  3. Bump...... to the first page, the rest of this thred got a little nasty.....I trust everyone is doing well and has a great weekend. Keep the "twins" singing on the dunes, I notice more and more, a decline in the number of 'shees on the dunes, but we know! Stay Strong Everyone!
  4. SEAHAWKS
  5. yeah, just not as fast because we are not answering the same questions over and over again.
  6. Yep. Happy Thanksgiving everyone
  7. How many books are in the bible? How many authors wrote the bible? Where did those authors get the information? What is the Bible about? Who are the muslim people decendents of? My point is this, your University of You Tube Education has left out some very important points that will require you to do some research on your own. I am choosing to believe you are smarter than that and will look a little deeper into the subject. RJV
  8. Dogism: you feed me you love me you pet me you care for me you protect me You must be god Catism: you feed me you love me you pet me you care for me you protect me I must be god Funny, thought provoking if you allow it to be.
  9. A lot of these have been covered in previous posts by me way back in this thread. I will probabally cut and paste those if you don't want to dig for them. You do have a couple new ones though and that is cool, the new testament quotes. I am heading to the coast today with the girl and the wife so I will get back to this in a day or so. Any of you other guys that want to hit on these go right ahead. Have a good weekend- RJV
  10. HD, the only thing I will "defend" myself on is where you said there are parts of the Bible I ignore....I think I have answered all of your questions in regard to Bible passages........if not let me know and I will explain......I dont have all the answeres and I know that. Later RJV
  11. I am not aware of any other god that sacrificed themselves so that we humans could not only communicate with but spend eternity in the presence of God. I do not know of any other god that was crucified for a purpose, to pay for the sins of all humans, and then defeated death. There are hundreds if not thousands of "g"ods out there and there probabally is some similar story but I am not personally aware of it. Of course then there is personal life experiance that comes into play for many of us. The problem you run into is you will not accept the Bible as a valid source of information. At the same time, any scientific theory that would lend credibility to the Bible is rejected. Yet you seem to accept any scientific theory that would contradict the Bible. Why is one theory better than the other? Another issue is many people do not understand the Bible, not because they can't but because they won't. It is frustrating to me when someone latches onto a single passage and takes it out of context. You and I did a lot of Bible Context stuff early in this thread and I know it was making sense to you then, even though you did not agree with it. I could go on with little thoughts like that but I know it is not what you are looking for. I assure you I have no battle in regard to the existance of God, who Jesus was and what he did. I do battle with the same things every other person does as far as greed, lust, selfishness etc. I also deal with frustration, pain, sadness and the other day to day crap that floats around in this world. I believe you think it is a sign of weakness to trust that God is in control. But please understand that just because I believe God is in control that I just sit around doing nothing. I work, play, love etc. It is just that when hard times come I know that there is a bigger picture. A lot of times I learn something through the hard times. It forces me to grow and I am a better more rounded person when I come out on the other side. It is my opinion that sometimes the hard times are the only way God can get a hold of us and make us deal with whatever problem we have. Any way, long post and I most definately am rambling on. If you read this far know that I am not trying to jack you up. Maybe trying to get you to open your mind a bit to at least understand more completely what you are choosing to reject. Take it easy, ride safe. RJV That was funny stuff!
  12. HD, I had a theory about this thread that I posted back on 10-06-2006. I was just wondering if you ever read it or thought about what I said?
  13. Dude, there is a line man. Shock value has its place but that is BS.
  14. You are actually just moving in a circle.....like a rat in a cage...... a hampster on a wheel......it is actually almost sad. And dude, you don't answer questions. You are good at asking, not so good at listening and really struggle to answer. No big deal though. RJV
  15. I have another view on that.....you are doing an awesome job keeping people on this thread. But let us look at how God is using you. Basically you have taken every Christian on here and some who are not and made them research their own beliefs. You have caused them to openly identify with Christ. You have caused us all to grow in our faith. Especially earlier in the thread when you were misquoting the Bible and many of us picked up our Bibles and researched your claims and posted them here for you in an attempt to educate you. So it did nothing for you but it caused each one of us to grow as well as got the word out to others who are curious about my faith. This thread is not here by chance, God put you here and everyone of us who have been replying and following the thread. HD, you see even when you think you are making us look bad.....God is so much bigger you can't mess up his plan. You are part of his plan even if you don't want to be. I wonder how God would use you if you submitted yourself to him. I wonder what kind of difference you could really make in this world, what kind of impact player you could really be. I hope someday we all find out. Think on that dude....... Respectfully- RJV
  16. I have asked that before, I wonder if he is starting to doubt his stance......wondering if there is more to this life than living and dieing. I think that when he really starts thinking about it he starts to wonder if he is wrong......and what the consequences will be. Some of the questions posed that he wont answer would require him to look at himself and who he is, why he is etc. Sometimes looking in the mirror sucks. Like when you wear an outfit that you think looks cool but then see a picture and think, that is what that looks like? What the hell was I thinking? Why did someone not tell me i looked like a tool.......you get the idea. It is easier to avoid the mirror and dance around questions and rely on things you believed even though they have been shown to be wrong.....ie the necrophillia issue that HD seems to have. Anyway......good to see you brooke.... RJV
  17. All the arguments have been answered, once they are answered HD just asks the same question or makes the same statement.
  18. That is phenominal!
  19. Amen brother......... remember the family members who died, the firefighters and don't forget the NYPD Officers who also gave their lives........you just don't hear about them as much as the fire fighters.....
  20. You hit it right on the head! If you don't like going to work for someone else, get after it and work for yourself. There are to many opportunities out there. RJV
  21. Here is a problem we will not be able to overcome. A fundamental belief is that the Bible is the actual word of God. Yes it was written by men but 100% inspired by God. The men that wrote the Bible were not writing their own words but the words of God himself. That is why the Bible is often called "the word of God". Yes the authors of the Old testament wrote things they did not necessarily witness, but it does not matter because the perfect all knowing creator provided the knowledge. So if a person has that belief nothing you say can change there minds. Just like if you don't believe that we can not change your mind. If the Bible is the word of God which I believe it is, and God is perfect, which he is, and holy and just and rightous then the book containing his words must be the same as Him. I am not trying to convince you of anything, I am simply trying to explain why I and many others think the way we do. I am not even trying to make you understand why we believe it just that we do. RJV
  22. Just to clarify where I stand on the issue in case someone comes back at saying I was undecided, I blieve God created the Earth and us in 6 days, resting on the 7th. RJV
  23. I've said it before and no one has ever really responded.....but Genesis Chapter One is hand in hand with science in regard to the order of creation. We see natural disasters on tv all the time that completely change the face of the landscape and the earth itslef in a matter of days....sometimes hours and or minutes. We also see how those landscapes are restored, re planted in incredibly short amounts of time. We have seen volcanos litterally blow their tops and watched as they rebuild in front of us! I think it was Mt. St. Helens specifically. What we were told as kids would take hundreds of thousands of years has happend in less than a decade. We have seen rivers reroute themselves after floods, seas and lakes completely dry up and disapear over the years. My point is it may not take as long as we think to create something if you have the appropriate tools......which for arguments sake, I would say God has. I don't know how old the earth is. I do know that we as men can do some pretty amazing things in regard to rebuilding and fixing stuff. I also know that if we as God's creation can do amazing things in our own eys, God himself can outperform us. 6 days.........what's a day? God could have done it in our narrow view of 6 days.......he could have done it in his own view of 6 days. It does not matter.........the point to the entire Bible is Christ. RJV
  24. Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out the things which are visible. Just a little different definition of faith. RJV
  25. Well thanks for clearing that up. And for the record, I have a freedom you can not understand. And I mean nothing inflamatory by that statement. I am a slave to nothing in this world. RJV
