Well, thanks for the feedback. The machine is mainly stock, so there is not a lot of added value. I like it, but as was mentioned there is not a real lot of good areas around here. I am looking to get a 4 wheel drive like all of my friends have. The Banshee is not built for the kind of riding around here, although it is a real fun machine. If I can't even get close to $1000 for it I will probably just keep it. Thanks again, - Josh

I have an 88 Banshee that is in good condition, but probably needs the top end freshened up. I am contemplating selling it and was wondering how much it would be worth. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, - Josh

I just wish I could isolate the problem and fix it once and for all. I would throw all kinds of money at it if I knew it would fix the problem. Nothing more irritating then wanting to go for a nice ride and kicking your leg off in the garage and ending up going no where. I will have to try running the fuel out and see if it makes a difference. Thanks for the input! - Josh

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about why my Banshee will start on 1 or 2 kicks if I start it every day, but if I leave it for a few days to a week I can kick and kick and it will not start. Then, if I leave it and come back later in the day or even the next day, it will start right up. It seems like fuel, but I can't pin point what exactly is going on. Just another one of those Banshee headaches. Thanks, - Josh

It should have like what, 130 lbs or so when it is fresh?

I was just wondering if there was any kind of rule of thumb compression wise, for when you should rebuild your motor or if you just have to go by when it won't start by kicking it anymore and you have to resort to pop starting it. I know my compression is not up to par, but it is still above 100lbs. Thanks for the input, - Josh

I was wondering if anyone knows if the needle clip position has to be adjusted if you use Boysen Power Reeds. I had a set in my Banshee when I bought it and I just replaced the reeds, but it seems to be running a little sluggish. Right now I have the needle on the middle clip. Thanks, - Josh

I put new plugs in, and both look the same, neither one looks too be burning differently. I pulled out the reeds and they don't look like they are closing as tightly as they should be. I am going to change them and see if that helps.

I had a question about my 88 Banshee. I had the top end rebuilt last year and the compression is still good, but one cylinder seems to be acting up. I can put my finger over the right pipe and it only builds pressure, but when I cover the left pipe it wants to stall the motor. The left side is pushing more smoke and the right side seems to be backfiring. I am wondering if the reed valves could have anything to do with this as they are about the only thing I haven't touched ever. Let me know if anyone has any input. Thanks, - Josh

Hey, Just for future reference for anyone else who has the older style bearing carrier, you can switch just the carrier without the whole swingarm. I got one from a '99 and it bolted right onto my '88 and the axle fits as well. I welded a new washer on one side just to add some strength, but just swapping the new one in tightened everything right up. Thought I would let you guys know in case anyone else was interested. - Josh

Did your old axle slide right into the newer carrier or did you have switch anything? Thanks.

Hello, I have an 88 Banshee and I would like to change the axle housing/bearing carrier on the rear swing arm, as mine is the older style using 4 short bolts instead of 2 long ones. Because of age and whatnot, it is all sloppy and I am having trouble keeping the chain tight. What I am wondering is if anyone knows whether I can just swap the axle housing from a newer machine in for mine. Has anyone ever done this or know for sure if it will all match up.
