Ok guys , here's a pic of Rocket pipes installed with the fenders on. Does require extensive trimming. Ok here's one of the airbox , these pipes clear the stock airbox just fine , heck they fit better than my LRD's did. Ok one minor problem , the stock pipe tabs will require some minor trimming. One more , side view with left side installed , will add more pics when I get done , got to go help the wife for a while now.

Need some expert help My Shee is a Dog
PlaynSand replied to tabshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You might check your silencers , take them apart and see if they are full of carbon and sludge. Make sure your air filter is clean. -
I have no experience with Toomeys but based on other friends with them I would try 280-290 main if running the air box , Toomey needles on 4th clip . Stock needles on 3rd clip. It's real hard to tell ,all bikes not the same ,but it sounds like your rich on the mains. Have you ran a plug test?

I think Banchetta did some dyno testing on this subject ,you might do search . I left my timing stock , just to play it safe . I hate melted pistons.

I recently purchased a set of Rocket Pipes , I don't have them mounted yet , waiting on some air filters ,hope to have a ride report soon. I like CPI's and think they are a great pipe , but every set I have seen had cracked mounts , or had been rewelded, Plus Everybody Has Them ! These Rockets are some Big as# pipes ! but most of the pipe is forward of your legs so I don't think leg burns will be a problem. Plus you can actually talk to the person who weld these pipe together ,the owner. Hope to be at Little Sahara over the 4th of July weekend to get'em jetted in and try them out in the sand.

Yea dude , but your still stock , so don't feel bad, But sounds like you whooped some Honda
-
Don't feel bad , I have been beat also , I ran up against a few with stroker kits , big cams , 13:1 pistons , running on alcohol , Damn there fast. And they looked stock!! I was taking the wifes piped YFZ out and picking on a few of my freinds , but I soon quit in a hurry some people get very upset if you beat 'em . I still like my banshee a whole lot better , I just get bored on a four stroke.

Here's a few more pics

I have a set of LRD RFX chrome pipes for sale . The chrome is in great condition , with no rust and a few minor scratches. silencers have been polished . These pipes are a one piece design ,they are not adjustable like the older LRD's. Left side pipe has minor dent on inside to clear the Noss head. Also have the needles and pilots that came with pipes fro the stock carbs. Asking $300 PM for more pics or questions .

Hey champ , I have similair issues with my little ole 350 stock stroke ported by Passion , was recently doing a little drag racing in the sand after a good rain , my clutch held for one run , then started slipping badly . Also strecthed my chain to the point it was jumping teeth. I don't see how you guys with those 12 port strokers can keep from ripping the handle bars off, trying to hang on. The guys I were racing against were running the Direct Drive lockup clutches . They use weights that add pressure to the plates as rpm increases and have a cool looking clear cover , Sorry that's all I know about them , but these guys said they worked great and helped the clutch last a lot longer when dragging.

Just wanted say "what's up " , I have seen some of the banshees from there and those are some nice bikes . I ride at Beaver sand dunes a few times a month and always see some guys from Liberal . But stupid me cannot remember any names

By looking at the strap the plug on the right looks a little rich , but I can't see the bottom of the porcelain , My vote is with fixitrod. When I got mine running good the strap was dark brown . If in doubt keep going up until it sputters on the top .
-
I lowered mine down from 360's to 330 main's for the hotter weather and plugs are dark brown with some black . Stock needles on 2nd clip from top , with 25 pilots And this thing rips , It has tons of torque and pulls hard all the way. My thanks to Passion RE The power is there , and when the jetting is right you will be amazed.
-
Nothing wrong with it , that's just what my wife said
-
Wow that's a tough question Evil. I aked my wife ,just for fun , she doesn't have a banshee , She rides a yfz. Black plastic , C series polished wheels, Lots of chrome , maybe a flame graphic kit . Custom set cover to match graphics . Smooth and fast looking , not aggresive and no Girly pink and flower sh#t.

My brother-in laws banshee was doing this , It smoked like crazy and he tried different jetting and leaned out premix and come to find out the slides were switched in the carbs , put the slides in correct and the smoking went away.
-
Hey guys I thought I would post this part , since it is hard to find from the link. Anybody .. Heard of this before ?
-
I recently ran across a letter from a well known oil company describing the effects of premix oil on the fuels octane value. According to this information using premix at a 20:1 ratio would degrade 92 octane fuel to 70-74 octane . And would increase the chance of detonation . Has anyone heard of this before?? Here's the link.

Banchetta, Mine is just a stock stroke , I am running stock carbs and intakes with V-force , do you think I would make any gains by changing to aftermarket intake or carbs ?? But don't want to kill my torque , Heck when running in 6th gear now I catch myself trying to grab another gear , I know I need to gear up ,I am going to get a 15tooth front sproket and try it . I do realize I won't be able to pull the higher gearing you stroker guys do .

Wll when I finally listened to Jim , I got mine right. I am not worth a crap at reading plugs , so I just started going up on the mains until it would nose over or fall off the pipe real early, then backed off a couple of sizes . Well it ran good but not real good , so I started playing with the needles when I finally hit on a combination that worked and it changed the whole power band, You will shit yourself when you get the needles right and one clip on the needle makes a lot... of difference. I got me a torque monster that revs like a drag bike .. What more could you ask for .

Reded, When I got my porting my midrange was terrible also, When I was stock with pipes and K@N I was running 290 mains , 30 pilots , and needle on the 3rd clip, Now with porting 350 mains , 27.5 pilots and needle on 2nd clip from blunt end. You might try lowering the needle it helped mine. I may go back to 25 pilots , it's a little fat on the bottom now with the 27.5 pilots. I think .... Passion's porting creates a huge velocity increase in airflow and draws on the stock carbs so hard that it get's too much gas in the midrange and at idle, thus the need for smaller pilots and leaner needles. Now this is just my theory on the subject , I'm sure Jim could give you better info.

Anyone Else Use Amsoil Series 2000 Or Dominator?
PlaynSand replied to nickxc's topic in General Banshee Discussion
The Amsoil series 2000 and the Dominator are the same oil , Amsoil just recently renamed the oil Dominator , I use this oil at 50:1 and I have not had any problems from the banshee , other than it keeps the plugs so clean it is hard to read them. I have been using the Dominator in my Polaris oil injection tank and I think it is a 40:1 ratio and it has not had problems , So 40:1 ratio works also. -
Whatsup Fellas. I Had One Hell Of A Weekend.

Hey man glad you are ok. I know you probably feel sore as he%% but you should count your blessings , Those drop offs are really bad this time of the year with all the wind blowing all the time . That is probably the most dangerous part of Little Sahara "the sudden drop offs" that you don't see coming. But you didn't do anything wrong , that place will just trick you sometimes , I ran off one of the hills about 8 years ago in a rail , I like to say " General Lee style " and we landed at the bottom . We had bumps and bruises and trashed a rail but I learned a lesson that day I have never forgotten. Now I do drive like Grandma until I learn the layout then we haul ass! And the wife told me if I ever did that again .. She would kill me, and I think she was serious When you get healed up , Holler and we will all have to go down and ride them there hills. -
You can get glow sticks at the dunes and every place sells the flags , you can usally find glow sticks in camping section at most stores and they are a little less expensive than buying them at the dunes, but last time I was there I bought some at Jim's Sand Toys.

Just a suggestion, but this is what has worked best for me so far. 25 pilots , air screw 1 turn out , needle on second clip , 360 main, I tried 30 pilots but was to rich , I am a little rich on the main but not bad 350 may be better but am at about 2500 ft. elv. I tried everything but could not ge rid of mid sputter until I lowered needle. Before porting I was running 290 mains , 30 pilots and needle on 3rd clip , with pipes and K&N. After porting was a whole new monster .... Am still tinkering
