Stock Banshee with Zero Size Pistons
chris642 replied to thegoodkidwhomightlikebanshees's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
i rebuilt my banshee last winter, got it ported, bigger carbs, noss head, i was done in mid december. i have not done shit since then besides clean the filter and change the tranny oil, always mixed up castor 927 at 40:1. it read 155 PSI last year, about a month ago i had the tank off to do some cleaning, and decded to give it another test. low and behold, 155 PSI still. i rode it at least twice a month for about 4-5 hours on end since then, about 11 mounths ago, always ridding it hard and revving it out. I think banshee motors are extremely reliable as long as you maintain it, people just give them a bad rap since they are dumbasses and need to blame everything else but themselves. -
i wonder what would happen if you really did try to sell it on ebay

some guy swears the banshee motor is a V-twin
chris642 replied to loganskinner's topic in General Banshee Discussion
yup, he is a dumbass. notice on harleys the V shape of the engine, hence the name V twin, duh. you could call the banshee a in-line 2 cylinder -
i think its good, it should only cost like $250 for a rebuild and $75 for a basket. depending on where you like, you could easily get 2 grand out of it, maybe even $2500 if your close to the dunes.

all the kids in newark(the ghetto) have those things, they take off the mufflers and since they top out at like 20 they are always at WOT WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE pretty annoying!!

http://www.megagps.com check out this site, i found the one i want here. just gotta save up something on the side for it
-
sounds good, the only thing that may keep me from making it is the price. i have to check out for sure, but i think a 3/4 inch 4x8 sheet of plywood would be like $25 each, i need 2 at least. i need a ass load of studs, and at least a 3x8 sheet of plywood for the top of the ramp, another $25. then i would need to make a landing ramp out of dirt or someething since a 4 foot launch ramp will definally get you at least 6 feet up and i aint flat landing that shit. and it needs to be angled like that, any ramp that is worth anything is. with the angle i want, going up it will be like hitting a brick wall!!
-
hey, i am thinking of making a little ramp to play with my rm 250 on. i found these, they are really for a quarter pipe for skateboarding, but it looks like a great design for a small launch ramp. it is about 4 feet tall, and 8 feet long. it would be made out of wood, metal isnt an option as i can not weld and wont be qualified to the point i would trust myself doing this for a while. im not going to be hitting it in no 4th gear or anything, so i dont think it wont have to be to heavy duty. anyway, here are the plans, does anyone know about how much it would cost to construct?? i havnt bought wood in a while so i cant really say. http://www.heckler.com/ramps/rampdet7.html

wow, your extremely close to me, maybe 15 mins or so. where do you go? my uncle just bought a house that is in front of the access way to miles and miles of trails in east hanover. i just go right through his back yard and folow a little path to the trails, friggin awesome but i have no one to ride with so i dont dare venture all the way into the trails. PM me where your going this saterday, if its close maybe i could meet up
-
wow, that is a genious idea, yet so obvious!! i think i might order 2 of those for my bikes!!

Throttle stick on shee and causes mayhem
chris642 replied to Bettler Banshee's topic in General Banshee Discussion
ya, its a real shitty deal. if your trottle got stuck when you were in a wheelie i can honestly say that there was nothing you could do. it takes a split second for a wheelie to go bad, even while at 1/4 throttle, if it hit the powerband wide open that thing would take off so fast. good luck, your gonna need it! -
damn, the banshee has had more color changes than micheal jackson

pretty cool, but drag racing a 4 stroke is like entering a retard into a spelling bee
-
i would have to see, but these things dont weigh to much, like 200 LBS. i will let you know if i actually get it tomorrow, it is a slavage auction so it is not guaranteed that im going to get it. where are you from, maybe i could find a place that would give me a quote, i know you arnt to far so it cant be THAT much.
-
hes probally talking about oil injection, like what is on the blaster right now. this is just so you dont have to mix the gas, it has no other advantages, unlike direct injection. you just fill a seperate oil tank and the oil is feeded into the carb where it mixes with the gas, but this could fail without you even knowing, thats why your dad went back to premix.

http://www.bluetraxx.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=85481 someone selling a 03 that needs a top end for $2000!! if i had the cash i would be all over this...

hey, i have an oppertunity to pick up a 2005 90cc four stroke kids quad made by "speedway" or something for a pretty low price from a salvage auction for car dealers. it is still in the crate it was shipped. im thinking of buying it, then selling it for a small profit. my real question is, are these things in demand? im thinking of selling it for $600 in the crate, or $650 fully assembled, preped, and gone over by me(retorque bolts, etc). you guys think it will sell?

damn, your gonna have like 240PSI on a stock engine with those 17cc domes!!

if you think its flooded take the plugs out and keep kicking it a bunch of times. if the plugs are fouled, cleaning them wont do shit, you need new ones. when my rm 250 fouls plugs, there is no way you would be able to start it, my banshee has never fouled a plug ever besides for when i flooded it which wasnt the bikes fault. -

you might of just flooded it. first time i tried to start my banshee i flooded it and fouled out the plugs. second time i kicked it maybe 30 times then relized the key was "off", luckily i only slightly flooded it and it started with like 15 kicks with the swich "on", LOTS of smoke though . after that i never had a problem starting it, when it was stock i would put the choke on the first clip, crank it, rev it up a little for 5 seconds and turn the choke of and let it idle. after i rebuilt it and got it ported it would start, even after 2 weeks of sitting, on the first kick with no choke.
