i made one or 2 topics asking some basic questions about tuning 400's and got no response back at all. but as soon as someone posts "check out my air scoops" or "best filter" every1 chimes in so i was a lil pissy and made a thread stating how slow i thought my 400ex was compared to my banshee and i keep looking to shift inth 6thgear and there is none and i got loads of responses stating how my banshee blows and is only decent for dragging and how a few 400exs on there toast banshees all day long....blah blah blah.......one kid even says he never loses to a shee and all he has is a slip on, filter, and jets....oo and he only had it at 3/4 throttle! fuckin honda owners...gay as hell.....makes me want to sell my ex just so im not part of them

yea i was thinking that....ok so time to get a reg and some insurance....whos the cheapest out there? i got a quote from progressive for 500 for the year for the banshee and 400ex.

ok so i want to start riding in some places in pa and they require you have have insurance / registration...i have the title for my bike and can register it...but it got me thinking if i ever get stopped by the man and they impound my bike i have no way of proving ownership to claim it back. so the question is, can i stamp the vin back in? will i hurt the new power coat i put on? i know hondas have stickers, can i do someting like that?

fullbores are nice but if your going to trail ride at at get maiers....mine look good, no complaints

been there done that.....all started with "lets put some fresh pistons in there" while the cylinders are off lets get em ported, what good are ported cylinders with a stock crank, plus all the goodies, shifting mods, suspension....ugh i call it the "while im in there syndrome"

can anyone give me their settings as to how to set up my front end? for example how many turns i should back out each heim, or should i just seat them all the way in and mount them up/ thanks

yea i just sent you a pm back. this will be my 1st time ripping into the side of the motor but the pics in the clymers look easy enough...nah just playing. i have installed / removed clutch baskets before, i installed the shift pro mod a few months back, and just adjusted my shift shaft 2 weeks ago....either way let me know what you want to do. ps you might as well save the 200 labor they were going to charge you and buy a shift pro mod and a modified shift star instead and install them while you are in there.

shift shaft is easy, you need a 32mm socket to take off the clutch basket, you can use a " grab it " tool to hold the clutch. i have just used the rear brake and someone holding the rear tires from moving.....workes ok for me.....shoot me a pm if you need any help...i live right by you. steve

i say get some shocks, finish the suspension up first.

i would get a 4mil....fit in the stock cases and get some more power.
