  1. I think she can sing. She's not attractive, definately not compared to her sister. Her problem is she is still a kid and was stupid after her screw up on Saturday Night Live. She blamed her band?? What the hell? What she should have done was say "Ok, that didn't work so well" and done some accapella something or other to prvove she could sing, maybe have the drummer play a little filler, a base line and some quiet guitar and just sing something, anything, but walking off stage and then blaming the band, she is screwed, she will never live that down.
  2. The EX is just out classed anymore. Honda has neglected her almost as bad as Yamaha has neglected the mighty 'Shee over the years.
  3. I had mine done a year ago to .030 and he equated it to being the same as running 19cc Domes. I ride with guys who are running cool heads and Mod Quad Heads with 19 Degree Domes and the bikes feel the same to me. RJV
  4. Hey, guys. I have done a search and gotten a lot of good info with varying answers scattered about. Here is the situation. I am looking toward the next step in modifying my bike but am trying to avoid having to go to race gas if I can. This is what I have and what I am looking at: 04 Banshee, FMF Fatty w/ Turbine Core II Silencers, 19cc Head, K&N/Pro Design. I run at sea level with temps ranging from 60 - 75. I run Super Pump gas now and the bike runs absolutely flawless. Clean and strong. I am looking at lightening the fly wheel and advancing the timing 4 degrees. I am looking for input from guys/girls with similar riding conditions and modifications as to whether or not they have to run Race Gas. If it looks like I have to bump up to race gas I may pass for now that is why I want to know. Thanks for your help and opinions in advance. RJV
  5. I am in the same boat, this is kind of a re-post for me I started it in rides of shame after getting slammed by a YFZ450. If I lighten the flywheel and advance the timing, will I need to bump up to race gas with the mods that I have now? (see sig). Thanks guys. RJV
  6. Port Job, does it hurt reliability? Reeds, Boysen? and how much of difference do they make? I have heard about the flywheel, but what exactly will it do? Thanks for the ideas guys. RJV
  7. In this corner defending champ Banshee weighing in with FMF FATTY PIPES 19CC DOMES K&N HAULERS= 8 The challenger, YFZ450 weighing in with WHITE BROS. E2 PIPE K&N/PRODESIGN CAM MOD= YZ450F EXTREME HAULERS= 9 I was cleanly and cleary beat 5 out of 6 times. My win was good with everything going my way, he left it in 3rd while I grabbed 4th. The course is a hill climb in florence, I am guessing 80-100yds. long. The YFZ in that configuration beat me off the line and then pulled strong all the way to the top. If I had a little more run, I may have been able to reel him in but I am not sure. My bike runs great but now that I have been beat I would like to do something else. I don't have a ton of money right now, maybe a couple hundred. Any suggestions as to what I should do next to get a couple more horses? RJV
  8. Pot does not hurt or cause any problems.....then why are five pages and still going strong because one kid can't quit smoking pot long enough to get a job? And quitting 4 days ago is not quitting. I am not trying to be an ass and I know arguing that pot is bad and is dangerous and causes more problems than good is an absolute waste of time, but to say it is harmless is a poor statement. Laws are put in place to protect people. Now I am not talking about the person who smokes a little weed in his basement and then goes to bed, wakes up goes to work and functions without hurting him/herself. That person does not need protection right? What about the wife though that depends on her husbands paycheck. Does it hurt her if for some reason one day an employer implements drug testing and her husband looses his job? What about the kid that is a little stoned and leaves a party late and goes head on with the mother of two? ( I know alcohol is the same). What about the A student that drops her GPA because it is just easier to smoke a little weed? What about the young man/young woman who has worked hard to avoid drugs, works hard, gets good training, perfects his/her skills applies for a job and gets runnerup to a person who cheated a test to hide their addiction? Is that fair? My point, though not made very well, is there are far more reaching effects of drug ABUSE than just the immediate " I need to be clean to get a good paying job". If you had not been smoking pot or never started you would probably apply for the job and if you were qualified get it and be moving on. But now just cause you smoked little weed, you may miss out on a great opportunity. People would do anything for a job that pays 19 bucks an hour. Personally, not that you couldn't tell by this post, I feel Pot is dangerous. It is illegal and there are reasons for that. I don't agree with the medical argument, especially when I see a prescription for a guy who has asthma and is smoking marijuana to help his asthma. I must be missing something there. Anyway to each there own, I am not passing judgement on anyone and not saying anyone is a bad person 'cause they smoke pot. Just accept the consequences when they come instead of trying to beat/cheat the system by using some potion. RJV
  9. Well....uh.....ok I guess
  10. I like 8s. I do not have the horse power you have but with my bike it seems like I can get the wheels spinning a little quicker and grab a higher gear sooner. My buddy has his bike set up exactly like mine running 9's and I always seem to have an edge in a race. Also it seems like I come out of tree shots / holes a lot quicker. I have not found a hill he can climb that I can't. I was running 10's before dropping to the eights and I noticed a huge difference. Anyway with the HP your bike has coralled you may get to much spin and not get the benifit of the power. good luck and happy shopping. RJV
  11. PT's are sweet looking and a great pipe, I just feel the FMF are a more universal pipe.
  12. I have to agree, I was one of those guys wearing the t-shirt that said "those can race race, those who can't do freestyle". After seeing it live I have a whole new respect for those guys. If you have the chance, go check it out. RJV
  13. We cant just be simple can we LED
  14. I don't but a buddy of mine who I ride with all the time has the +4" modquad arm. It looks phenomenal. He has been riding it for a year and it still looks great. As soon as I get some cash ahead I am going to get a +2" from him. I have several other billet parts from modquad and they are all great quality and great fit. Also, Mike stands behind his stuff. I would reccomend him to anyone. RJV
  15. Why Not.
  16. MSR, HJC, BELL, ONEAL, all these companies make a variety of great helmets for almost any price range. I would not buy a helmet through a magazine though until you have gone to a shop and tried it on first. I had/have a MSR System Six and just bought a Bell, same size, totally different fit. Good Luck and happy shopping!!!
  17. I need a fix again, man now that I have been out I just want to throw even more sand. Was looking at Saturday or Sunday but the extendo-cast says it might snow on the valley floor! So maybe i'll throw a fresh coat of wax on the board and hit the mountain for a couple hours or so. Any body here board or ski? RJV
  18. Going to revive this thread instead of starting a new one, Man only in the Willemette Valley can this happen!!! The weekend before Christmas my family and I headed to sunriver and my brother brought a couple late 80's snow mobiles he picked up. We headed out to Bachelor to try them out. What a kick in the ass!!! We came home on tuesday and on thursday the wife and I loaded up the quads and headed to Florence. I swear guys on a scale of 1-10 it was a 9. If the sand had been wind blown it would have been a 10. About 60, 10mph wind blue sky and sunshine. Hardly anyone around and on the south east corner the sand was relatively smooth. As the day went on the dunes got better. It was awesome. The bike ran flawlessly (except for a little spat with some bad gas). I ran almost every inch of the dunes with the wife pushing the pace! (I love it when she is on)! Dropped into some tree shots, hit comp a couple times, ran the sound barrier. The only thing that would have made it better is if we had stayed for a couple days. All I can say, any of you guys here in Oregon or WA watch the weather and get out and ride this winter, it is good for the soul. RJV
  19. Merry Christmas everyone, hope you all get something cool. Take a minute to look around during the day and thank God for all he has given us, including his son Jesus. God Bless- RJV
  20. Running is by far the best and fastest way to loose weight and build cardio strength and leg endurance. Next to that would be cycling, either road or mountain biking. You need to go for at least 40 minutes at either to really see results. That does not mean full spead, pick a pace and stick with it. It is going to hurt the first couple weeks no matter what you do. Get the cardio stuff first, then hit the weights. (loose weight, then gain muscle weight). RJV PS- Ride Time is incredibly valuable too. Always ride with purpose though. Hammer whoops, when you get to tired for that, work on jumps, when to tired for that focus on your cornering, when to tired for that just simply slow down and work on your form, leaning, positioning, rhythem, when to tired for that, get off the bike before you wreck. The ultimate question is "how bad do you want it"?
  21. Now that the babes have been tamed I thought we could all blow the cobwebs off some good ridin stories and get a new thread goin. This time of year is hard for those of us who want to ride so the next best thing is to knock back a beverage and tell stories. Last summer was a good season for me. The wife improved by leaps and bounds and from time to time was pushing the pace on me a little, which just made me smile. But of course, newbies, even when they are doing well still have a bit of a learning curve so let me set the stage. riding in Florence working on some gnarly tree shots along the lagoon/lake depending on who you ask. She had beend doing well and got stuck on one of those hills with about 4 swith backs. Now when she gets stuck (she is 125 riding a Raptor) I get her unstuck. she must have burried out 10 times before she finally said she was done, (Thank God cause I was to the point I couldn't pull that pig out anymore). She marched to the top of the hill from the half way point and I was going to show everyone how it was done. Now, she had torn the hell out of the hill. about 3 clear spots where she had just turned the sand into a rutted powder mess. My first run was not so good so I get back to the base, determined not to be beat by this hill. I picked my line, got a good 2nd gear start and just let that thumper, well thump. I could feel the front getting light but I was so close I just kept the throttle on (see where this is going don't ya). Well being the arrogant Motorcycle MX rider I think I am I just thought I would give her a little break tap to bring the front down. Up she came, tap the break, stahl the motor, my wife and ten of our closest friends clearly hear my last words before the bike said "FU, I am goin' to ride your ass back down this hill and see how you like it". In that silent moment with everyone watching in slow motion, my words were the classic , "Oh Shit" followed by ugh, ouch damn and "STOP THE BIKE". Lucky for me the bike did not hit the water and we both walked away a relatively unhurt. It made for great campfire talk that night though. I can't wait for summer, or even just a break in the weather. Ride on Guys!! RJV PS: I did ride out on that hill the next run up to try and redeem myself. But the damage was done
  22. You can listen to the interview at www.supercross.com. It does not sound as arrogant on the audio but I still want him to get his ass handed to him. RJV
  23. Ouch. What else can you say.
  24. I just read an article/interview with Stewart on the Racer X website. He sure is confident. Actually he is a little bit arrogant and in my opinion a little overconfident. Reading between the lines, he thinks he is going to go out and smoke everyone in his first race. It might happen that way but until you actually do it, keep you mouth shut and respect the guys that have been on top riding the 250 class. What pisses me off about Stewart is that while Reed, and Whindam and Laraco were racing last season, Bubba was sandbagging another 125 title. He had no business riding the 125 east and everyone knew it. He keeps talking about how fast he was in practice and his practice laps were as fast as Reeds and Carmichaels and Whindams (outdoor). Got news for you kid, practice and race day/time are two different worlds. He may not know it because he had no competition in the 125 class but any of us here who have raced know when the gate drops and the race is on, it doesn't matter if you are riding an ATC 110, you'll be damned if someone is just going to breeze by you. I hope he gets spanked in the first couple races. He needs his head shrunk a little before it explodes. Sorry 'bout the rant but I hate people who don't respect their competitors and James seems to have that attitude. RJV
  25. so do you think travis should stick to freestyle? 290554[/snapback] I know the question wasn't to me but I gotta answer. I would rather see TP focus on racing 100% for a whole season. The guy is incredibly fast and puts on a great show. Give it your all, commit for a season and if you gave 100% walk away from racing back to freestyle regardless of the outcome. RJV
