  1. Yip, you'll be safe. ... BR8EIX for Iridium plugs. Dig deep in your wallet, they're not cheap! I've got a pair to go in this w/e, but want to do some plug chops on the standard type plugs first. Rare.
  2. That's down to you. You need to decide what's acceptable and what's not. Bear in mind that a scrutineer may pick up on it at the racing if it's too sloppy. ... They're not difficult to change if you've got decent tools. If they come out easily enough, then you're only talking about an hour or so. Have you tried tightening the axle nuts yet? ... I bet that takes most of the play out. Rare.
  3. It's not the idle circuit or upto 3/4 throttle that you're dealing with, it's at full power (3/4 to WOT). You really need to do a plug chop, which I'm sure is going to show up lean with the mods that you have. Your std. main jets will probably be somewhere between 200 and 220. I imagine you should be somewhere around 260 - 290. You don't need a jet kit, just buy pairs of jets. I'm sure someone with a similar setup to yours will chime in with their settings, as I don't know the 'appetite' of your pipes. ... Some pipes run leaner than others. Rare.
  4. YES you need to re-jet. If you don't, you're likely to destroy your engine before very long due to a lean mixture createing excessive heat in your chambers. ... More air requires more fuel. Read the topic about jetting that's pinned at the top of this forum page and then come back if you have any other issues that you're not clear about. Rare.
  5. Looking good in there! Who did the portwork? Rare.
  6. Are you sure it's not just your axle nuts that have loosened up? Any bearings will wear out through time. If you've got access to tools then it's quite simple. The actual bearings themselves can be a pig to come out and may nead some brute force. Try here for a good 'steps' guide. .... http://www.bluetraxx.com/axle_bearing_install_1_new.htm Rare.
  7. 95% Rider, 5% Bike. Nice find! Rare.
  8. I wouldn't imagine that porting makes jetting go down, as the ports are being opened to allow more air and therefore more fuel into the cylinders. I guess loco's correct when he says ... "man, your gonna have to be careful jetting those in. Porwork can be from one extreme to the other in regards to jetting." I have felt the same as you with regards to thinking my set up is lean. ... MX race port, skimmed head, Doma Racing exhausts, airbox lid removed, and K&Ns with outerwares. Elevation 600ft. The setup with the std. carbs on this bike is Pilot-25, Mains-270, and the jet needle on the bottom clip (richest). This is the way I bought the 'Shee and I believe it was set up on a dyno after the engine work. With the above setup, I've no problems in any range of the throttle from idle to WOT and have had no overheating issues. I'm just about to put on a DynaFS, so I'm going to get stuck into plug chopping to get the most out of the whole package. I've ordered 300s and 320s as I believe this is where I should at least be, but we shall see. Rare.
  9. Happy Birthday! You've got 3 months on me. Rare.
  10. Are wheels meant to be round? 'Cos my fronts are more square than round. ... They're getting fixed tho' Welcome to BansheeHQ. And 30's nothin' ... I'm 38. Rare.
  11. I went from tithead's dad's Kawasaki 220 4 stroke (which I used to ride just about everywhere at full throttle), to my MX ported 'Shee and put it in a hedge within 20 mins. And I'm still crashing the damn thing! ... Awesome power jump. Mind you, I used to crash the 220 a lot too! ... The dump truck was the best crash. This bike is going to be the death of me! rare.
  12. They may have told you to go up 3 sizes in your jetting, but did they really say to use a B8ES Plug. It needs to be the resistor type plug. ... BR8ES Quotes from Dynatek's fitting instructions: "The DynaFS ignition was designed to work best with stock coils, coil wires, plug caps, and spark plugs. The increase in spark energy from using the DynaFS ignition is enough so that adding any of these will not improve performance, and can cause problems. Use resistor type spark plugs ONLY. Use the stock resistor style spark plug cap." I suppose there is a contradiction in there where they say to use "stock ... spark plugs" and then go on to say "Use resistor type spark plugs ONLY". I guess they assume that the stock plugs are resistor type. Jetting: "Use of this ignition may require rejetting of the carburetor to supply more fuel to maximize performance gains. ... Curve 4, the stock curve, is least likely to require any sort of jetting adjustment. Using the other curves may result in a lean misfire condition at high RPMs when the jetting is not properly set." Rare.
  13. Are you sure you've got it set on the lowest range of Ohms? If so, when you touch the two leeds of the meter together you should get a reading of a small amount. (It's just the resistance of the meter's circuitry). Rare.
  14. Yip frocash, you're right about them not being big outlets. But they're actually "Doma Racing" silencers. Rebuild. ... Sent the bent axle off yesterday, so replacement arrives mid-week and we're going to do the straightening mid-week aswell. Front wheels go to repair shop on Monday. Fingers crossed I'll be racing next Sunday, even if it does drive a bit squint! Rare.
  15. Not sure what you mean. ... If you mean how many $$s, then I didn't think anyone would want it. ($1 + shipping). ... And if you mean why did I put it in the 'for sale' section, then I did it just for a laugh. Needed something to make me smile after my crash. Rare.
  16. Well, a bit more than 'Slight'. Rare.
  17. Thanks JKJK. Might not be fitting it for a while. .... Trashed my 'Shee big time today. More to follow tomorrow. Rare.
  18. Just received my Dyna FS. ... Is the single brown wire an earth? I assumed that it would have had a ring terminal (rather than a female bullet connector) like the original cdi to make it more obvious. ... Unless my (reduced) wiring harness has been altered. Rare.
  19. tithead fitted his sheep with that system. ... But he fitted 'er with tartan lace! Rare.
  20. In that case, it might help to have the bike warmed up when you come to do the job. Amazing what a bit of heat can do. Also, can you put up a post on how you find the VForce3's when you've got some hours on them. The HQ could really do with some reviews on these. ... What make of reeds have you replaced? Rare.
  21. What did you have before? Rare.
  22. Should work ok. Fingers crossed for you. ... Did it shear off when tightening or trying to remove it? Rare.
  23. Thanks guys. Ordered it today. I hate the inflated prices in the UK. ... $58 + $10 shipping! Rare.
  24. My TORS is gone and I'm on a twist throttle. I want to change back to a thumb throttle, but will need a different cable. ... What brands of cable will work in my situation and are there any that I should keep away from. The ones I've heard of are Motion-Pro and Terry, but do they make a cable that will work with my standard carbs that have had the TORS removed. Please add a part# if you know it. Thanks, Rare.
