  1. Sweet , Just crate up the whole engine , send it to Passion and tell Jim to give you the works. Yes get yourself a manual and follow very carefully and you should be fine , and if you have any questions , post them and we will try to help.
  2. I know a few guys that have done some similair things and they got by with it. One buddy of mine burnt a piston and hurt the cylinder and it had to be bored .080 over to clean up the other cylinder was .040 I think , He just fixed the one side and rode it for 3 more years. I wouldn't recommend it but I geuss if your broke , some people get by with it.
  3. 350 , Was this testing done on a stock engine or drag ported alcohol burning monster ? I would think that if the stock ignition system is acting as you describe that the system has some thing wrong with it. Does the dyna ignition use a battery source ?? If the stock ignition is dropping out one of the plugs at varying rpms , several things could cause this..... If the dyna ignition is working fine on the same engine it may be masking a problem the stock unit cannot over come. How about some more details.
  4. Go for it ! You never know till you try. You might try running ad on E-Bay. I think your fenders look great .
  5. I didn't go to Roost-Fest, nor have I ever been to California or Arizona , but a lot of these guys did and it sounded like they had a whooping good time. I really don't think anyone should come in here telling them how bad their party was , quads were slow or what ever . These guy's planned this get together for themselves NOT YOU !! Yes your were probably welcome to go to their camp , and if you were broke down they most likely would have helped you out. Your party must have really sucked if you were so worried about what the HQer's were doing . If you really want to hang with some old dudes and some really slow quads look me up , I'll even let you ride my Polaris Trailblazer so you can truly realize the sensation of a slow quad. But don't come in here hammering on these guy's because you don't like the way they party.
  6. Nice day here today , about 70 ,no wind, and lots of sun. Went riding at the Beaver Sand Dunes in Oklahoma, big crowd today . We have to take them when we get 'em, usually windy and cold this time of the year.
  7. xt45 for 32:1 ratio you would use 4oz. of oil for one gallon of gas. Simple formula: 1 gallon of gas = 128 ozs. at 32: 1 ratio 128 divide by 32 (ratio) = 4 If you are using a different amount of fuel simply add gallons together and change ratio number. Ex: 5 gallons of fuel at 40:1 ratio 128 X5 = 640 640 divided by 40 = 16 ozs. of oil
  8. Ducman, I am not an expert on this but here is what I sorta remember. The long rod is used to decrease side load on piston skirt and increase dwell time piston is at TDC. I think the main reason the are used is to increase engine life and reliabilty by reducing side loads on pistons. If more stroke is added to the crankshaft and the rod length is left the same the rod ratio is increased to extremes which causes excessive side loading on pistons and cylinders shortening engine life and increasing the chance of breaking or scouring. In theory a long rod engine will last longer and make more power due to decreased piston side loading. May some of the experts will chime in and help me out.
  9. I like them , They have a very smooth power band don't seem to be peaky like some other pipes . I know " peaky " is probably not a real word. I think they are a good top end pipe also . I'll soon let you know how the work with porting, when I get my topend back, and get it broke in.
  10. I have tried chasing the temps around by changing ratio from 40:1 all the way to 80:1 with synthetic oil . When we are at the dunes it could be 80 degrees in the day and at night drop to 50 degrees and mine would always get a little slugish in the cold. Changing the ratio helped some but ended up being a major pain in the @@@. Having two ratios of gas around and trying to remember which one was which , draining out some fuel to add the other. I soon gave up on this idea and just jetted for warm weather with airbox lid off and for the night rides just throw the lid on and let it run a little rich. With the guys I ride with you got to be ready to go! They will not wait around for you to change jets or mess with your fuel ratio. Their Will leave your bu@@ sitting at camp.
  11. Cool , For around $700 you should be able to get crank welded , porting, bore job, and new pistons and rings, if you do the tear down and assembly yourself.
  12. serdish,,There are a lot a paved parking areas with RV hook ups , but these will be all taken unless you go 2 weeks ahead of time. There are several spots with good ground but they are just big enough for a few vehicles , a small trailer and maybe a tent. And there are a lot of sandy areas also . There are a few private camp grounds that you can call and get reservations if you don't mind having to ride a ways to get to the dune entrance. I don't have any of the phone numbers, but I'll try to find out . One of the places is called "Sand Rat Haven "
  13. Some of our group will be going down Monday after Easter ,I'm going to go down Wednesday . There will be about 8 of us , some from Kansas , Texas,& Oklahoma Maybe we can hook up and say hi. Just shoot me a PM or E-mail
  14. Hey CoolRaptor , For that kind of money you can get a topend and port job , PM PassionRE and check his prices. Sounds like these guys are trying to rip you off.
  15. Hey guys , I am not out to tell you what to do or how to live your life , I geuss I was just venting a little frustration . I guy I know was just sent to the pen for 8 years for some kind off drug charges , and his wife is left to raise 3 kids all alone. So it just ticks me that he did this to his family. But if you want to do it that's your business.
  16. Sorry to post this question but search didn't help me much. I am having Passion RE port my cylinders and will be getting Noss Head, and V -Force reeds and will be running 8 paddle tires . Do you guys think I will need an extended swingarm ?? I like dragging a little but still like to ride trails but the front end in the air all the time isn't my thing. I am thinking about a +4 swingarm , but may stay with stock arm and see how it is, just looking for some advice.
  17. Get off the drugs, then you don't have to worry about the test. You are ruining your life and hopefully one day you will see. I really hate to see people doing drugs really makes me sad. Sweet ,...stand up and act like a man and throw that shit away.
  18. Check here , Jim will make you a good deal Jim's sand toys
  19. Im with Led on the turbo paddles , I started to buy the Skat-traks but thought I would try these out , and I am impressed ,they have more bite than a stock bike needs but we will see how they fair with a Passion RE port job. I still like my skate II's for general playing around and running through the trails. The turbo paddles have so much bite it's hard to hold the front end down in the trails and they throw a lot I mean a lot of sand, but it keeps everyone off your tail.
  20. We will probably go down on the 15th of April and leave the 18th. I know it will be too crowded and probably no place to park, but we do it every year anyway. Anybody on here going??
  21. Get it ported . Will add more power than anything you can bolt on , besides NOS or a turbo
  22. I certainly don't want to come in here and tell someone what oil to use or tell them what their using is bad. I have used Amsoil synthetic oils in my atv's for six years now and have never lost a clutch yet. I have never even had the clutch cover off of my 97' and I bought it new in 96'. Do my riding buddies have clutch trouble ? Yes , usally one or two clutch's a season but they use the wrong oil I try to tell them but do they believe me ? NO! so I think "what ever ". All I want to know is , have any of you ever used any brand of synthetic oil and lost a clutch as a result? Please list brand and type.
  23. Hey any of you guys needing some Amsoil , e-mail Holyman he will make you a super deal, Ask him about the new "Dominator " oil and the Amsoil chain lube. just don't pm him he hates those , e-mail him . [email protected] I use Amsoil at 50:1 ratio and have had no problems.
  24. 1_bansheenutt, what brand of synthetic oil did you use? Synthetic oils are great if the proper ones are used , they must be non-friction modified for use with wet clutch applications. The use of automotive oils that are energy conserving or friction modified will cause an early death to your clutch ,synthetic or not.
  25. bkabina, Your not confused , the person who posted this auction appears to be confused. Those look like stock Mukuni's to me.
