  1. Is anyone getting excited for the spring/summer riding season yet!!!!!!!! I have got the first real trip of my season coming this weekend. Going to Florence. Spent all day yesterday going through the bikes. Started up the 'shee in three kicks after sitting for nearly one month. I love that bike. Got her lubed and ready to fly. Got the wifes Raptor ready to go as well. Picking up a 4 bike trailer today to help haul the friends over. The weather looks like it is going to be awsome this weekend. I can not wait to open the bike up and throw a roost. SAND BEWARE, I AM COMING FOR YOU!!! Should be a great weekend, 4 friends, two family members, and a couple dogs. What more could I ask for???? Got some plans for the bike in the near future to help her step it up against all these new 4-strokes (not that she doesn't hold her own now). I am looking foward to a great season this year. Do ya all feel me? RJV
  2. Break time, back to the Point, SALVATION Again, matters of religion are not matters of salvation. Salvation comes through Jesus Christ and Jesus Christ Alone. Josh McDowell wrote a book called more than a carpenter. One of the chapters is titles "Isn't there some other way"? A very common question. He broke it down like this. ( I am going to liberally plagerize his work here) We as humans know God by his attributes, love, holiness, justice and righteousness. What we as humans typically do is add them up to say they equal God. Wrong, God is all of these things, completely. "when we say God is love, we do not mean that a part of God is love, but that love is something that is true of God When God loves he is simply being himself". So God creates man and woman to share in his love and glory. The problem occured when Adam and Eve sinned. When that happened they and all of us were sparated from the God of love. Because God is love, he wanted to save his creation but by his very nature of being also holy, righteous and just, he could not be in the presence of his creation because his very nature would destroy it. Hence "the wages of sin is death". So one might say in human terms, "God had a problem". But then we remember God is God. Within the "God Head" or "Trinity" if you will God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit a plan of salvation was put into action. Jesus, God the Son, would take human form and become the God-man. (John Chapter One,14 Phillipians 2) Jesus was 100% man, and 100% God. He lived a sinless life by choice. Since he was sinless "the wages of sin is death". was nothing to him. Because he was not only "finate man but infinate God" he was able to take upon himself the sins of the enitre world. When Jesus died on the cross Gods wrath was poured out on his own son. When Jesus said "It is finished" the righteous nature of God was satisfied. (Romans 3:24-25) Another question that comes up when people contemplate accepting Christ as the only way to Salvation is, why can't God just forgive? Why did Christ have to die and why do I have to do anything? Look at it this way. You have a son or daughter. They are playing in the driveway next to your Banshee. On your banshee are these shiny billet valve stem covers. Your little one grabs the safety scisors and cuts each valve stem like a flower so they can have the shiny pieces. You may be a little hot but you will forgive your child. What is the cost of that forgiveness? 4 new valve stems. Who paid for that, you do. Whenever there is forgiveness, someon has to pay in some way. Jesus paid for our sins on the cross and now we can be forgiven through him. So again the simple thing we need to do is pray to God, acknowledge we are sinners, acknowledge there is nothing we can do to save ourselves, acknowledge who Christ is, that he died for us and rose from the grave, accept that he paid the price for our sins, accept him as your personal savior. Then let the Holy Spirit work in you.... RJV
  3. We have covered this before, if you are saved, you are saved. Nothing you or any other person does can take you out of the Fathers Hands. There is plenty in the Bible to support this. RJV
  4. Holy Quote : When people who have never had a chance to know God finally die, they don't know who Jesus is, how could they call out to him for salvation? Reason for our Guilt: Romans1:18-23 for the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness because that which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the word His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood though what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks but they became futile in there speculations, and their follish heart was darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four footed animals and crawling creatures. This was written to the gentiles/non-Jews in Rome. It is an explanation to them of how they could be held responsible to what was at the time considered to be the God of Israel. The point, men know God. They look at creation and the world and they know God. This is pointed out again later in Romans 2:14-16 for when Gentiles who do not have the Law, do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law are a law to themeselves. 15 in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, teir conscience bearing witness, and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them, on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Chris Jesus. So what happens is man, instead of recognizing God and seeking him out, they Romans 1:22-23 Professing to be wise, they become fools and exchange the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four footed animals and crawling creatures. So with that we end up with evolution or Agnostic beliefs or any number of other beliefs. We think we are more wise than God and make our own rules about how life should go and how death and life after is going to work. To answer your statement, we are all without excuse according to Romans 1:20. Now as to Act 24:15 having a hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, th there shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked This verse does nothing to support your theory that the wicked get a second chance after they die. In Chapter 24 Paul has been accused by the Jewish population and is standing trial before gov. Felix of Rome. Paul is showing he is no different than his accussors other than he is a follower of Christ. Revalation Chapter 20 Vs 1-3 Satan is bound for a thousand years after Christ has returned. Vs. 4-6 Saints reign for 1000 years with Christ. Vs 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed... Vs 7-10 Satan is released and then ultimately vs 10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the ladke of fire and brimsone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Vs 11-15 Great White Throne of Judgement, all who have not accepted Christ, are judged by their works....and all will find that their works were not enough. Vs 15 And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire....described in vs 10. So where do you see someone being given a second chance after they die? You refrence Matthew 25:31-46 again describing judgement of the Gentile Nations, starting in vs 41 Jesus himself speaks directly to those who do not accept him as savior telling them to "depart from me accuresed ones into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels. Look at Matthew 7:21-23. Again where do you see someone being given a second chance after they die? Also your quotes make a pretty strong case for the Hell you say does not exist. As to Satan, Isaiah 14:12-14 gives insight to his persona, he wanted to be God, ascend higher than God.....put himself over God.
  5. As an mx rider and avid Banshee rider, I shake my head everytime I see someone without a helmet. At the track I have never seen anyone out that did not have a helmet on. And why would you ever try any jump, let alone a MX double with a passenger? I hope the guy is ok but that was just stupid. RJV
  6. Holy, the things you have said above.....I need you to provide a Biblical backing for those statements. I do not claim to know my way around the Bible like you seem to, but I do not know where you have gotten this information. I searched in Romans, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Isaiah, Phillipians, I and II Corinthians and Revlation. And what does "those who truly don't know the difference" mean and when "will they be given a chance"? What about Faith? What about your Soul, is it simply wiped out as if you have never lived or existed? That is exactly what Satan wants this world to believe, live hard, party hard cause when you die you die and that is it. I am surprised to hear you say this. The debate over the "Trinity" which I acknowledge is not a term in the Bible but simply a man made term used to describe the essence of God being manifested in three parts, God the Father, Jesus the Son, and The Holy Spirit, is the least of my concerns. As to Hell, Spritual Death is the state of being separated from God. (Ezek. 18:4) This can only be avoided by accepting Christ as Savior and Lord. Thos who do not will eventually suffer the second death. The second death is the future, eternal destiny of Satan and all his followers, including those who reject Christ. (REV 20:6) Revelation 20 is the closest thing that I can find that is even remotely close to what you are claiming, and it is not close. Holy I will continue to search and I will pray for guideance from the Holy Spirit and look at this post later. RJV
  7. That my dear is the greates thing. The things you have done in your past are just that. Everyone has regrets, some of those regrets are heavier than others. The Bible says homsexuality is wrong. No way around that. But the fact that you expeirimented and (i assume) enjoyed your relationships before have nothing to do with a choice you could make to follow Christ now. Time for me to put my money where my mouth is and get real. I understand you do not believe that your relationships with women were "evil". Let me put it this way, my wife and I did not wait to have sex before we got married. Was that anymore evil than you having a relationship with a woman? No. Sin is sin and I fell flat on my face in that. I was young and rebelious and I ultimately ignored what I knew was right. My problem, I was a Christian as was she and we gave in. It was my fault I failed to be a Christian leader. Do I regret it, yes. Did I at the time, no. Were there consequences for us, yes. My wife and I were so blinded by the physical relationship that we overlooked huge differences in our personalities and that caused a solid 3 years of hell. After Christian Counselling and dealing with our past both with eachother and issues we brought with us from growing up, we have had the most wonderful 4 years of our lives together. God brought us through that. God has forgiven us both and blessed our marriage and our lives. You may not feel any regret for those actions, that is between you and God and I am not here to say you should or you should not. I hope only the best for you, and I hope that you listen to that tugging on your heart as Jesus calls to you...because he is.... I am telling you, grab a Bible and check out the Gospel of John, then if you make it through that look at Luke. It will put this whole thing in perspective. RJV
  8. this is nothing new from what i said before. This guy has busted his ass for years. His money was made from overtime which took away from his personal life. He may have only taken two calls but it sounds as if there were more calls then that. When an accident happens and multiple people see it and they all call, the dispatchers must deal witht he calls as quickly as possible to clear the lines for future calls. As I said before, he needs to be reprimanded, maybe even demoted but to loose his career over 30 seconds of poor statements is wrong. RJV
  9. Milo and Treads are right on in their postings. They have both brought up good points, points to think about. Brooke, your attitude and fiery demeanor are what make you special. You have had some tough times. I have two brothers. I can not imagine what it would be like to watch one of them die. Hear me out here for a little while (this is for everyone, I am not singling you out ) First, if you have access to a Bible, any Bible, I use the New American Standard, get it and Read the Gospel of John. 21(short compared to an average novel) chapters. It will explain things in ways that no matter how hard I try, I can not. As stupid as this sounds, as you read it remember the basics of literature, ie; if you read a verse and it does not make sense or seems to be a contradiction, back up ten versus and make sure you are reading it in the context it is meant to be in. So many people get hung up on single versus. You would not grab a novel and read two paragraphs out of the middle of the book and claim to understand the entire book would you? People have a thousand reasons for not wanting to choose Jesus Christ. A group of people that probabally have the hardest time are "the good people". People who go against the grain and fight to go above and beyond what society requires. Those who give time, who help others, who go the extra mile in every aspect of life. The thought that they could do all these great things and that God will still look at them when they die and say "I never knew you" makes no sense. It makes many of them angry. So what is it exactly that keeps them from accepting that even though they are good people, they are still sinners, just like everybody else? It is our own human nature, PRIDE. We as humans want to lift ourselves up, accomplish things on our own. Look at every culture, especiall ours in the US. Everything is measured by what we accomplish on our own, from the time we hit grade school through college and into the work force. The message is you can do it and you have to do it on your own. Earn it yourself. The Bible says the one thing we can not earn on our own is a gift. It is given freely and can not be worked for. All you have to do is accept it. God has put the gift in front of everyone of us. We have until we die to pick that gift up off of the ground. When you pick the gift up, which is Christ, your name is written in the Book of Life. When you die and stand before God and he asks why should I let you into my Heaven, and you see all of your failures and sins and mistakes and hurtful things and realize that even with all the good you have done, you still have fallen short, Jesus will say, "This one is mine" because you accepted what he has done for you. Another problem people have is this; "If I accept the Bible is true, and now knowing it is true, I accept Christ as My Saviour, now I am accountable for my actions. Now the Holy Spirit is going to convict me when I do things I know are wrong......" Many people make the mistake of believing if they accept Christ that all the fun in life is gone. That is so untrue, I can not explain it to you. All I can say is that Salvation through Christ and the life thereafter is phenomenal. You begin to live life as it was meant to be lived, fullfilling the plan God has for you. It is amazing. Lets get personal for a second or two; Brooke, you specifically with your personallity and strong will could do amazing things for God. Your life experiances that you have gone through at such a young age could be used in an amazing way and your life could be an amazing journey. Locogato, if you are still reading this, same for you man. Your sense of humor and the countless times you have helped people out on this thread alone....I do not know you (or Brooke) personally, but I can tell you God could use you and fulfill your life in ways you never imagined. This goes for every person reading this thread. God has a plan for everyone of us. All you gots to do is say, here I am. I know I am rambling a little here and you are all thinking, who is this guy and what could he possibly know about me. I am nobody, some almost 30 year old guy who still has dillusions of being a pro Moto-Cross Racer, that is who I am....but God, well he is God and I know Him and I know he will take anyone who calls on Him Finally, for this post anyway, Santan does not want any of this to sink in. He does not want any of you to pick up a Bible and read the Gospel of John. He does not even want you looking at this thread. He would much rather you all get angry at this "narrow path" that is continuously being set before you and click off this thread and never return. He wants you to believe the Bible is a "good" book but not the truth. He wants you to believe that you are good enough to get to heaven on your own. One of his greates successes is to simply neutralize people, making them believe there are many ways to Heaven and that "God would never really turn away a good person". Look at it this way, God does not turn away good people, good people turn away God. Just food for thought...... RJV
  10. TRINITY: Genesis 1:1-3 In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth. And the Earth was formless and void and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Genesis 1:26 Then God said "Let Us make main in Our image" according to Our likeness; Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. Colossians 2:9-10 For in Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form.... These are some of the passages that lead me to believe God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one and the same. It makes no sense to me. I am human and can not wrap my mind around it. I can not even try to explain it. I guess if God is a jealous God, we would not be "babtizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" if they were not one and the same. I will touch on hell at a later time. RJV
  11. Absolutely. It may have but if no one has documented it along the way that it has been a problem, we can not assume it is. In todays society if he had been an ass in the past, I think it would have come out. Other people he had contacted in the past would have come forward saying "yeah and when I dealt with he did x" whatever x is. To my knowledge no one has come forward. Also, Police Agencys are so afraid of getting sued anymore, they document every single complaint. (most agencies, not all but most). In an investigation like this it would have gotten to the media if there were other internal complaints or documents. Like I said, he screwed up and needs to be held accountable. I just don't think everyone should string him up quite yet. Just my opinion.... RJV
  12. I google searched the tv channel and found the original story. RJV
  13. I am not saying he should not be reprimanded/suspended/demoted/never allowed to run dispatch again or whatever, he was definately in the wrong the way he handled the call. I am just asking should he loose his entire career over one incident? RJV
  14. In that particular statement, I was simply trying to show a difference between a religious person and Christian. As to the Trinity and Hell, that is going to take a little time and the wife wants me to make dinner tonight so I will get back to you on that. Take care Holy. RJV
  15. You are 100% right and actually, I think as hot as a topic this could have or could still become, everyone has done a good job of not completely destroying anyone. All points of disagreement have been discussed, listened to, responded to with someting to back them etc. I have been on "religious" sites where a thread like this would have been terminated within the first couple hours of its existance because of disrespectful responses. Everyone who has looked at the thread and responded even if they don't think the topic is relavant have been great. As two point number 2, you are unfortunately right on the money. Their are those out there who use "religion" to manipulate people, to justify their own problems and or to get money. I try very hard to not confuse true Christianity with the "religion" we in America are surrounded by every day. That is one (of many) reason I think this thread has gone on. No one here is gaining anything from this except a look at their own beliefs and why they believe them. I will not change Holy's view. I know that. His views have challenged me to look at my own beliefs and helped to reafirm where I stand. If Holy changes his view it will be because God moved him not me. The same goes for Brooke, or Locogato or Banshee LE or Milo or anyother person who has glanced through or read this thread. All it is going to do is challenge them personally to look at their own beliefs. If they find Truth in here, then again, it is becaue God moved not because of any one posting by any one of us. I am not passing any judgement on any person here. I simply want everyone to know what I know. What they do with that is completely up to them. If they choose to read through this and say it is not for me, that is completely their choice and I have no ill feelings towards them. If someone wants to post saying I am a blind sheep idiot, and attack me personally ok, well I am human and it might fire me up a bit, but they are allowed to think that. If someone reads this grabs a Bible, talks to a Christian friend they know, gets a hold of pastor and finds the freedom and forgiveness I have been talking about over and over again throughout this thread, then praise God for that and good for them. I guess it is also possible someone could get angry by this thread and just lash out at all of us, but it has not happened and I am glad. Thanks for posting dude, Ride On RJV
  16. Response time was not delayed. That means the trooper immediately notified the appropriate medic unit, dispatching them to the scene of the crash. He did his job. His words were harsh and poorly chosen. However, the article shows a picture of the deceased not wearing a helmet, looking at a camera, not the road, maybe he was playing a game. The trooper, I can only assume because I have not heard the tape, was short and abrupt. Even jaded a little. He has had 18 years of experiance and has more likely than not seen hundreds of fatal crashes involving motorcycles and cars. He has probally seen dead kids, mothers, fathers and grandparents. According to the article until this point he has had an "unblemished" career. The fact that people want him fired because they did not like what he said is wrong. Everyone one of us has had a bad day, a day where we said something we should not have said. Look in the mirror and then give this guy a break. RJV
  17. suspension, hands down. I have learned to ride the banshee with the frame it has now, if I could only get it to take up some of the hits better, I would be in heaven. RJV
  18. Location is huge. However, if you do not need to sell it right away, I would just clean it up and hold onto it for a couple years. When Yamaha finally drops the axe on the Banshee, you will see the used price stabilize and probabally go up a little. RJV
  19. First, the people and nations God destroyed were not destroyed until they were given the opportunity to change there ways. Over and over again in the Old Testament God sent people to Kings and rulers giving them the opportunity to turn to the one and true God. When they stiffened there lip and rjected Him, they were destroyed. They were Destroyed because they rejected the salvation God was trying to provide. Noah built the arc, the entire time he told people the day of judgement was coming. All those people had to do was believe and they would have been saved but they refused the salvation God provided. Second, a person who has lived an entire life, maybe even a "good" life, maybe they never drank or maybe they did. Maybe they even attended church every Sunday or maybe they never went to church, maybe they were faithful to their spouse or maybe they cheated a hundred times who is on a hospital death bed comes to the conclusion they never accepted Christ as their saviour. What you are saying is it is to late for both of them. That my friend is wrong. Holy, you continuously try to put God in a box saying his hand of salvation will only reach so far. You indicate that if we as humans don't hold up our end of the bargain we won't get to heaven. This is a humanistic arrogant view. It is prideful to think we as sinners have any ability at all to live up to the standard of God. Salvation comes through Christ alone. RJV
  20. I thought this thread had come to an end. Milo is right though with all the different "interpretations" that people have in relation to the bible it truly could go no forever. My recommendation If you have questions about the passages that have been quoted here, look at them yourself. All I have done throughout is take the same passages others have quoted, prayed of guidance, and expanded them using the versus above and below to put them in context. No one has challenged those thoughts using the word of God. Sure, Holy has responded saying I am wrong usually quoting a different book or chapter or verse but I do the same thing, pray, read, pray and come to a conclusion. Holy, this is an interesting statement. Lets talk about the Trinity a little, Father, son Holy Spirit. What is your view on this? Are they three indpendent beings? Are they one and the same? Holy earlier you said your religous background has nothing to do with this conversation. I believe it does. Your affiliation can help explain some of the reasons why you believe certain things. As I said before, my roots are from a First Babtist Church and I now am non-denominational. I am a Christian, thankful for my salvation through Christ. Also, do you feel free? Do you feel grace? Or do you constantly live in fear that you may have done something that could cost you your salvation? Everyone else who has taken the time to follow and read this thread, I hope if nothing else it makes you want to pick up a Bible and search out some of these answers yourself. There is only one correct interpretation of the Bible and that is God's interpretation. The most important point the Bible makes is that Salvation is available to all who ask. Try to keep Christianity and religion seperate. Religion is a man made set of rules, a way for humans to try and work their way to heaven. Chrisianity is a belief in Christ, that his sacrifice was sufficient for all human kind once and for all. I sense a little hostility between Brooke and Holy and I think it stems from a previous post that I vaugly remember. Brooke, as I said before, I love having you around and greatly appreciate your posts. We don't always agree but it is great to have you chime in. I hope this thread at least makes you curious as to who Jesus truly is and what his life meant (if you don't already know) As I have tried to stay true to this entire post....Salvation is simple. Accept you are a sinner, accept Christ died for you, accept he rose from the grave defeating sin, accept he is the only way and ask him for forgiveness. John 3:16 has been used over and over again but take it a little further and read John 3:1-21 to better understand what John 3:16 is saying. What happens after that moment when you accept Christ is up to you. What you do with your life is up to you. If you are sincere in your acceptance of Christ there will be a change inside of you. Hopefully someone will come along side of you and bring you along, guiding you, helping you, struggling with you picking you up when you fall, reminding you that God is with you and though you have fallen, you are still his. This is not always the case unfourtanatley. Sometimes a person is saved and they get thrown to the wolves. No one around to help them, or guide them and they go through life struggling and lost, knowing inside they should be somewhere else but not knowing how to get there. You warriors that have been left behind in this life, lost and struggling, unhappy inside because you know you should be somewhere else, rest easy, God has saved you through Christ and someday Jesus will say... he/she is mine. untill then, hopefully another brother/sister/soldier in Christ will come along side you, find you struggling and pick you up and help you along. RJV
  21. Most Police/Sheriff's agencies never see any of that money..... RJV
  22. Saw it last night, excellent movie, even the wife who was dragging her feat a little bit reall enjoyed it. Great camera work, great racing footage....if you get a chance watch it. I am going to buy it as soon as it hits dvd land. RJV
  23. Dust To Glory This is the official web page. There is a theater listing in the lower left of the main page. Check out the trailer (as if you would not) it will make you want to watch this movie!! RJV
  24. I have been waiting to see this movie since I first stumbled onto it on the web 3 months ago. The wife and I are going to try and catch it tonight up here in Portland. Thanks for the review. RJV
  25. Excellent Point 04LE. And before I went to public school and "got educated" about Christmas and Easter, that is all I knew about Chritmas because that is what my parents taught me. They used this story to explain to me the importance of "Christ"mas. My brothers and I all grew learning about who Jesus is and what he did for Me/Us. Now, before someone else does this, I am going to point out a couple things. The book of Matthew is not near as detailed about this and actually says in Matthew 2:11 And they came into the house and saw the Child with Mary His mother; and they fell down and worshiped Him Some are going to say this is a contradiction, one says manger, one says house. Why is that? You must understand who the books were written to and who wrote them. The book of Matthew was written to a Jewish audience to show that Jesus was the promised Messiah of the Old Testament prophecy. In the book of Matthew there are more Old Testament Quotes than any of the other Gospels focusing on the fact he is the King of the Jews. The book of Luke was written by a Gentile to the Gentile population. It is also commonly believed Luke was a physician/doctor. In Colossians 4:14 Paul refers to Luke as a beloved physician. This is important because it gives us insight as to the type of person writing the book. Most would agree that a Doctor is most likely going to be very detail oriented and is going to provide more detail in a "report" than others. With that said, I believe the Bible is inspired by God and God could have used a blind mute with no hands to write the book of Luke if he chose to, however he did not. My point is that because Luke provides more details at to where Jesus actually was and Matthew simply says the people went to a house is not a contradition. RJV
