  2. LMFAO!!!! Rare.
  3. How do you find out a Scotsman's Clan? ... Put your hand up his kilt and if you find a 1/4 pounder, he's a McDonald. Rare.
  4. Bike won't run on account of no spark. . But I'm guessing that your bike isn't running and you want to find out if it's the coil. ... If you've got a multimeter, do the resistance checks or substitute it with one that you know works. Rare.
  5. Anyone had problems with the above not fitting properly. They're of the Honda style, but I seem to have a lot of movement in all 4 ball joints. I torqued them correctly, and just in case that hadn't been enough, I torqued one of them double what it should be and it still made no difference. Rare.
  6. Smart thinking Ellison. And going by your signature, it looks like that's the way you've done it. Now you've got a chassis to handle the power of engine mods when required. Welcome to the BHQ, Sikwidit'. ... What make of airfilter is it? Whatever, get yourself a 'Recharger Kit' (cleaning kit). Unless the filter is fairly new, you'll be surprised how much dirt you'll remove. Also, hows your gearing? Is it original, ie. 14 teeth on the front sprocket and 41 on the rear. And what height are your rear tyres? Woops ... you guys call them 'tires', . BTW, Guys: Has the Banshee allways had 14/41 as standard or was it ever different? Rare.
  7. I'm sure that when I got this RD350 stator, I took resistance readings and found that it was not within the specs of the Banshee one. Here's some pics. Rare.
  8. I have two sets sitting next to me: One from a Banshee and one from the YPVS RD350. ... As far as I can see the plate is exactly the same, but the wires are different (which you know), and also the actual stator is totally different. ... The coils are a lot taller, almost twice the height. There are 17 coils on the RD one and there are 12 on the Banshee. The RD one weighs more than double that of the Banshee one. I'll try and get some pics up for you. Rare.
  9. Yip, I would use it too. As long as it hadn't been folded and was only bent over in the packaging. Rare.
  10. 14/40 (2.86) and 18" rears. Rare.
  11. I don't have the experience to say yes or no. But I bought my bike from an experienced UK MX racer who moved onto a 450. The set up which he had on this Banshee (which I've left the same) is 14/40. For me being a novice and having my first race yesterday on what I would call a tight track, I found this gearing really wild! ... 3rd gear mostly and 2nd for the tightest of corners, of which there were many. ... I can see that if I was more experienced and had some more confidence at clearing some of these BIG jumps (well they seemed BIG to me), I would have been using 4th gear aswell. I'm tempted to change to a 15t front to calm things down a bit untill I get a bit more practice. BTW The track was Knockhill, in Fife. ... Scotland. Rare.
  12. Not really. ... Just that you can rule out fuel and air problems for now. You need that mulimeter to test all your electrical components, wiring, and switches. (Except the cdi which can only be proved as faulty by substitution with a known good one). Rare.
  13. Great looking bike! Nice mix of blue and red ... works well. Could have done with your pic a couple of weeks ago in one of the forums. ... There seemed to be a lack of pics of Banshees fitted with the XC Armardillo bumper. Rare.
  14. Nice one fixitrod. ... A picture tells a thousand words. Rare.
  15. The Stator has two different windings, one works the lighting circuit and the other works the ignition via the cdi. You need to use a multimeter to test the resistance on the ignition windings and coil pickup circuit to confirm failure. Unlikely. Use something to hold it out half way. A hose clip or insulating tape wrapped around the shaft a few times. ... Take the plug cap from the end of one of the plug leads and hold it between 4 and 6 mm from a head nut (earth), and kick the bike over to check for a spark. Rare.
  16. That's about right, unless you're above 1000ft. ... Check out Dave Noss' chart at the bottom of his 'Banshee Heads' page for approximations on different altitudes. ... http://www.nossmachine.com/banshee_heads.htm Rare.
  17. Welcome to BHQ, mxbanshee. I read your post with interest. I'm in much the same situ as 01Banshee. ... I've got my first MX race on Sunday. I've not had much time on my 'Shee and in that time I certainly haven't had much experience with jumping. You've given a good explanation and I'll try and get as much practice in as I can over the next few days. Rare.
  18. Have you tried taking measurements from somewhere near the back on each side, (eg. a point so many inches in from the rear hub on the axle), to various points on either side at the front. It may show up something. ... Just an idea. Rare.
  19. Nicely written summary Ducman. Rare.
  20. If I was in your situation, I would replace the rotor. Think about an aftermarket 'wave' type of rotor, less weight and it'll run cooler. I'd also give the rear caliper a strip down and clean up ready for a fresh load of brake fluid. What brand of pads have you been using? I just put some TUSK pads in mine which are working great. Can't comment on their 'lifespan' as I've only got a couple of hours on them. I did have EBC in before and they lasted well, I thought I'd try the TUSK as they are a lot cheaper and Tusk products seem to be proving to be quality products. Rare.
  21. Can't help with the parking brake, as mine had already been removed. Rare.
  22. I just fitted the same pads in mine. ... I had no problems with fitment. Make sure you remove the lid from the master cylinder. Are you using a 'G' clamp to push the piston back? I also gently pushed the piston out using my hand on the brake pedal just to clean around the piston itself with clean brake fluid. Rare.
