  1. How are you measuring the temperature? What was the temperature that you measured? ................If you do a search, these products have been reviewed before. They do work in engines and generally do what the claim within reason. If they do not, then you may have something wrong with your equipment or your measurement setup.
  2. Castor 927 is the only way to go.... :geek:
  3. If you are interested in designing any parts of your own, let me know. I would be glad to help. Besides.......... I know the guy that designed some of ModQuads stuff. :ermm:
  4. That's probably a good move. That sucks that is how it wound up though.
  5. I am guessing that ad is from one of the Vegas residents that use english as a second language. I would rather see someone come up with a custom fiberglass front section for one of those tanks instead of hacking up a Fullbore nose.
  6. That's why I compared it to a Banshee.......... That way I didn't have 30 people wondering what I really meant by the several other ways I thought of explaining it.
  7. My timing plate hss a Rolex in it......... It has China stamped on the back though. Is that good?
  8. They are stop aeration and cavitavation around the jet sump. They also sort of complete the jet sump..... ..........and, as said before, they need to be installed. :geek:
  9. Composites are not tough to do. The resin/matrix ratio is not hard to determine. If you need help let me know. I'd be making them too if there was money in it. Trick Licks make there own CF body work and Lou Swan Jr. (of Twister affinity) also has been making some appear lately. Fullbore will also do a carbon print plastic...... if you special order them.
  10. It's not that hard to make one out of CF. You just need to make a female mold with bondo on some plywood, then seal it with primer, and do a simple vacuum bag lay-up. If you feel so inclined, I can guide you through the project. :geek:
  11. In general DEKA makes a great battery. They are as good or better than equivalent Optima batteries for quite a bit less cost. :geek:
  12. Word. I made a dew sets of pipes several years ago that I parted company with on bikes I sold. They might be considerd Dumbass pipes, but not Doma.
  13. PM Dinner on here........... He can do whatever you want. If he gives you crap, tell him I will cut him off on diesel info.
  14. There have been a couple good ones over the past year in QUAD magazine.
  15. PM Locogato on here. Hill climbing is all he does with his bike....
  16. You shouldn't need race fuel with that setup unless you have a rediculous amount of ignition timing. Assuming the engine is setup right, I would guess you would have ~150 psi at sea level.
  17. It's plausible........ If you are racing, it's probably worth the ~$80 to find out. It's a good mod. anyway if you don't need the "reserve" feature.
  18. Yes, unlesss you have a custom OOF setup....
  19. IMO you have a border line setup with regard to needing a lock up. A good clutch kit and springs, with some of the shift improvement hardware that Jeff sells all of, would be a good way it go. If you just want the flashy clutch cover, you can run one of them without a lock up if you like.
  20. You may have to go up in jetting if the specific gravit of the fuel / oxygenate % is high enough. If take VP 4.x fuels as an example, you may have to go up a main jet size or two. Just like any other fuel............. you have to tune for best results.
  21. Oxygenated fuel is where it' at for sure. You need to make sure that you use a compatible pre-mix oil with the fuel you choose. Some oxygenate additives do not like some oils. R50 is a good oil to use that works with most oxygenates that are commercially available. I do not endorse the use of AV Fuel in an engine not designed for it. :geek:
  22. If I recall, on the '84 250R I used to have, the cases are split in a horizantal fashion (opposite of a Banshee).
  23. I agree. However, for squish, I would like to see a better micrometer or a good (not Harbor Freight) set of calipers be used.
  24. If it's not obvious, the Harbor Freight micrometers are good for rough measurements and comparisons. They are not good enough to use to design/machine/inspect parts to........ :geek:
