  1. Any more you can just buy cylinders that already have the porting from the factory. Like the Cub cylinder. It already has what most builders would charge an arm and a leg for in porting. Yes, there is still work to be done on them, but they are a damn good running setup from the get-go. I've never been on a dyno, but I know mine is pushing around pretty decent power. If you try and teach yourself porting you will start to understand what it is they charge for. Go get some books on static/dynamic flow characteristics, and some porting manuals from the 80's and you will start to see... There is a LOT more than just rooting around in there with a dremel. Why are engineers paid so much? Anyone can slap some shit together, its the knowledge to do it safely and effectively that makes them the big bucks.
  2. Its all a bunch of hippie bullshit. Someone with a video editing program did tha video clip that looks like a cruise missile hitting it. They showed the original video on CNN the day after it happened and you can see the plane hit it. If you look around hard enough you can find the original video that shows the real thing. Its about time saddam got overthrown. That guy was a prick. I have family and friends over there fighting and support them and their cause 150%.
  3. We are putting off this particular trip to St.A's. Having some troubles with the sand rail and short sand car that need to be taken care of before we take a trip that far. Little cracks in frames that need welded, heim joints that need replaced, new brakes needed on both, new sprocket on the shoft sand car, tuning on both, etc. Also found out the idler gear bushing on ricks 10mil ate itself while we were tuning it last weekend so we need a new one of those...
  4. Yeah, i like the sister more than the girl he is with. I'd of been like OK lets go and left the girl at the door. LOL
  5. Polished stock clutch cover with cascade inserts. $175 Seperate inserts for clutch cover, cascade. $70 for the pair, $35 ea.
  6. I just put them in by hand. Spread the two ends enough to get the back side of the ring started then walk them in from there. Never had any trouble with it. You can also start one end, then walk them in all the way around to the other side. Just be careful. I've never had any trouble yet doing it this way. Never broken a ring or scratched the piston or anything.

  8. I second that. They are the only thing I run. If you want junk order some namura pistons. ROFL what a joke those are.
  9. At this elevation my compression is usually around 152-158psi. Depends on if the weather is really hot or pretty chilly when I test, but its usually around there.
  10. If you have an o-ring head, check your o-rings. If its a stock head, check your head gasket. I would start at the carbs first. Clean them real good and see how it does. If you clean them and its still doing it then start swapping parts between cylinders and see if the problem jumps to the other cylinder. Start with coil wires, then reeds, carbs, intake junk, etc. Was this problem just comming out of nowhere, did you recently put something new on the bike, have you ever done an actual plug chop to check jetting, give a little more background about how/shen the problem started...
  11. As far as I know there hasn't been anyone named woody who did any porting at K&T. Its a family owned business and they have always put their logo on their cylinders. Looks like this...
  12. If I'm not mistaken wasn't loco going to start making custom swingers? I now he had a jig all made up for them. I got my swinger from him and its a beast. I love it. I just got it chromed and it looks damn nice.
  13. Depends on the year, the first couple models had different gearing. 14x42 or 14x41 is pretty normal.
  14. Any kind of "play" port or "dune" port is what you are looking for. But you want more than just a cleanup port. All a cleanup does is remove casting flaws and maybe open things up a smidge, but you won't see the power you would from a more aggressive port. If Gorr was still in the U.S. I would suggest his port job, I had his cylinders and they kicked major ass.
  15. I've never seen the exhaust like that, but I've seen the sides cut down like that before. Let us know how they run!
  16. now now kids can't we all get along.
  17. You will find yourself spinning a lot with only 8 paddles and a stroker. I run 9 paddle extremes and they spin like mad. i should have gone with 10's.
  18. your new one should come with cushions, if not ask whoever sold it to you for new ones. don't reuse the old ones.
  19. I've talked to LOTS of people who have them and everyone says their first and second gear are real doggy. Gear them down and they wake up a little bit. I'm not impressed with them at all. I have yet to see one pass a YFZ in a drag race. I haven't seen one on a track, but they look like they would handle pretty good. I don't like them. I would take a YFZ over one of them any day.
  20. Go over on planetsand and check out their rides before you go flabbing your jaws about racing anyone. There's some serious shit over there on PS. They helped me tune mine pretty good. I'm not saying the CR500 isn't fast, because it is. But I hope you can back up your smack talkin. :baseball_w00t:
  21. It depends on how much compression you throw at it. If you are under 155psi you will be safe with 93 octane. I'm not sure what the cutoff is for 97 octane, probably close to 170psi. You will be fine running it with pump gas, just watch your compression. I run mine on 93 octane, but I'm at 7500ft.
  22. F.A.S.T. is on BHQ here, do a quick search for him. All the others you can find via google. http://www.ktperformance.com/ http://www.patriotracing.net/ http://passionracingengines.com/
  23. Yes your bike will run ok without them, but they are a good thing to have. Any time you have multiple cylinders you should have something to equilize the pressure between the cylinders during operation. Its a good thing to have, but not totally necessisary.
  24. Actually that's not true. If you have crap on the threads, oil/grease/etc even if you tighten them to spec they can still work lose sometimes. The vibration on the axle is pretty good at messing lots of stuff up. If your threads are all perfectly clean it might hold. I've had them work lose with clean threads and torqued to spec in the past. I use blue loctite now and haven't ever had a problem with them.
  25. They are basically just going to remove some material from the base of the head. Make sure its good and clean and put a new head gasket on there and re-install on your bike. DO A COMPRESSION CHECK before you run your bike and make sure you don't need a higher octane fuel. If you are below 155psi you are safe with 93 or 91 pump gas. Anything higher than that you need to start mixing race gas. Make sure you use a NEW head gasket, don't reuse the old one.
