Fair Question. The Bible is 66 books written by over 40 different men, most of whom did not know eachother. The amazing thing about it is that the entire book, from Genesis to Revelation has one main topic. That topic is Jesus Christ. There are lots of subtopics but the main point is simple. The main story is how man can be reconciled through Jesus Christ. These men could not have written the books of the Bible and made it dove tail together so perfectly on their own. The answer to your question is that God himself wrote the Bible using us humans. I am in no way saying you can not be a good person and do the things you mentioned as to taking care of your family and doing the right thing while you are on Earth. I have lots of non-Christian friends that are good people, but my heart hurts for them because there is so much more to the this life than just trying to be a good person. RJV

What I was trying to say what Isreal did, choosing another god to worship is not the same as Christians worshiping the one and true God at Christmas and Easter. In vs. 1 of Ephesians 32 the people of Isreal said Aaron, "Come make us a god who will go before us". They were asking for a pagan replacement because they doubted God. When the golden calf was formed, the people of Israel said "This is your god, O Isreal, who brought you up from the land of Egypt". When Aaron saw what the people were doing he built an altar and told the people there was to be a feast to the Lord the next day (notice the capital L in Lord) The following celebration was directed solely to that idol with no thought of the God that delivered them from Egypt b the nation of Isreal. You and I are getting caught up in a "battle" of "religion". As I have said before, the most important issue at hand is a personal relationship with Jesus. A real relationship with a real person. Differences in opinion over a holiday season and how you deal with those times of year will not matter when we die and stand before God. What will matter is if a person has accepted what Jesus did for them on the cross. Did that person call out to Jesus and ask for forgiveness and accept it. What they do after that moment will be noted but will not get them into heaven or keep them out. Can we agree on that? No one is perfect. No one can be good enough to get into heaven but when we accept Jesus, our sin, past present and future is taken away, as far as the east is from the west. Praise God, 'cuz I fall and fail almost every day......but I am forgiven, Jesus death and ressuretion paid the price for my sins. Anyway, I enjoy the posts, it encourages me to get into the Bible and look at some things I have not thought about in a while. RJV

EXODUS 32 You are missing the point this time. Moses lead Israel out of captivity. One of the things the book of Exodus shows how weak we as humans really are. Isreal was saved over and over again yet they always found something to complain about. In fact Israel gets so bad that in Numbers 11:15 Moses tells God to just to "please kill me" because he has grown tired of caring for the people. Exodus 14:10 Israel complains to Moses that he lead them to be slaughtered at the Red Sea, God saves them. Then in Exodus 15-24 Israel complains again that they have no water and are going to die and and God told Moses to put a tree in the water which he did and it made the water sweet. (Just as Christ came to take away the bitterness and sins of man) Exodus 16:3 Israel complains to Moses that they are going to starve to death so God provides bread and quail (and they still get it wrong). Exodus 17:2 Israel complains of no water and Moses is told by God to strike the rock and water flowed. (Just as Christ was struck on the Cross and his blood flowed) Exodus 17:8 Israel is spared in battle by God. Exodus 19-23 Covers the Laws (Ten Commandments) Exodust24:12 Moses leaves the people of Israel and is on the Mountain with God for Fourty Days and fourty Nights. 24-31 tell us what took place on the Mountain with God during that time. Now, Chapter 32. Israel who has proven to be weak and lacking faith turn away from God again, saying in vs1 "Come make us a god who will go before us, as for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him". Aaron drops the ball and falls right in line making a golden calf. The calf had no conection to God at all. They did not make a golden calf and say, lets worship this so God will be pleased with us. In vs.7-10 God tells Moses the people have turned away after a short time and they are obstinate. He tells Moses he is going to destroy the Nation and start over through Moses. In vs11-14 Moses intercedes for Israel and turns away the wrath of God (As Jesus does today for us, he intercedes on our behalf even when we sin) In vs 21-25 Moses confronts Aaron for allwoing Israel to get out of control. Now, Vs 26 which is what you are refering to, Moses stood in gate of the camp and said, "Whoever is for the Lord, come to me!" (As Jesus does for us). And all the sons of Levi gathered together with him. 27 and he said to them, "Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, Every man of you put his sword upon his thigh and go back and forth from gate to gate in the camp and kill every man, his brother, and every man his neighbor. So the sons of Levi did as Moses instructed and about 3000 men of the people fell that day. The people were given a choice to accept God or perish. (Just like we have a choice to accept Christ or perish) Those who chose to ignore the call to God died in their sin. Vs 30-35 Moses intercedes again for us to God (As Jesus does for us today). It is not the same thing as it was back then. Israel continually doubted God so they created a different god and worshiped it, not the God of Israel. Christmas and Easter for the Christian are a time to worship and praise the God of Israel, not some pagan god or goddess. Genisis 3 is just one place where it explains why Jesus had to die and rise again for us. God talking to Santan in vs. 14-15 And the Lord God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this, Cursed are you more than all cattle. And more than every beast of the field; on your belly shall you go And dust shall you eat all the days of your life; and I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed (Santan) and her seed (Christ) and He shall bruise you on the head (Christs victory over death and sin on the cross) and you shall bruise him on the heel. (Christ paying the penalty for our sins, dieing on the cross. It is only a bruise because he rose again). RJV

Not offended at all and I respect your view. When it is all said and done what matters is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Matters of "religion" are important but secondary in importance to salvation. I got to get to work and if I don't leave now I wont make it to Starbuck . See ya.... RJV

That is so cute, it made me smile, I must be getting soft........

1Corinthians 8:6 Concerning the eating of things sacrificed to idols, we know that there is no such thing as an idol in the world, and that there is no God but one. For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we exist for HIm, and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through him...... Skip to vs. 8, But food will not commend us to God, we are neither the worse nor the better if we do eat. The rest of the chapter talks about causing someone else to stumble in their faith. For example, if by me celebrating Christmas or Easter it makes another Christian stumble and fall away or a non-believer turn away from God because they do not understand why I would partake in a pagan festival, then I should not do it. Personally, with the knowledge from above, I have no problems with Easter and or Christmas. It is a time to celebrate the forgiveness and peace I have been lucky enough to have found in Christ. No, that Christ found me. There is a difference between being under the Law (Old Testament) and Being Justified Through Christ and living under Grace (New Testament). RJV

Gixxer took care of the history of easter. As to James 2:19.... Starting in James 2:14 he is comparing Faith and Works, what you believe vs. what you do with that knowledge. 2:15-2:18 give examples of Faith statements without works, James 2:15-16, If a brother or sister is without clothing and in need of daily food and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled" and yet you do not give them what is necessary for their body, what use is that? James 2:17 Faith with no works is dead by itself. James 2:18 Someone may say, "you show me your faith without works and I will show you my faith by my works. Basically 2:15-18 are describing a person who talks about their faith but acts opposite. We all know people who talk big but when it is time to put up they choose to shut up. Now, James 2:19 You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe and shudder. James is saying even the demons believe in God. It is not enough to "just believe in God". It takes action. It takes a choice to accept the forgiveness that Christ provided on the cross. The rest of chapter two provides some examples of people in the Bible who put their faith to the test. Check out Hebrews 11 to get a better understanding of Faith and what it is. Have a good one man. RJV

God Creates Everything Adam and Eve Mess Up Generations try to be good enough and fail. Mary concieves as a virgin Jesus Christ is born He grows fullfilling all the prophecy about the coming saviour At 33 years old, his own people turn on him. He is murdered on a cross, an innocent and sinless man. The penalty for all the sins of humanity is paid in full 3 days later he rises from the grave Today we have hope. All we have to do is accept him. "For God so loved the world, he gave his Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life. God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through Him"...... A quote from Jesus as he explains who he is and the plan of salvation to Nicodemus in John chapter three. Just thought I would throw this out since it is Easter Weekend. Have a great day everyone, hopefully with good food and good company. RJV

You are missed, even when people don't always agree with you it is nice to see someone stand there ground and standu up for their point of view. I don't always agree with you or others on the site but that is what makes this place and life in general interesting. I was thinking the same thing the other day as to where you had gone, it is funny how even someone like me who has relatively low numbers as to posts notices when someone is missing. Brooke, you add a lot to the BHQ....please come back.... ......I'll buy you a beer (or whatever you please )...course you will have to come out to Oregon but it is the thought that counts right Later Chick, RJV

I just started the career mode and this game kicks ass, practic, two motos, scoring, gate picks, any racers out there are going to love this game. It kicks ass!!!! RJV

Yes, it is worth 40 bucks. It is entertaining with good graphics. The specialty vehicles are a little hard to drive at first but it is fun and keeps the game from getting boring fast. JMO, RJV.

There are a few organized Beach/Dune races out there though they are far and few between. If I was going to be racing in the sand dunes, I would take a Banshee hands down. As it is, with my Quad I am a play rider and I play in the sand dunes and in my opinion there is no better quad for someone who knows how to ride than a Banshee in the Dunes. If you were to primarily race in the desert a properly set up Banshee would shine there as well. And there will be people on this site that can tell you how to set up a Banshee for trail/xc/woods racing as well. If you want to ride a little of everything, mx, dunes, wood, ice etc I would look at a 4-stroke. Personally, the YFZ would be my choice but if you do more woods racing than the others, I would think long and hard about the Honda 450R. The bottom line is the Banshee can do any one type of racing well but transitioning from one to the next could be a little spendy and time consuming. RJV

Just got the game and played for a little while before company came over. I think it is really good. a lot of the same stuff but the hill climbs, supermoto and additional vehicles is a kick. The long tracks are nice too. Worth the 40.00 bucks for sure. Negatives are it does seem the quads are pretty close campared to ATV O/F 2 where there are significant differences in the machines as you unlock the higher end rides but it is too early for me to tell for sure.

The guys are trying to tell you this topic comes up a lot. Led is right though, only you can know what is going to work for you. If you like two-stroke power, are comfortable with it and realize the 'Shee has some limitations you will be fine. ATV Action Magazine just did a write up on the Shee and that article will answer some of your questions if not all of them. Good Luck. Personally for racing anything other than beach/dune, Sand Drags and or Sand Hill Climbs I would look at the new breed of Dumpers...I mean thumpers. RJV

I would have to go with the YFZ450. I am lucky enough to have friends who own everything from Honda 250X's to DS650 and I have been able to spend time on each of them. My only complaint about the YFZ450 is it feels a little cramped but you adjust quickly and the harder you ride, the less cramped it feels to me. For the sand dunes though, no matter what any magazine says, a slightly modified (pipes and tires) Banshee is still the King!!! I get tired of reading "you really have to be good with the clutch to keep a Banshee going". When I was growing up that was called "knowing how to ride" and if you could not work a clutch and shuffle the gears you simply did not know how to ride. It was never blamed on the bike. RJV

Just read an article in ATV Action about the Banshee. I have got to hand it to them. They told it like it is. The praised the Banshee for the stability and the power the motor is capable of making. They said it cornerd well and in the sand the suspension was adequate. They also said it was in need of some fine tuning in the ergonomic dept. I for one would have to agree and think a lot of the others on here would agree as well (not that it is uncomfortable, but at 6' my knees do start to ache after a couple days of riding ). They said the Banshee is no longer the King, a title it held in the early 90's simply because tech. has advanced and the Banshee has not. The closed the article stating that the Banshee is still one of the best sport ATVs ever made. I was pleased to see an honest and fair write up on the old girl. RJV

Freakin Diesel is 2.80 a gallon in Oregon! A by-product of regular fuel!!!! Premium is around 2.50 still where I live. If I had the up front money, I would buy 50 gallons of race gas last I checked you get a couple bucks off a gallon+ 20.00 deposit for the barrel. It is 5.00 bucks a gallon if you buy it a gallon at a time from the station though. RJV

ordering pro tapers.. What do i need
rjvoight replied to 05Special's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Pro Tape also makes a 7/8 bar. I use them on my MX bike and love them. They also do a universal clamp for the Fat Bars, it costs 40.00 bucks. Either way you are going to be happy. I would save the money and go the the 7/8 bar myslef, JMO. RJV -
I just saw a review on line about MXvsATV. they are using real quads from Honda, Yamaha and Suzuki. No Banshee though unless it is an unlockable quad. the graphics look great as well. I have played MX Unleashed and am very impressed with everything from the bike details to the way the characters move on the bikes to when they crash. The clutch feature also is a kick to use. MXvsATV should rock. RJV
