  1. i found out how the 450r got 2nd. they used all the money they made from making the power rangers edition 450r to pay off ATV rider. This thing will take a full blown cheetah banshee anyday. And even if it doesnt, it will ram that big horn up your ass.
  2. where was the yfz450 in that test??? The yfz was in third behind the 450r
  3. I was just reading the preditor review, you wouldnt believe what they said!! here it is OK, they say that the machine felt cheap and that the engine made "scarry noises" yup, that a well built machine. They talk about the front end being heavy and pretty much the whole machine is beefy. But still it is better than a banshee. They claim to chose a "Dune King" but they take into considoration the difficulty to drive?! thats just plain stupid! The V force doesnt slide well, is heavy, and is automatic, to me that equals up to be a total begginer quad for a big guy, not a "dune king". The maggazines today are pussies, not that im deffending the 450r, but they complained about not having eletric start, to me thats just extra, unneccisary weight. They also said that since "its hard to start it will ruin your day", ya maybe its hard to start if you weigh like 120 pounds, or if your a total fatass. To me it seems that the Banshee got the best review, but yet was thrown in last place What pisses me off the most is that ever friggin issue has a pipe shootout!! oh no, my pipe makes 1 HP less than yours!! Big deal, learn to ride and youll still beat him. They should review things like companies that do porting, thats some usefull info there. In this issue they give use banshee owners "special attention" its so stupid, they put an wanna be T5 pipe on there(Ct racing midrange pipes/sinlencers)and a modded head. throw like 9 pictures within 3 pages and call it a Set up article( CT racing's cure for the Banshee blues) what, may i ask is the banshee blues? Oh my God, putting a pipe on a Banshee, did it take you since 1987 to think of that? thanks for wasting space where you could be telling me what carbs are good for a ported banshee or who does great port work. Here we go, ill do my own Banshee set up article right here. T5 kit-600 porting-375 new carbs-200 BAM! you have a kick ass Banshee right there for a little over 1000 bucks, buy a used banshee for 4000, do these things, you have about 5000 in all. now sit back and laugh at all the raptors, yfz's, trx's, DS's,andV forces youve just raped.
  4. heres the cover. Please, if you guys know of any 2 stroke only or banshee magazines, tell me and I will cancel my subscription to ATV rider today!
  5. So, i was waiting since July to see the issue od ATV rider magazine in which the "Sanbox shootout" was going to be in. OK, here are the results. Just save them to your computer and zoom in to read the text. yes, thats right, the Banshee came in 7th out of 7. Gotta love the new plastics they felt the need to put on .Then came the predator,Then the DS650 X, Then this... , i thought a dune machine was supposed to be light and nimble, not a bus.. Third came the Yfz, i have no complaint with that. Then, this is what made me laugh. then they say this: It gets me so mad that all the people testing said the banshee was uncomfortable and hard to ride. I never even knew people put comfort into perspective when buying a sport quad. When your hauling ass it all feels the same! This is how it should have went: 1) banshee 2) yfz 3) raptor 4) 450r 5) predator 6) ds650 7) v force I know how a raptor feels going up dunes and it just sucks compared to my Banshee, sure its more work but who cares, thats what makes it fun. raptors are so god damn boring, my cousin who owns a raptor wants to sell his now just to beat me(not going to happen). Now when people read this review they are going to believe that they could kill a banshee with their 4-pokes, and whats worse is that its going to scare people away from it because "its so hard to ride" well, sorry for the long post, im gonna go make me a sandwhich.
  6. that workout must be the most painful exercise i have ever done. we have one of those at our schools weight room. its a short thick wooden pole wrapped in tape with a string thanks like 4 feet attached to it and at the bottom a 5 pound weight. it feels like your forearms have a horrible sunburn while you go up and down a couple times, wow does it burn. when you see someone doing it youd think they were faking because it appears to be so easy.
  7. looking at the dyno i think im going to either try to trade for sherer inframes or sell my tr6s and just buy them. if anyone runs them, how do they sound? i know they somewhat look like the tr6s. also, i was looking at a pic of them and it looked like they needed to take the fenders off for them to fit, this is a problem because i ride through mud sometimes, but i guess i can deal with it. will i need to shave the fenders??
  8. thanks for the replies, i was just worried that the t6s would just perform like crap. 67hp is enough for me, well, at least for now.
  9. does anyone know of a good shop that does porting in New Jersey? i would like to not have to ship my cylinders, but if i am forced to, their going straight to passion
  10. hey, im now starting to regret buying tr6's, i mean i love the sound and power but people say they dont go good with porting. Im now seriously thinking of getting a good port job, but Im not sure if it will be worth it with these pipes. Selling them and buying CPIs or t5s are pretty much not going to happen since i dont have the cash. So, do you think i should get her ported and see what happens or just stay away from it all together. and what increase in power do you think im going to see with a well ported engine with the tr6's. also, where do you think i should get it done? thanks.
  11. i found out that the problem was bad gas. i went out today and started her up, about 3 minutes later i tried giving her a little gas, but i didnt get much of a responce. now she was running like total crap, and stalled and couldnt get her started. before i take the carbs off i thought, what the hell, might as well try new gas. well after i put some new gas in she ran perfect and did not stall once during the 2 hours i was riding. thanks for the help, though.
  12. well i checked out the plugs and they are both the same, they look perfect so i know im not rich. could this be bad gas? i am using 87 octane, but am going to start using 93.
  13. thanks, im goining to go check that out, i was just out riding up and down my driveway again, it ran as strong as it ever did but it did stall once, no backfire though. its only stalled when i came to a stop. im not sure if it even backfired at all, it just made a sound i never heard before. im thinking its a carb problem, but not jetting. im confused because it runs perfect!
  14. hi, Today I was riding up and down my driveway and the shee was running great, maybe 45 minutes or so and it just dies out of no where when i was idling in nuetral, it took like 4 kicks to start but after that it ran fine again. then maybe an hour later it does the same thing, except this time it takes like 5 kicks to start but on the 4th kick i got a backfire, or atleast i think it was. since then it ran fine but i know that shouldnt be happening. could i be running rich? i bought the toomey tr6 kit, it comes with 280 mains, should i go down to 270? also, on the tips of the silencers there is a pretty thick layer of what i think is oil. maybe im mixing to rich, im running belray H1R at 32:1. one last question, im thinking of getting a noss head but i was wondering if it would run good with my tr6's, since they are for mostly stock engines. Thanks guys. ps. i cant do a plug chop since i have nowhere to ride right now.
  15. hey, i just put TR6's on my banshee but i have not rode with them yet. my cousin thinks i should gear it down a tooth or so for the trails, i was wondering if this would kill my top end or just take 4mph or so from my max. I am just woried about this because i want to destroy his piped raptor in a drag. also, what tires should i run, the stock ones do nothing but spin. Thanks
  16. the previous owner of my banshee was running bel ray H1R and its what im currently running, could i switch over to Castor 927? also, the bottle says run it 40:1 but the guy told me to run 32:1. he said it was rich but would keep the engine lubricated best, but it smokes alot so my neighbors complain. I dont really care about getting top performance as long as my engine is being well lubricated. should i just go 40:1?
  17. sorry, but i just purchased a used stock 03 for 4000.
  18. Hi, i just sold my previous quad and am now in the market for a new one. I want a 03-04 Banshee, perferably black and red or all black, that is in great condition cosmetically and mechanically. I dont want anything thats ported or that has any motor work. I would like pipes on it but stock is good too. I live in bloomfield, NJ, and am looking to buy real soon because I want to ride. email me at [email protected] , thanks! -Chris
  19. how mcuh do you think i can get for my 250ex? its practally brand new, it has an FMF megamax pipe, K&N air filter, dynojets, full skid plates, and nerf bars...
  20. Hey,I am 14,and looking to buy a banshee and at this time of year my cash intake is at a low. I have 2000 saved and am selling my............03 250ex, my uncle got to chose an ATV for me and he tought i souldnt start out with a clutch he got it for free, long long story. hopefully i can get about 3000-2800 for it, perfect condition, FMF exhaust pipe, and all that good stuff that is nessisary(hopefully my parents will chip in). so when i saw a banshee for 5999-not including tax and shiping, (luckily, i live halfway across the country in NJ) i went crazy because it has a pipe, toomey, air filter, TAG handle bars, jetting, graphics kit and seat cover. since i ride in the dunes i think most of this stuff is necissary. but my question is, do you know anyone who has this quad and how reliable is Alba. i cant see it being better or cheaper to buy one from a dealer. my next problem is that I am new to 2 strokes and i dont really know exacally how to service and maintain them. what exacally goes into owning a 2 stroke? how exacally do you mix oil, i dont really understand 32:1 , ect. these sound like stupid questions but i really have to know before i buy one. thanks
