  1. Polishing the exaust port is just to prevent carbon buildup and losing power in the long run.
  2. Exactly what 350 duner said the templates will be a tremendous gain over stock but is equal to about a stage 2 port. An engine builder can take more material out and get more power. If you take more out without knowing what to do your engine will not run right. To sum it all up the templates are $89 plus how much you spend on grinding and sanding tools and is well worth the amount of money for the power gains, but an engine builder can get you more for around $450 so you make the call. How much power can you afford?
  3. You can't go wrong with the race logic. I have seen shops use them and just freehand the transfers and customers were very satisfied. But yes a pro will get you more power if you have the cash. It's your decision depending on how much money you have to spend.
  4. I paid 25 bucks for the cascade but it is well worth it. The stock one is a peice of shit though.
  5. If you want to make arrangements to drive over here I have the one that is good I will give to you.
  6. Keep riding man, just because some tree hugger moved in and don't have anything better to do than worry about what you do is not your problem. Just cause they know you have a quad does not mean that it was you riding where they are talking about. And anyway if they don't like it they can move back to the city where it's so damn peaceful. If there to chickenshit to come to you in person it don't mean shit.
  7. I had the same problem and yesterday I was cleaning out the toolbox on my truck and still have the good one. What part of north carolina do you live in?
  8. Unless your planning on doing all drag racing go with toomey t5's. I have never regreted mine they rev like crazy. I especially love them when a shee with equal mods and other pipes is looking at my rear bumper as I go by.
  9. Cut them wind grabbing elephant ears off. I debated on doing it myself but have no regrets.
  10. Has anyone tried the gytr ignition module, I saw one in the dealership catalog and I beleive it was only 200 bucks.
  11. Just stuff shop rags down in the case so if you drop the circlips you don't have to tear the bottom end apart. Make sure you oil the cylinders and they will be a lot easier to get over the rings. The rings are hard to close with your fingers but be patient.
  12. Use an air impact wrench to get it turning and have someone wack the heck out of it at the same time.
  13. My guess would be eighther clutch adjustment or possibly the amount of freeplay at the lever.
  14. Buy a +4 degree key they are only 12 bucks from alba.
  15. It took me some practice to get good on take off and through the gears but you need to ride by your self for like a day and practice on take offs and going through the gears. If you are hitting nuetral you are not pulling the shifter up enough to reach the next gear. Try removing your shifter and moving it down one notch and if that does not take care of the problem have your shift star cut, then you just bump the shifter to go to the next gear. (sorry about the paragragh) and last but not least pull the clutch and shift wide open throtle.
  16. Eighther your bike is sick or your not going through the gears right. But from the sound of it your shee is not right cause you should pull away when you hit 6th gear.
  17. If you want to do it yourself and still be on the safe side spend 89 dollars on the race logic porting templates.
  18. I have ridden a 350 80 over with 2 extra intake ports and a hot rods crank and it had tons of torque. My boss had his done that way and was not sure if it would work but he saw it work wonders on snowmobiles. I am not sure what he will charge me but your price is not bad for the amount of work it takes to add the ports around the piston. I just want to make sure I don't get ripped off.
  19. Thanks man you have been really helpfull in answering my questions how much do you charge for a 12 port job.
  20. So what if you run the +4 and the 5mm long rods is the same spacer plate required or do you have to get a thicker plate.
  21. I am thinking about a plus 4 stroker and I see vito's sells one but it has the stroker spacer plate and if any way possible I would like to run without the spacer plate. Two reasons: the plate gives you another gasket area for a chance to leak and I want this thing to be a sleeper if I have a stroker, jekl an hyde if you know what I mean.
  22. What does the 12 port cylinder consist of, as in how many intake, exaust, and transfers.
  23. Definitly port your stock cages, for the money it is a great power gain. It's free and some people claim it adds 2 hp. I know that I could feel the difference and I have boyesen reeds, the tdr reeds are the best for stock ported cages.
  24. 120 degrees apart would be my guess, but that is just a guess.
