  1. i am selling my toomey T5 pipes and silencer, they are chrome and in amazing condition. they have been used about 4 times and have no blueing. they come with the rubber clamps that connects the pipe and stinger. I will also include the air filter that came with the pipe kit, and jetting specs for a stock banshee. i am asking $400 shipped to your door in the US, ask for shipping to other countries. here are some pictures: these pipes sound sick and perform just as well. if you have any questions or you want a sound sample, just ask. the only trade i would be intrested in is a similar condition set of sheerer inframes. i will polish up the silencers and pipes for you, they look very sick. thanks for looking!!
  2. i had a similar problem with a cr 80 that i bought. the owner gave up on it, there was a huge dead spot in the middle. it would bog like a bitch then just pull like a mother. all i did was go one down on the clip and it ran like top every where.
  3. when i was all stock i didnt have to change my jetting going from T6s to T5s. it may be diffrent for you because you are slightly more modded.
  4. hey, i was reading somewhere that some guys use the smog pumps from a car as a kind of supercharger on motorcycles. i bet you could find a good one in a junkyard and get it for hardly anything. what does everyone think of this idea? i think it would work pretty good. i mean, im no expert, so i dont know if it would even work or not. i think it would be a pretty cool project to do on this on a little cr 80 i got, if i fuck it up, i wouldnt care. for those who dont know what a smog pump is " A slang term for an air injection system pump. Used to pump extra air into the exhaust system to help the converter reburn pollutants". whatcha think?
  5. the bike has a bottom end dune port. i ride alot of sand pits, and trails sometimes. the trails arnt real technical, mostly pretty fast. we like to do hillclimbs and alot of WOT riding. i talked to jim and he said the sheerers would be the best pipe for my setup, im just wondering what everyone thinks of them.
  6. hey, im looking to pick up a set of chrome sheerer pipes and silencers for a set of chrome T5 pipes and silencers. they must be in good condition with minimal blueing. my T5s are in very good condition, still shine like new!! here are some pictures. throw some offers at me, i am flexible with the trade. i have some stock parts i could throw in too. i am also willing to sell them for the right price. a new set of sheerers are about $465 so i would say $400 shipped for the pipes.
  7. no, they are not. he just seems to think they are poor quality, i know for a fact they are a better ride and feel than the stockers.
  8. hey,im thinking of trying to trade my T5s and pick up some sheerers soon. maybe even sell them and buy new ones. does anyone have a sound clip? i really want to hear them before i go looking for them. Or at least tell me what they sound comparable too, CPI, rockets, ETC.... i am choosing these over CPIs bcause i think they are pretty ugly, and any of those pipes will put perform my T5s with my setup. how are the quality of these pipes, like chrome and fit? im sure i will think of more questions so just give me time thanks!! EDIT: DOH' i should have put this in the jetting and exhaust fourm!!
  9. heres a good site that deals with all kinds of dirt bikes, there are alot of people with 250's there so im sure they wll be able to answere your questions http://www.allthingsmoto.com/forums/index.php?
  10. im "restoring" this 99 cr 80 i got for real cheap and today, since it was apart i decided to pain tthe swingarm. i gave it 3 coats of primer and 2 coats of this "non slip" black paint made by rustolium. it looks sick, sort of like black vein, instead of silver vein. it is meant to be sprayed on the floor so your boots dont slip, so i am confident it will hold up well. if i wanted to make my swingarm black on my banshee, i would probally get it powder coated, though. hopefully i will get some pictures of it sometime this week.
  11. i got my DMP kit on ebay for $65
  12. why dont you just go to a dealership, they can order them for you. buying them from yamaha will probally run you the same as a full set of fullbores, and they are much nicer IMO.
  13. but T5s are $530 with a filter, jets, and great instructions. the ptr's are much more expensive.
  14. i just bouhgt a spark plug lock from them. those little fuckers always seem to come loose!! im thinking what happens if i dont notice one time and it will effectivly be an air leak and lean out that cylinder big time, NOT GOOD!! I recieved it promptly with no problems.
  15. oh, i was told the 125s make like 35 and the 250s make like 32, didnt really know for sure
  16. low horse power? they have more HP than the 250 thumpers( which i am refering to as the 250 for this post), but your right about it being tough in trails. the 250 have more controlable power for the average rider, thats why its the more perfered ride for a begginer. i noticed that you always need to be wide open with the 125's which is quite intimidating in trails since they have a pretty wild top end. i got to ride one this weekend, and ellisons kx 125 last weekend, they are very fun bikes let me tell you!!
  17. if you were to get a new one, definally get a -2. it suposedly makes the shee a much better jumper, MXer, and overal trail ride. there are ones on ebay for like 300 primer finish, im thinking of getting one and sending it derictly to a PCer to get a nice gloss black finish.
  18. did you do a spark test? if you have any firends with banshees, take thier coils and try them on your bike, but dont mess their shee up!
  19. T5s kick ass for normal riding and messing around!! plus they are good with other mods like porting, etc.
  20. the same damn thing happened to me. all i did was run a tap in it and it worked like a charm, i used the original bolt too. at least you got it worked out!
  21. haha, thats awesome!! i think i saw one fly into the stands
  22. but he is ported so what david says doesnt aply here.
  23. have you considered that the carb could be not be tuned right?
  24. your description is horrible. the black box is the tors. when disconnecting it, there shouldnt be a green wire unplugged, the tors wires are yellow/black and black. while your at it, disconnect the tors sensors from the throttle and parking break. i suggest putting some caulk or something where the wire comes out of the thumb throttle body to prevent dust and crap getting in there and making a mess. maybe take some pictures, if its running it isntyour stator, you just probally disconnected the wrong wire. see those yellow/black and black wires, just disconnect them, and you see that last one by it self on the left side of the pic, that leads to the box, disconect it then take out the box. i left the wire that is wrapped in the mess of wires just laying there, its not hooked up to anything so you dont have to worry about it getting messed up.
  25. i wouldnt tell him to get a 250, the 125 is enough to handle for a begginer. especially if he is new to 2 strokes!
