  1. i let mine sit for over a month, temp anywhere from 32-45 degree's, started like 6th kick the other day after playing wiht the choke. During the summer when i would not ride it for a little(week or two) it would start on the first kick always. When mine is hot it will always start first shot.
  2. if you really wanted to, and if your pipes are in decent shape, toomey will exchange your T6's for new T5's.
  3. t 6s are better on mostly stock bikes, after porting t5s will produce more power. Toomey even says this on their website. I loved my T6's, they were excellent pipes and sounded amazing, best pipes i ever heard. I traded them into toomey for T5's before i got it ported. The T6's definally pull harder on a stock bike and produce more bottom end than the T5's, if i stayed stock they would still be there. best looking pipes IMO!!
  4. you know what i was thinking all day today? "I wish i was at manchester"!!!!!
  5. BS alert!!! If any of the headligihts( or even if they are togehter coming out of the light switch) were pluged into the tors brain it would do NOTHING!!! there is only one wire connecting the headlights to the stator. if tors unit is unpluged it doesn nothing, if one of the headlight is unplugged what does it do? NOTHING!! connect them together and unbelievaly they will do nothing!
  6. I wouldnt say you got royaly fucked or that you have a parts banshee. Everything you listed really isnt a big deal at all, all your bolt problems can be solved with 2 taps, one for the clutch cover screws, other for the foot pegs. A stock banshee axel could be had for $15-$20 on ebay. new cases can be bought for $100-$125, everything else is small BS, a bolt kit is $15 on ebay, i just bought one. a 2001 DS aint no $4000 machine, i actually see a 2003 DS with piggyack elkas all around and aftermarket a arms with a $3,400 buy it now! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2003-Bombardier-DS-650-with-extras-not-honda-yamaha_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ63682QQitemZ4608019817QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW You may need to do a little work to it, but you will have a nice machine when you are done. It sounds like he will have to put just as much it the DS as you do, it cant cost more than $200-$250. for those parts. Hell, i practically got ripped off when i traded my RM 250. I was told the banshee ran good, all that was needed is carb repair. Turns out it is blown up and needs to be rebuilt, i didnt really give a shit because it was a project and will be sold for way more than that RM250 ever will. CJ really shouldnt be the blame or be sorry, its was your responsability to check it over. No need to announce it here too, your making CJ look like an ass.
  7. funniest thing i have yet to hear at my local dealership was when some guy asked if he should get a slip on or a bolt on for his streetbike. Cant forget the time i was there looking at a banshee(before i bought mine) and a salesman tried to intrest me in a 400ex saying "you can modify the 400 way more than a banshee".
  8. I like their kit alot. The quality of everything was great and everything has held up great for a year now with hardly any scrathes, there are only a it on the seat from tree branches. The seat cover was a bit of a pain to put on and get all the wrinkles out, but i left my stock cover on and it was the first cover i ever put on so that may be why it was so hard.
  9. thats easy to say, you know what would happen if i dropped the clutch on the RM 250 with it WOT!!
  10. sorry, but i cant help to chuckle a little bit. You wait 2 months to get a gas cap, then the one you get isnt even for a banshee. What the hell!! On the billet gas cap for my kx125 it says like cr/rm/kx, see if that cap says the model its for then sell it on ebay!!
  11. you didnt say what setup you should get, "neither" isnt even a valid answer if you were to ask which of the 2 you should get!!! Here are your options Chettah: Into a tree Cub: into a bigger tree You decide
  12. nothing unbelievable about that, its obvious, PV=good bottom and top, no PV=good bottom, bad top, or bad bottom, good top(cubs) I dont know where you heard they were more reliable, But they are much much cheaper since you can keep all your stock parts and the actual cost is lower too.
  13. I made bansheeryder one, since he asked for dunes i went to look up pics and saw one of snow covered dunes and i just at it for a while so i decided to use it as his background. Mixed it with another pic as well.
  14. thats a scary situation, happened on my RM 250 once!!! pulled the spark plug wire and it was still going!! My first exprience with a bike "dieseling" on me!
  15. its not very good or original, but i gotta go to bed!
  16. Your starting problem is most likely your low compression, it needs a rebuild!! You should be at 135PSI. 1.00 pistons means the cylinders are .040 over, you got plenty of bores left, use one!! those reed spacers do nothing more than allow clearance of the carb bowl from the clutch arm when you get bigger carbs. They are advertised as boosting bottom end but thats BS. You should run a good oil such as Maxima castor 927 at 40:1 (what i run), any other quality sythetic will do. Cant tell you about the carbs, been a year since i opened up my shee's carbs, been doing it alot on my old RM 250 though!! Cant help with teh PV either, i do know leaving it open wont damage anything, just render it useless.
  17. just payed sanddraggon for his stock head, thanks for the responce guys!!
  18. pics sent
  19. after reading this thread i went and picked some of that eagle one. It worked great, took everything off, i still gotta get into those real tigh spots however. I must say, this cleaner has the worst smell i have ever experienced, i could only imagine the results of someone drinking some. before after
  20. i will snap some pics tomorrow, i have a set. dont know wether they are front or rears, they are in good shape too.
  21. Hey, anyone got a stock cylinder head laying around they would sell for pretty cheap? Must be in good condition, no pitting, no warping, etc. Need it for my project shee, check my thread in images to see progress!!
  22. www.skinindustries.com, think you can order from there alba makes those tribal kits albaaction.com
  23. not true! Welcome!!
  24. Hey, im rebuilding my project shee and since i am low on cash i would like to know the cheapest place to buy some wiseco pistons. Any insight is greatly appreciated!!
  25. As long as your machine is in tune you wont have a problem, i let my banshee idle for 5-6 mins for a warmup and it never has fouled a plug. Come to think of it, it NEVER fouls a plug!! My old Rm 250, on the other hand, would always load up if i would let it idle for more than 2 mins or so, it was a little rich though.
