The dealers should have them , due to the yfz 450's using the same jets , I did get in a hurry once and ordered some from Alba and they gave me a good deal. You can get them from Sudco also.

PlaynSand replied to trialsallday's topic in General Banshee Discussion
It was me !! Trails , be sure and let us know how they work out for ya. I may post some more pics , if it ever quits freaking raining But Loco has posted the best Rocket pics ... his pipes look waaayyy better than mine for some reason. I need to go play in the sand this month , I am having withdrawals or something. -
AHH this jetting is driving me nuts
PlaynSand replied to sweetshee4312's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
Try the air screws 3 turns out, if it is better , then stick the 25 pilots back in . Also be sure to check that slides stay in sync after you mess with carbs . If the 25 pilots make it worse then go to 30's . Get the pilots then mess with the needle , just do one thing at a time and you will learn what helps and what don't. -
IT WORKS, OMG!I DID IT!I DID IT!
PlaynSand replied to sweetshee4312's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I knew you could do it!! Now you have already learned more than most and well on your way to having a very fast and great running banshee. -
Hey guy's what's the story with ( DirtRider) ?? I must have missed a lot , but crap, getting old su#ks . Y'all hammer on him every time he post and he still comes back , huummm.. Hey Stan , what's kindergarten ?? I don't think they had that when I went to school , but I'm pretty smart anyway cause I went through 3rd grade three times.

Sweet , if your smoking more on one side than the other a little I would not worry about it a lot , it probably means your carbs are not perfectly in sync or air screws oare off alittle. Just set both air screws about 1 1/2 turns out start it up and let it idle, if it will . Now look at the pipes ,,, is the right side smoking more?? If it is .. turn the idle screw in on the left carb a little , if this helps even the smoke and idle is not too fast you are done with one step. If it idles to fast at this point , you must screw the idle screws out equally on both carbs to achieve desired idle. Now adjust your air screws to get best idle , turn both screws out 2 turns give it a little time , Did it speed up and idle smooth ?? or did it start surging ??If it is worse then screw the screws in to 1 turn out and try that . If you have it smoking and idleing to your satisfaction , lets kill it .And remove the airbox so we can see in the carbs. Now get wherew you can see the slides and reach the throttle at the same time. Squeeze the trottle very lightly to you see one of the slides move , let off and do this several times to see if both slides move at the same time. If you see one slide lifting before the other (even slightly ) adjust the cable adjuster on the lagging carb , now watch them again . Are they the same now?? if so great , if not , adjust some more. Don't adjust too much , you need to make sure both slides are still closing , and that you have not adjusted the cable so much that you lifted the slide without pushing the throttle , make sure you maintain free play in the throttle or you will mess up all your idle adjustments .and have to redo them. If you get to this point , holler and we will go from there. Don't worry about having stock carbs , you can get them to work, maybe not as good as bigger carbs but they will run good on mild ported 350.

fuckin right. i have one. its sick. looks real nice and it helps you to clear the clutch arm with big carbs. i highly recommend it. get ahold of jim at passion. is there any way you can post a pic . Here's a pic

Yes , you just use stock reed gaskets.

I have a set off a 2004 , but they have been trimmed for V-Force reeds. Check out E-Bay, always some for sale there.

I have one , pretty slick one piece billet intake and the cross over is built inside so the intake is over an inch thick, got mine from http://www.passionracingengines.com/ Someone else should chime in , I think nearly all of the Passion engines are using this intake.

Thanks zilla . I guess on stock cylinders they would be pretty much done after that.

I have never tried it , but I have heard of some taking a stock bumper and melting down lead weights and pouring the tube full , that may add 20 to 30 lbs. to the bumper and be hidden , but I don't know how much it would help, but it would be way out front , but could result in nosedives when jumping.

Does anyone know what the bore size is on a 370 stock stroke. I hate my calculator....

I had similair issues when tuning my ported 350 with stock carbs. Would always sputter at the begining of the midrange then clear out and run. was'nt real bad but bothered the crap outa me . I had some LRD needles but they were too lean and would cause a bog at the start of the mid no matter what main I put in it . The stock needles caused a sputter but were better if I ran the clip at the top , also stock pilots helped a little more over the 30's . Never really found a cure , so stockers are on the shelf now and running PWK's . I was visiting with a engine builder from Kansas , ((not naming any names)) And he was telling me that the stock needles would never work properly on a ported engine and to get some RZ needles and run as big a main as it would stand , but he said the stock carbs would rob it of a lot of power and it would be better to run aftermarket carbs. I don't know if all he said was true , but he was handing everyone their ass in the drags riding a 535 Cheetha with +10 swingarm and 25" paddles. I never found any RZ needles , so I gave up and bought the Keihins.

Where can I get some pipe clamps for these Rocket pipes? The pipe size is 1 1/4 on stinger tube and 1 1/8 on pipe outlet and overall length would be about 1 1/2 .

Well I don't have a stroker or a twelve port , but recently installed some 33PWK's , I just threw them on out of the box and it ran . It was real rich idleing but didn't load up , so I switched the 52 pilots to 48's , I still have the 165 mains in , but have not had a chance to go ride it yet . Loco .. I did find out the jets are the same darn jets as the ones that fit my wifes YFZ 450 , I wished I would have known that before ,now I have 3 each of a lot of sizes.

I had a set and they ran very well, The power band is very similair to Toomey T5's , I would say . Not the greatest bottom end pipe but I think they were built for mostly MX racing . Now I'm not much up on Toomeys , but I had a guy that has a few drag bikes with Toomey T5's ride mine with the RFX's and he said they feel the same as his T5's . The bad thing about the LRD"s is price . But know I have Rockets and like them better.

This seems a bit extreme but would be fun to play with if I had that much cash. I wonder how it would do in the sand ...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2483862709

Sorry , sold them on E-bay , two weeks ago.

This weekend was my first chance to try out my Rocket pipes. So I will start of with the install. The pipes fit great , have to trim stock exhaust tab on left side ( and fenders ) but the pipes clear the frame easily , the right side stinger tube was hitting the frame a little but just loosened the four bolts on the front of the silencer and adjusted the tube and retightened bolts , and the tube then cleared the frame. The stinger tubes attach to the silencers with four allen bolts and an o-ring seal between the two , and the holes are large enough , you can adjust the stinger tubes to clear the frame or air box. If you keep the fenders you have to trim them a lot.. These are some big a@s pipes. No more riding up on the tank with these babies.. The silencers are nice and are built from aluminum tubing it appears , no thin tin crap here. and they sound a little like Toomeys but not as high pitched. And they are louder than my LRD's but not as loud as CPI's. I was worried about what kind of lowend power I was going to have , but to my suprise .. I had great lowend , better than my LRD's , in fact this is the best bottom end power my banshee has ever had , I am even going to go up one tooth on the front , because right now first gear is totally useless. I could even ride slowly through the trails in second and third and it still had instant response . The midrange was stonger but was really hard to tell how good the midrange was because it quickly passed by and was begging for another gear. The topend pull is very good and revs way beyond my old pipes . I gained a lot of top speed with these pipes . From a few drag races I learned these pipes love to be revved , if you shift when you think you should you are only about halfway there , the power band is very wide and smooth . The only bad thing I can say about them is the tendancy to give you burn on the leg if you get up by the tank and the fuel petcock is hard to get to, but I am learning it's better to reach under the pipe, could be a problem if you have real big fingers. But overall am very pleased with the pipes and the great customer service I recieved from Minkia38.

DUNCAN, check your bowl vents and make sure it's not restricted or the hose is kinked. ....the hose coming of the bottom of the carb ..... you might blow through the hose and make sure it is clear. Also maybe the brass tube in the bowl is plugged or something . Sounds like one of the carbs is not leting the air out when the fuel is going in.

You might check and make sure the carbs are in sync , one of the slides may be opening more .
