling..
  10. check into the night rider hid set.. it comes ready to go battery and lights also includes the switch..i run them with the trail tech bar mount lights and they work awesome..they cost about 500 for the h i d kit with everything you need to mount and run them..even the tools to mount arre included in the kit

  13. i race district 38 in souther cali. and im running a stocl swinger with an elka rear shock and i fly through the desert, the biggest thing you can do to improve the ride is have the shock valved for your weight and riding terrain. the compression and rebound is a big help too. but if you dont set it right you end up with the rear end being too slow on the return or it becomes very bucky and will try to throw you over the bars. i would also say that +2 is the absolute max you want to go on the swing arm if your gonna race desert.. but then again what do i know i have only won 2 of 3 races this season in my class.
  14. there is a problem with hipers though....they dont bent the shatter...you can get back to camp or home on a bent rim...but i have seen the hiper shatter and all the sudden your shee is a 3 wheeler
  15. www.albaaction.com
  16. the sad thing about this is that it was probibly already stolen and they rode the piss out of it and when it ran out of gas they just left it there...it was glamis right???????
  17. that sure would be a fun ride...step off the banshee onto that all you need after that is a beer and a steak ant you would be able to die happy
  18. moose racing makes a realy nice one..its like $150 but its way longer and its way less tention on your thumb...but i say be a man get a twist
  19. i would love to see a banshee style four croke, the seating on the banshee is so comfortable, if you have ridden the 450's they are a motorcycle styse set up with the seat being so high and the bars so low...the banshee is so plush..like i said the banshee has many design problems but if they are going to keep it i would rather see the banshee re done and keep the seating possition or just get rid of it all together
  20. uhhhhhh did anyone bother to read the yamaha web site and the specs on the 2006 banshee????? ITS THE EXACT SAME BANSHEE THEY HAVE BEEN BUILDING FOR 10 YEARS... nothing has changed on the banshee sence they changed over to a arms..what like early 90's its the same thing year in and year out..the only thing that changes is the colors and they dont even change that much.. i dont get what it is that all these people are so in shock and awe about the 2006 banshee its a banshee its been the same damb banshee for ever now. put the 2004 2005 2006 all next to each other and you tell me what the damb difference is?? hell put a 1987 banshee with an aftermarket front end and tell me what the freak is the difference..its the sme shit year after year...oooooohhhhhhhhh mmaaaaaannnnnn the new banshee is so bad asssss its the same freaking thing they have been building NOTHING IS DIFFERENT.. i for one am kinda glad to see that the 2006 is the last year banshee..dont get me wrong i love my banshee and wouldnt traide it for the world but it is a shitty design..way front heavy weak frame too much spin in the rear traction sucks..the list goes on and on...i would love to see the banshee continue on in production if the yamaha guys would make some changes and improve some shit but untill then its not worth it.. so to all those who think the 2006 banshee is the best thing ever built..blow me..its the same as it has been for years.. i know im going to get hell for this post but i hope that just one person takes the time to actualy look at the specs on the 2000-2006 banshee and see that it has not changed
  21. not to sound mean but DUMB ASS
  22. yeah but dont forget the pipe plug.. you gotta stuff that pipe plug down as far as you can after you change the silancer bearing or that shit will robb power like crazy...i had to use a 3 foot long piece of rebar to get my pipe plugs to seat in correctly...and grip greese dont forget that.. hey how does that weisco stuff work...i have just been using straight gas and it works good...
  23. ford truck with a long bed hauls my toy...but if the little lady goes and i have to lug her bike out i use a carson 6x10 flat bed trailer
