  1. Depends on how much you want to spend.Top of the line you got custom axis..but they are pricey and you get what you pay for. Then there is Elka..bit cheaper then Axis..but you get what you pay for...Works, Show Fox..ect ect. Next you got to figure out your riding weight, frame setup..ext A-arms/swing arms..Need to figure out what you want to run..single rate springs, double or triple rates...Then..Do you want Res. on your shocks? Do you want rebound and damping adjusters or just damping or none..All boils down to how much your willing to spend. Top of the line axis with compression and rebound adjusters will run you close to 1200 bucks.
  2. I don't know..Your always going to have gas on the reeds, or anything after the carbs for that matter. Did you have the choke on? Or did you just let it idle for 15 min? Sometimes..especially with the stock carbs, fuel will be drawn through the choke tube in the bowl when the choke is off. Does it run good otherwise? You might be jetted a bit rich..no big deal.
  3. Minor twisting you really won't be able to tell unless you pull the crank out and check it.
  4. If you run the dyna, you need a stock coil and stock timing on the stator alsoyou need to run br8es plugs.
  5. I don't own a raptor so that wasn't me..some otha pimp must be movin' in on my turf.
  6. Fronts or rear tires? 22's a bit big for the rear...anyways run the fronts at no less then 10 psi and no greater then the max allowed on the tire. Run the rears at 3-5 psi..but if you got 22's on the rear I'd bump that to 7 or 8 psi cause those baby's will roll in the corners and not want to slide.
  7. Good luck. I always get butterflies in my stomach when I think about gate starts...But it passes as soon as the gate drops.
  8. What do the plugs look like? Could be a little on the lean side. Also if your running it that hard, you might be hitting the rev limit.
  9. I had the chance to race against a few around here. A good rider on any bike will smoke a shitty rider on the best. I've beatem them in drags and on the track..but last week it was a tie between me and the honda 450. I can get em off the line but one missed gear and they are all up on you...My third gear is on it way out..not a good thing..Anyways those bikes are fast right out of the box and are a lot easier to handle so in the long run they will beat a shee as the banshee rider will tire out quicker...least I do.
  10. That's just SICK! I need to one up my game now.....It's really behind....Better practice my barrel rolls.
  11. I start on second, about 3/4 throttle till the flagger drops the one..Eye's on the gate link then full throttle feather the clutch and pull third before the turn. Hopefully everybody will be behind you. I usually have my weight up front out of the gate then I sit way back on the seat for traction.
  12. Take the return spring out of the thumb throttle housing.
  13. OOOH OOHH SHIT!! That's WHAT I've been DYING for!! Man thems some BAD ASSSED pipes!! Nothin' says lovin like a stocker in the oven.
  14. My old 87 cdi crapped itself. Start small and check one thing at a time...It would suck to burn 400 bones on a new cdi when the problem was a 25 cent connector.
  15. Try moving the kick starter up a couple of splines. Also there is a gear that is pushed outwards when you kick...that could be mesed up.
  16. Straight race fule won't hurt. Mix it at 32:1 and see how it runs..Does it run better with the choke on?? If it does your running lean
  17. The funny thing is that the Parents were all pissed at their kid for for hitting me. They were all nice people. I offered to pay for the damages seeing as I was the older of the two involved but they said no. So I helped them load the bikes and they went on their way and I went back to riding.
  18. Send them to Custom axis if your going to mail them out. They rebuild their shocks and have a program to help you get them dialed in. Give them a call. I Don't have their Phone number but they are a part of Penske racing...the same guys that make NASCAR shocks and Indy shocks makes shocks for your ATV.
  19. Where did you disconnect the hose from? If you took it off the nipple on the side case...It's going to leak as that vent is below the oil level in the tranny. Don't know why they made it like that..but it will ALWAYS leak. I've tried to plug it, but it blows the plugs out.
  20. Take it back to the dealer if it's still under warrenty.
  21. Mine did it itself. When the chain wrapped around the sprocket, it blew a chunk of case from the top. I just grinded it down and smothed it out. Then I cut the corresponding bolt hole on the plastic case and made it match. Now I don't have to pull anything off to change my sprocket.
  22. So there I was...NO shit..riding in the woods having a blast when ALL OF A SUDDEN a little kid on a honda 80 motorcycle come flying around the turn!. His dad was right behind him on a 400 ex...Needless to say I saw them coming and slammed on the brakes...but the kid didn't see me and cut right into my lane....Well I did all I could..Damn near missed him but my bumper cought his swingarm or foot..Don't know but it hit somthing and sent the poor boy flying. I ended up having to cut in to avoid a head on, then weaving back out to avoid the dad. Couldn't find any damage to his bike, but his foot was fucked up..along with a nice dent in my front bumper. Lesson to learn...Always check turns and STAY on your side of the trail...you never know who's coming around the berm. My luck It was a kid..Kid's luck it was a MX race ready banshee on a joy ride. I feel bad for the kid.
  23. Those new Yamaha 450 and Honda 450 are pretty quick bikes with somebody who knows how to ride them....Gave me a run for my money today!
  24. You don't want one big mono reed...the more tip surface the better. Mono reeds won't flex right. I think it would be hard to find good carbon fiber sheeting that thin..better off mail ordering a set I think. I can't hurt to try though..That's how you learn.
  25. Did you check the plugs? Also you need to use resistor type spark plugs and caps. Sounds to me like it's running lean on top. Check the spark from the plugs..if it sparks it's not electrical...Do you have any timing advance? Use a set of BR8es, as opposed to B8es..yes it does make a diffrence.
